Enjoy. --- Hello everybody and welcome to the Max Frequency Podcast. *00:00* I don't know what's going to be there. *00:00* Much. *00:00* They might do a little thing for like, you know, Pikmin or something like that. *00:00* It'll be a bigger internal boost. *00:00* Here's my get that stuff out. *00:00* So yeah, maybe they'd tease it there. *00:00* I was gonna say, you know that the like delay or announcement of them redoing that game was like four and a half years ago? *00:00* You're like, I know Bonnie Ross left the studio. *00:00* I mean some of these other people are bunchy OGs, but he is like one of the Halo OGs. *00:00* You know what they're bringing they announced that, right? *00:00* I'm tired of Xbox. *00:00* I think those are gonna be two of the the two that's obsidian, right? *00:00* They're like, we're making Indiana Jones. *00:00* But here's where I'm going to slot this one. *00:00* If I was running Xbox, I would go to Bethesda and be like, look, we know you're making Starfield, that's great. *00:00* People would be like, are you kidding me? *00:00* Because, you know, earlier this year they're like starting with Starfield, all our games are $70. *00:00* Come work at Ubisoft and help us create a Splinter Cell remix. *00:00* I think we're the same thing with Remedy, because when they talked about that the other day, they're like, the game's still in pre-production, and it's like, oh my gosh, this is so far off. *00:00* The PSVR2 rollout has been so weird, they've spent more time talking about the hardware than anything, which I I get that they're proud of the hardware, and they should be. *00:00* What do we crossed over the Bering Strait? *00:00* Keep your eyes and ears peeled out for that. *00:00* Which also did not happen. *00:00* Yeah, and it's like, okay. *00:00* Like within the next first figure, we will have the successor to the Switch. *00:00* Like what if they just like reused assets and they're like, eh, if we'll just give Nintendo their own Resident Evil game. *00:00* Where the lastary game engine too, like because it's not like it's not like they're working with Unreal or whatever. *00:00* Where like they showed that game off and supposedly they had like nothing really done with it other than the trailer. *00:00* Where is that? *00:00* I agree. *00:00* First party game of 2023, this time with a title coming from Double Fine. *00:00* Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be announced to release in 2024. *00:00* But I do love it. *00:00* Where it's all condensed and everyone's there doing everything. *00:00* Like it is not it is not good. *00:00* Like we're trying to figure out if going out to LA to be in person for KeelyCon is going to be worth our time. *00:00* E3 was not running the ESA was not running the show at E3. *00:00* Took the wind out of itself E3 when PlayStation wasn't there was real weird. *00:00* There's so much dead space here now. *00:00* And I just do not I do not care for that approach, you know. *00:00* I know you don't necessarily follow Apple as as closely as I do, but every summer they have a WWDC, their their worldwide developer conference. *00:00* And and talks, but then there's also online courses, and that makes more sense for an educational developer-centric thing. *00:00* It's pretty clear where you fall and what you need to plan for. *00:00* At Summer Games Fest. *00:00* I've given up predicting the last night. *00:00* It's ours. *00:00* has gameplay shown off, but still no official title. *00:00* Bayonetta 3 delayed to 23. *00:00* A new Donkey Kong game is revealed. *00:00* And then they said all games shown today will be released in the first half of next year and we're in May 2023 and everybody's like, Where's Silksong? *00:00* Then reshape so yeah, my my next four predictions I should stress are just broad This'll happen at some point this year. *00:00* I mean, before E3 even dissolved, Nintendo had pulled out, and supposedly the reason was they just straight up don't have anything. *00:00* I think the Switch is done. *00:00* It definitely is end of life for Switch. *00:00* There's like a Mario baseball game, I think they might announce, which could be like another like end of life switch game. