# 343 Industries Becomes Halo Studios
[Halo Studios: New Name, New Engine, New Games, New Philosophy](https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2024/10/06/halo-studios-unreal-engine-interview/) by Joe Skrebels for Xbox Wire
> We’re entering a new dawn for Halo. Those new visuals were created using Unreal Engine 5 – and we learned that all future Halo projects will use the engine, and that multiple new games using it are in development. Alongside the engine change, the studio is seeing changes in culture, workflow, and how its teams are organized. To match that new approach, franchise stewards 343 Industries are changing their name – Halo Studios is here.
A name and engine change aren't enough to save this languished franchise. They are adding a [third-person camera](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/halo-infinite-is-getting-a-third-person-mode/) to *Infinite* for Chief's sake!

> "The Foundry was an initiative that touched on every part of the creative process everything from concept art VFX characters vehicles and weapons to make the future games of Halo."
I guess gameplay, narrative, level design, etc. are not a part of the creative process at 343—I mean Halo Studios.
You could watch the [2018 *Infinite* reveal](https://youtube.com/watch?v=Fmdb-KmlzD8), swap the [[Halo’s Slipspace Engine is being Swapped|Slipspace Engine]] drop for Unreal Engine 5 and the team's messaging would stay the same.

At a certain point, maybe the author off these "new" chapters needs to step down, not change to a pen name.
