# *Outer Wilds* Thoughts and Impressions

I have never played a game like *Outer Wilds*. It's a game of discovery and revelation. The fastidious developer, Mobius Digital, crafted an experience that consumes its players. Everything is placed and presented with careful dedication to the details, no matter how small or delightful.
It's drive of space exploration captures the very essence of what drives us to explore the world we live on and those out in space. It rewards testing and experimentation, while also punishing those same principles. *Outer Wilds* embodies the scientific method in a captivating, graceful way that combines narrative and gameplay. You are compelled to explore. Throughout my time, I felt as if I lived right on the cusp of understanding and being overwhelmed with knowledge. That balance is an incredible space to play and think within.
The game's greatest accomplishment exists outside of the game though. It's [[Joining the Outer Wilds Club - Good Blood|the club.]] Javed puts it perfectly, in ways I could only hope of conveying someday. The hushed, but encouraged tones of its fans over the years have always pulled me in toward playing the game. They kept my curiosity without over-promising or shaming. It was always an invitation. Once I took the plunge, my infatuation came upon "gradually and then suddenly." I became a part of the club. Now, it is my privilege and joy to join their ranks and invite you in. I promise the experience is worth exploring.