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* I think they've done like every new Mario sports game this gen. *00:00* Uh yes, I do think remasters will carry this to the end of its life cycle. *00:00* We'll see if it does. *00:00* There's been s big celebration, they just put actually the fire red and leaf green soundtracks out. *00:00* That seems to be the like the window in which they like to release consoles lately. *00:00* the switch follow-up in the first half of next year. *00:00* I still remember when that was revealed, I was like, is this an expansion of the Wii or is this a new system? *00:00* Yes, that would be a good thing. *00:00* And there's just a clear cutoff, like uh to avoid the problem you're talking about, where this game worked these games for the the Nintendo *00:00* I there's power in the next one. *00:00* There's only one Donkey Kong game on the Switch. *00:00* Would be like smash, I guess, but like that's not gonna happen. *00:00* I'll be positive now this time. *00:00* They've been hiring for so long, man. *00:00* Well no, uh just so Amazon. *00:00* Far more than a JPEG logo. *00:00* They don't even sell the collection anymore. *00:00* Uh right, which is so weird. *00:00* Yeah, poor code Veronica. *00:00* Or if you've played this game, you get this item in your your game. *00:00* He saved her rule and stuff like that. *00:00* Complete a box. *00:00* Yep. *00:00* But like you can't deny that like Infinite bombed and then the head of the studio left, one of the heads of the IP left, like a bunch of *00:00* Big, big people. *00:00* They did, and it's good now. *00:00* for our biggest franchise, so it's time to clean house. *00:00* When it wor when it worked well, it was like, dang, this is pretty sleek game engine they've crafted here, but like just not enough. *00:00* I did not. *00:00* The PS5 and the Switch. *00:00* Like why would I why would I want to keep subscribed to Game Pass when your biggest first party release of the year I you can say hi-fi rush if you want, I guess, but hi-fi rush came out of nowhere. *00:00* Their biggest release of the first half this year has been Redfall. *00:00* Cause I'm not even thinking about it from the perspective of like a lot of people keep comparing Sony and Microsoft like, oh, hardware numbers and stuff. *00:00* Three ports, five, three, and four. *00:00* Uh what is it? *00:00* I'm gonna find I'm gonna look it up. *00:00* It's time, man. *00:00* Or shooter. *00:00* There is Hellblade 2, which when the freak is that releasing State of a Decay 3, Outer Worlds 2, and then the Kojima game, and then Compulsions making a game. *00:00* But these are all the ones officially announced. *00:00* Which is, I think, kinda obvious. *00:00* Yeah, I don't know. *00:00* Do you have interest in working on a Halo game or anything like that and seeing what they say? *00:00* So that's that's my heart. *00:00* And I imagine Truckman and the gang are just gonna want to be like, yeah, let's just admit it. *00:00* So it could be a made amends to some degree. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* She's in a bad spot. *00:00* And I just don't think like they announced Last Was Part 2 so early, and it took the entire console generation for them to get that game out. *00:00* Because the reports and rumors are out there. *00:00* I've still got my day job as a director and a writer. *00:00* Versus Naughty Dog. *00:00* Put it on PC. *00:00* Hi, I'm Jim Ryan, and we're making Marvel Wolverine. *00:00* Like super. *00:00* Gotcha. *00:00* Uh the Uncharted movie had the remasters. *00:00* I don't think it's out soon because it has shifted hands kind of a la Metroid Prime 4 here. *00:00* But for that game to have shifted hands within the past eighteen months, I don't see how they can get that game out, you know, to coincide with the T V show, I guess, like you're suggesting so close. *00:00* It's just twisted metal. *00:00* Uh it'll get a new release date though of 2024. *00:00* Spider Man and Oh yeah. *00:00* I guess that makes sense. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* like a snowstorm for Ragnarok and So you think they're gonna announce an uncharted game. *00:00* Bloodborne also helps steer that Elden Ring crowd back to PS5, exclusive, it's demons, you know, or I'm sorry, from software veins. *00:00* These from software people. *00:00* I mean just invade your game? *00:00* Uh yeah, like You're saying they can't just pull Harley Quinn and give him a jet pack and a magical zip line? *00:00* Like we've been playing Resident Evil 6 and in the cutscenes. *00:00* with all these news and announcements. *00:00* We've picked seven and eight, so chapter selects chugging along real good. *00:00* And Sony just needs to talk because they've been so quiet. *00:00* Logan, you're you're back for our annual special. *00:00* And then having Jeff Keeley claim every single announcement as his own Summer Games Fest announcement just is even more exhausting. *00:00* I I still call it E3 s in the spirit of the time of year, although the event, technical event itself, is is dead in the water. *00:00* Like we're a month out and I don't know what the heck that event is or like if we should go or not. *00:00* killed E3 and he's like, hey, hey, our thing's gonna be so much