# *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* Notes
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sure is a Call of Duty game. The campaign is a huge step up over the last few, especially after the debacle of *Modern Warfare III*'s remake. Overall fun with exploratory sub-genres, while keeping in line with the series mantras.

## Stats
- Started Playing: 11/20/24
- Beat: 11/26/24
- Total Playtime: 12 hours ~
## Legacy
- First Call of Duty post Microsoft acquisition. First day one Game Pass launch. Best campaign in a looooong while apparently, especially considering MW3.
- It’s the sixth BLOPS? Remember when BLOPS 4 had no campaign and was basically Titanfall? Ahhh those were the days.
## Overall
- Feels like campaign mission ideas that were put up on a board and the team voted on what would be the coolest missions to do in the 90s spy era.
- And in that idea diversity, there is gameplay variety too. Bombastic set pieces, Far Cry open world, stealth sim Hitman lite lite, horror, puzzle, hoards, and classic CoD gun hallways.
## Story
- A very MI5 The Apostles or 007 Spectre secret group has appeared and is taking over. A former JFK looking CIA agent is taking the fall. We are going rogue to stop them.
- A bioweapon is in play. It seems my character was a test subject. Harrow is a traitor.
- There are there real time interstitial cutscenes at the Rook. This is good. If you want it, it’s there. But no obligation or pressure. Want to dive into the next mission? Go for it. Who cares?
- Interesting to have Harrow psychologically be sympathetic, but still evil on the other side of the torture.
- This is sort of an essay idea with that therapy where you believe one thing, but know it is not true. Feeling versus knowledge and the psychological impact.
- Ending is whatever.
## Gameplay
- It is so fast and I die so much on Normal difficulty. I am not used to this style of FPS play.
- Feels like years of CoD gameplay learnings and coming in so fresh is a detriment.
- Worldwide quest with level breakdown and a hub in between levels.
- Mission 3 was good. Stealth espionage that turned prison break that turned car chase.
- The secondary weapon wheel is clunky. Have to hold stick angle and release wheel.
- AI companions shout out when a shot is bad/will be spotted, but it happens instantly. No relief to just survey/canvas. Perhaps because I am on easy? It’s annoying.
- Okay. They got Zombies into the campaign. Amazing. Horror. Horde. RE inspired. That was genius.
- There’s this infiltration and sabotage enemy gear mission. It’s like Hitman lite lite. If could be cooler on a real schedule. But would that be more frustrating for the player base?
## Music/Sound Design
- Metal/electric guitar during zombies. Amazing.
- Guitar just comes in heavy whenever the mission takes its big turn.
## Graphics
- Pretty go boom.
- Stylish chromatic aboration in hub.
- It’s smooth. Wish my capture would allow for 120. Next time.
- Dolby Vision vs regular HDR is slightly tricky.
