Developer: Nintendo R&D4
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Nintendo Entertainment System
Release: February 12, 1990
Summary
A seismic sequel in the Super Mario series that introduced an overworld map, a slew of power-ups, and the Koopalings. It is hard to believe that this runs on the same hardware and (based off Japanese releases) three years after Super Mario Bros. launch. It's a game that feels packed with variety and secrets.
Acquisition
My in-laws had a complete-in-box copy that they gave me with their NES collection. It's in great condition.
Memories
Most of my memories are tied to the Game Boy Advance remake/port of the game, so I will save those specific recollections for that entry.
I do remember sitting at the foot of RD's little tube TV upstairs and flip flopping between this and The Legend of Zelda.