better. *00:00* Right. *00:00* Like a week ago. *00:00* fully Jeff's fault, but since he is the one organizing this sort of thing, it is a little weird when he's like again touting this is like the next big thing, and then I'm trying to like *00:00* And from memory, I didn't even double check these, so I'm sure we can remember mostly. *00:00* Game Pass streaming stick. *00:00* And then you said three new first party games are announced. *00:00* Exactly. *00:00* Which I don't think it it was announced in July because that's when our predictions episode went up. *00:00* And factions will be packaged with it. *00:00* And then I said, uh, local PS3 emulation on PS5. *00:00* It's just really tough. *00:00* This would be the Friday to do it. *00:00* I said Game Boy games and systems are announced for NSO. *00:00* So like that's that's the first time I think we've ever had an exact pred uh release date prediction, right? *00:00* Never. *00:00* You did. *00:00* I think this summer is too early for them to talk about what's next. *00:00* The last was part two, Ghost of Tsushima. *00:00* Cause I mean, d is there anything else that I'm missing that like I know they're still releasing, you know, like DLC for Mario Kart and stuff like that, but otherwise it's like *00:00* For when they show off their next hardware. *00:00* Maybe it's basketball. *00:00* If they're not gonna give people GameCube games on Switch online, which seems unlikely, um *00:00* I think it just makes sense to remaster a couple of the games that people want the most from that era. *00:00* There was like a a larger rumor tied to it like earlier this year. *00:00* Ghost of Tsushima launched on the same day. *00:00* Uh porting, obviously remastering one of the best. *00:00* Okay, we'll then have a showcase for it in early 2024, and it will launch in the first half of next year. *00:00* Which is cool, but they always like highlight weird little I always think of the IR camera that's in the bottom of the right Joy-Con. *00:00* I really just think it is going to be Switch 2. *00:00* I think Super Switch would be a great callback. *00:00* Anyway, so they uh if they're gonna continue to latch onto the Switch namesake, which I think they will do, I do not think they're going to call it something else. *00:00* And then we, but then you've got we and we you, and then there's 3ds, new 3ds, XL. *00:00* So they have, you know, bright spots and and and low points, I guess. *00:00* Tweak on the Switch name, Super Switch, Switch Advanced, something like that where it makes it clear that this is the next iteration while not being the same thing. *00:00* The they screwed up a l in a lot of different ways with the code. *00:00* type hardware, you know, where it's on the go. *00:00* There were rumors a couple a couple of months ago. *00:00* I don't think they would do that maybe at this one, but perhaps the next one. *00:00* The Universal Park, like that's gonna be the next expansion. *00:00* Like I don't know. *00:00* So it's been a long time. *00:00* is because I decided to lock it in when Amazon still did the discount. *00:00* I don't I don't think they're gonna wanna tease everybody the way they did before because they know everybody's pretty tired of hearing about this game six years after its initial announcement, you know. *00:00* They drop the ball hard. *00:00* uh from Super Mario U Deluxe to uh 3D world. *00:00* I do not think that I don't I don't think that would be work great on a home console. *00:00* So I just I think that could be the Mario thing to help carry us into Super Switch, Super Mario, Mega Odyssey, Universe 2, whatever that game's gonna be called. *00:00* I think that game will get announced. *00:00* But they're but they're clearly not slowing down with this series at all. *00:00* Here's a port of this, here's a port of that, because we are at this end of life. *00:00* kind of was flimsy and fell apart. *00:00* Uh as you know, we've explored and talked about. *00:00* Some of those Wii like on real shooter games. *00:00* Step for them. *00:00* Either way, those Zelda Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD switch ports finally come into light. *00:00* game. *00:00* You ride a train, Zelda's in, a suit of armor. *00:00* Spirit tracks a couple months ago. *00:00* Let's move on to Xbox. *00:00* Is that incorrect? *00:00* I mean, I think Phil's still doing what he can, but I think a lot of their shortcomings lately with their games falls squarely on Booty's shoulders. *00:00* underperforming because they had four, which was not horrible, but but a lot of people four is not a favorite in the series by any means. *00:00* Like the inverse on infinite, I think the campaign was pretty good, but the multiplayer just no depth to it at