# Capcom's 2D Fighting Collections Are *Not* Using RE Engine You know me. I love [[RE Engine Out Here Doing Even More|writing about]] Capcom's RE Engine and [[RE Engine May be the Most Flexible Proprietary Engine Out There|all it can do]]. Beneath legendary key art and a wall of legalese I saw the logo for MT Framework, Capcom's previous in-house engine. After a little digging, I found out that all of the 2D fighting game collections are not using the all powerful engine. There's the *Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection*, *Capcom Fighting Collection*, and, presumably, the upcoming *Capcom Fighting Collection 2*. All of these use MT Framework. I wonder why. If *Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective* uses RE Engine, I don't see why *Marvel vs. Capcom* doesn't run off it. The next big RE Engine game is *Monster Hunter Wilds*. The only announced game after that is *Pragmata*. I feel like it is safe to assume that *[[S5E13 - Resident Evil 9 Hopes & Dreams|Resident Evil 9]]* will also utilize the hotness. I wonder what is next, maybe *Ace Attorney 7*? [^1]: Sheesh, what a title...