all, missing features. *00:00* Because Netflix dumped a bucket of money in his lap and he's like, Well, I gotta go. *00:00* is somewhat to blame for this as well with like how they hire contractors and stuff like that constantly. *00:00* damning to for them to like put up a blog post and be like, we're abandoning our game engine, you know, like that would be a hard. *00:00* At least if reports are to be believed, it's one of the most expensive game engines ever made. *00:00* Anyway. *00:00* punted on that a long time ago. *00:00* Do you want the green box or do you want the blue box? *00:00* Good games. *00:00* Whether or not the Activision deal goes through or not, I don't really care. *00:00* Uh yeah. *00:00* Forza Motorsport Horizon 5 or whatever is isn't deep for you. *00:00* I'm thinking that I'm thinking they could entice Atlas to show it off at the at their event, assuming it's coming to Xbox platforms, but well, given the fact that five finally came out and *00:00* That could be good. *00:00* Xbox first party, the Xbox Studios games I am most curious about and actually want to play. *00:00* It's not compulsion. *00:00* I don't even need a date, but like it's time to see it. *00:00* Contraband, which is a second party game with uh Avalanche. *00:00* Which feels I would say it's gonna be Horizon Mania out here. *00:00* I feel like id's shooters also have a single player like component to them. *00:00* But yeah, I I don't know. *00:00* We can't go another however many years without a Halo, even though I know they probably want to be a little bit more careful about whenever they release the next one. *00:00* So we're gonna give that to somebody else and they're gonna make a game and you're gonna have Obsidian make New Vegas too, you know? *00:00* I don't know. *00:00* That's just a fa they cut they killed the deal, the dollar deal, right? *00:00* They did with gold. *00:00* Yeah, and during the end of the street. *00:00* And it would be soft forward. *00:00* This is what it used to be. *00:00* Just watching that and I was like, ooh, that's a good idea to watch it on your lunch break. *00:00* And Psychonauts 2 would be so fascinating from the Figma campaign to being acquired by Microsoft to PlayStation and new consoles and like *00:00* Cinco de Mayo, Revenge of the Fifth. *00:00* Um to add a little bit more specifics to this, maybe this is too cliche, but I've been trying to think about this and like what the game could be. *00:00* 'Cause I'm me and uh it's an Aughty Dog. *00:00* They will announce it when they are ready. *00:00* Yes, that is our next game. *00:00* And they the Neil has talked about recently, like we had ideas for these games and these Ellie's parents. *00:00* And they use that thematically to tie together. *00:00* I was thinking of that meme, which I think you're the one that informed me it's from the Titanic, but it's been like 84 years, man. *00:00* This game's been in development since the beginning of part two. *00:00* Online multiplayer game. *00:00* I think another game, this isn't part of my prediction, but I do think like The Last of Us Part Two is going to come to PC. *00:00* It's time, man. *00:00* Yes, that's a long time. *00:00* It's all I'm gonna do. *00:00* And I'm driving a car with guns on it. *00:00* Yeah, so are you saying the game will? *00:00* I I feel like it's gotta release close to the show for this synergistic view I've got going on. *00:00* I feel like with Twisted Metal it'd just be better if they both came out together. *00:00* They're going to announce that a PlayStation Studios, a first party, is making a significant PSVR2 game. *00:00* We had Grand Turismo 7, like as a first party initiative side of things. *00:00* Second party and third party relationships, which are great. *00:00* I've been saying Insomniac for years. *00:00* What's gonna happen to this thing? *00:00* Cool. *00:00* titled so ghost of I don't know I don't know Japanese regions but I don't think it'll be Ghost of Tsushima 2. *00:00* We need to leave, go to a different island. *00:00* I feel like that would be a better naming convention in all likelihood it'll just be Ghost of Tsushima too, but because I guess you're still the ghost of Tsushima. *00:00* Yeah, so a little premature on that part. *00:00* Here's the trailer. *00:00* It was, yes. *00:00* Maybe she's looking for the dial of destiny, which is straight up the same device from Uncharted 3 *00:00* Is it all I'm saying is the Indiana Jones team played Uncharted 3. *00:00* And so I'm actually worse than. *00:00* I kinda hope it wouldn't be. *00:00* Spider-Man. *00:00* That's it. *00:00* And that's just mostly where I'm at in my life between our show chapter select and just my own general game time outside of that is fairly short and limited and like I feel like Zelda's gonna take me a while and *00:00* I wish you guys would say stuff a little more a little earlier so we could talk about it. *00:00* EA will be like, here's our Star Wars shooter, here's our, you know, next Joseph Farris game. *00:00* So two weeks. *00:00* You're gonna have to tell me after after we're recording here. *00:00* You know, there's other games I want to play. *00:00* Hi. *00:00* All sorts of things. *00:00* Event predictions, it feels even worse to call it E3 predictions these days, now that it's like dead, dead. *00:00* This is the least excited I've ever been to do this. *00:00* is uh I mean I'm obviously still in the industry. *00:00* They're like, here's the time, here's how long it is, and then right afterward we're going into Starfield. *00:00* And that is I want to start with Nintendo, if we please. *00:00* Because it kind of deals with what we're talking about here. *00:00* That did not happen. *00:00* We are actually, as of this recording, we're a week away from Tears of the Kingdom. *00:00* With Nintendo breaking tradition. *00:00* For Nintendo. *00:00* For the first time in forever, Nintendo's got nothing this summer. *00:00* There's nothing else they they have announced that is coming out after Pikmin that I can think of. *00:00* Detective Pikachu and Kid Icarus Uprising announced they're coming to Switch. *00:00* of the Switch as they get ready to lower it into the ground because these games are done. *00:00* for a very long time. *00:00* In previous years, but you know, screw it. *00:00* Mario and Rabbids, but that's like a strategy game more than anything. *00:00* And, you know, maybe fire red leaf green, which people haven't seen those games in forever. *00:00* Gives us stuff as free money. *00:00* The Super Switch, which is whatever. *00:00* They're Nintendo and they always gotta throw in weird things like look the Joy-Con, you can feel the marble moving around thanks to the haptics, and it's like, okay. *00:00* A la N64 to GameCube or GameCube to Wii. *00:00* Within the next year here, I know you've you've predicted the fall year, but it's after Zelda here, it's it's time. *00:00* fiscal year where uh it goes March to March or April to March, then this would be the start of their fiscal year and this is when they would say things like that. *00:00* It's time to bring back everyone's favorite ape. *00:00* I think, and I think a lot of people also believe that that game is pivoted to development for the Super Switch or whatever that may be. *00:00* 2017? *00:00* But no, it feels it feels like last year I know my prediction was like, oh no Metroid Prime. *00:00* Like that remaster didn't drop for just any reason earlier this year, I don't think. *00:00* pointless anyway. *00:00* I mean the time for them to do that would have been when they released the last collection. *00:00* So and we know they have the Wii emulator like or you know crossover type engine because the Galaxy's on the Switch. *00:00* What if they just like made like a smaller side spin-off game and they went back to working with Nintendo similar to like what they've done with you know Revelations in the past and Zero and *00:00* Do come to light. *00:00* And uh Link Between Worlds. *00:00* Not looked upon. *00:00* the end of the year with the promise of new stuff to come. *00:00* I love it. *00:00* It's bolstered by so many contractors. *00:00* Maybe they did announce it pr properly though. *00:00* But it's just like I mean this could to kind of end cap our the previous little conversation here. *00:00* you know, just willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for the longest time. *00:00* Did you losing me? *00:00* point anymore until they can become more consistent and it's really frustrating. *00:00* Yeah, which I think is good. *00:00* I don't like is Activision all of a sudden gonna make Xbox magically produce good games? *00:00* Uh I'm predicting no show on Fable this time, which is the reverse of what I predicted last year. *00:00* announced so many years in advance, which was what Sony did all during the PS4 was like. *00:00* So yeah, we're just getting so far removed from some of these announcements. *00:00* Like some people are saying that that game's not even going to release until like the final year of the hardware cycle. *00:00* I don't know. *00:00* I won't say entirely new type of game for them because they uh do make huge open world games just instead of people. *00:00* audiences who want to play these games, but it still sucks, you know? *00:00* Oh. *00:00* I could see that. *00:00* It's time for gameplay. *00:00* And for Xbox to be making like a game that I would like to play, really enticing to me. *00:00* Just for fun here, would you like to go through a full list of all of the games that they have coming out that they have said nothing about in the past however many years? *00:00* familiar with as far as their lineup and things. *00:00* Uh there's avowed. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* That was also obvious at the end of Horizon 2. *00:00* Id software will tease its next game, but it's not gonna be don't doom related *00:00* It's great. *00:00* Okay, but never took off in any sort of way. *00:00* Single player heavy game. *00:00* I would like to see what they can uh yeah they've done Wolfenstein. *00:00* Just make something completely new and they're like they're one of the studios within there are a couple studios within Microsoft that I feel like you could just give like a *00:00* Take it over. *00:00* New interpretations of classics. *00:00* And I feel like that's either one of two things. *00:00* you know, where are you gonna cut costs there? *00:00* It's important for them to not change prices until start field. *00:00* Or maybe it's maybe it's smart to spike prices now before Starfield because you know you're gonna get people on the hook regardless with that. *00:00* So I know what you're talking about. *00:00* Revealed for the first time at their showcase next month. *00:00* from the success of the first three games at Chaos Theory to the exclusivity of a conviction. *00:00* Uh I think they keep announcing some of these games so that they can entice talent because imagine if you're a game dev who's like grew up playing Splinter Cell and then they announced that they're remaking Splinter Cell. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* Workshop and something off to the side while they were finishing up Psychonauts 2. *00:00* That too. *00:00* I love when developers make documentaries. *00:00* If we see some of some of the Unreal 5 engine efforts the coalition has been doing. *00:00* So I was looking up Unreal Five. *00:00* remaster or remake a game they haven't touched, like a two or a three, not that I've played these games or have any preference, but *00:00* To the PlayStation Rodeo. *00:00* At the end of May or the beginning of June. *00:00* Again, that feels too cliche though in some ways. *00:00* And I imagine they'll try to do something with Abby, but I don't know what that looks like. *00:00* for like the next eighteen to twenty-four months. *00:00* as well, when he was kind of a you know a hunter, a raider. *00:00* Bring it on. *00:00* That's the case. *00:00* That's six years, which is still a long time. *00:00* I at least agree with they won't show it off until Spider-Man's out. *00:00* Pretty close up until launch because Ragnarok was the same thing. *00:00* But that show's coming the summer, and this could be the first time that we see true overlap between the show and the game. *00:00* Things are close but not quite the same. *00:00* Yeah, and that would be hype. *00:00* There needs to be more. *00:00* We need some big swing titles. *00:00* So United States of America, not likely. *00:00* I never played that Eki Island DLC. *00:00* There were definitely more foxes. *00:00* Who's making it is question number two. *00:00* That's been the rumor though, right? *00:00* I do recall that on PS4. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* Though currently unannounced, we have a clear vision and plan to release. *00:00* shared with other studios eventually, and we've seen that with Golden Abyss or you know, Jack and Daxter, the Frontier game. *00:00* Not that the Frontier game in particular is very good, but I think a new Uncharted game from a new team could work rather well. *00:00* at aid that age. *00:00* cuts of the older movies. *00:00* what it would be, but honestly I have no freaking clue. *00:00* Uh no, I just don't think it will be. *00:00* There's a lot of PlayStation IP they could pull from. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* All right. *00:00* Now, I do think the game is playable entirely single-player, just like the previous ones, and you would just switch between the characters at narrative beats. *00:00* Multiplayer in some capacity, perhaps? *00:00* Other than, you know, obviously Spider-Man and certain things like that. *00:00* And so I j I am more excited about that because it would be new hardware. *00:00* I don't want f you know summer games fest or game fest. *00:00* We're gonna have a new episode of season four, Fast and Furious. *00:00* A lot? *00:00* As a casual Joe Schmo, I'm feeling okay. *00:00* But thank you for joining me again, buddy. *00:00* Exploring in series evolution design and legacy some stuff about that right now. *00:00* I think that segues into like the first thing I wanted to bring up too. *00:00* focal point for the announcements to come in at. *00:00* I I really like that that that doesn't mean I'm not excited for, you know, upcoming games and to see what up people are going to do. *00:00* But yeah, it's so hard with everyone kind of scattershot. *00:00* the week of June fifth through the you know through the ninth. *00:00* And and again, like there's uh to give Jeff credit, like it it's it's it's less of he's not the one running the show with all of this. *00:00* and be at the event. *00:00* Focus. *00:00* No, that was announced. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* Oh, you mean do this right before so Yeah, but you've already you're you're audience. *00:00* Pentiment. *00:00* Well did Nintendo right before though. *00:00* Ah, that's right. *00:00* A couple days off, I think. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* I could I could I could see it. *00:00* outlined the whole year in some sense and they didn't even do that this year. *00:00* Sure, but Mario Hoops 3 on 3, the Mario. *00:00* One of the great GameCube classics to bring forward, it's entirely inaccessible. *00:00* pretty much every Nintendo platform over the past 20 years. *00:00* RPG actually style one of these games for once. *00:00* I think they're going to go right back to the same release strategy that they had with the original Switch because it worked. *00:00* switch to release their consoles in spring windows uh in the past. *00:00* I that would make that cleaner. *00:00* It's easy to convey to people what it is. *00:00* Like, yeah, but they also well, they also screwed that up with how they revealed Wii U to be honest. *00:00* Hopefully, you know, I think the earnings probably are coming up soon. *00:00* Releasing next year is feasible. *00:00* It's time. *00:00* Alright. *00:00* So on and so forth. *00:00* And I think there's some compatibility between them. *00:00* I think if there's I think there's some crossover. *00:00* some of that in there. *00:00* Who knows? *00:00* Well, Ocarine of Time I think ties it does tie into Majora and Wind Waker. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* With id? *00:00* Okay. *00:00* That'd be sick. *00:00* And you don't wanna sit idle like for a decade and just wait for Bethesda to make Fallout 5 in their own time, you know? *00:00* start spreading these things around. *00:00* tech these days, I don't think that they can get their streaming stick down to what it needs to be for them to sell it at retail because you gotta sell the stick and the controller and the controllers are already 60 bucks. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Yep. *00:00* If to come to grips with the engine, they were like, we're gonna remake wet. *00:00* That's what I'm thinking. *00:00* towards this kid that has been introduced. *00:00* They did that in the PS4 generation and it hurt them. *00:00* Just yeah. *00:00* Whereas in part two, there's flashbacks and you play through those. *00:00* It's almost like this is the Godfather part two, where you're going back to Italy, but you're also in the current day, and you're exploring the origins of the Godfather, but where are the Godfathers also now? *00:00* Live service games, and I know that the Last of Us Part One, like we joked about earlier, has to be a little bit more. *00:00* Colin Moriarty's kind of read on this, which is he wonders how much of the part one issues are Iron Galaxy. *00:00* Forbidden West with uh maybe not as much Forbidden West. *00:00* So I don't think they're going to want to show off Wolverine yet for a multitude of reasons. *00:00* Twist this. *00:00* To capitalize on that. *00:00* But the PS3 I think was the last one. *00:00* So I can see it. *00:00* There's just I show me the money, so to speak. *00:00* was the one behind it. *00:00* Demon Souls and Shadow of the Colossus, so very prestigious iconic. *00:00* I don't um Bloodborne's like just the knee-jerk quick one. *00:00* Yeah, well we know how you feel about crazy. *00:00* I think they confirm there is co-op. *00:00* Craven would be too crazy. *00:00* you are a bad Spider-Man hunting down the other one and trying to be fine like fight them, but it doesn't necessarily drive with the combat or whatever, but *00:00* There's things that are just consistent that you can bank on and new ideas and IP, so we'll see how it all shakes out, but as is our time honored tradition, that was it for our *00:00* Do not care. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* figure out what it even is. *00:00* And COVID and basically post-COVID, it shifted to there's the presentation is pre-recorded, but they invite a group of developers who win, you know, lottery or tickets or invited to come out. *00:00* I feel like the date was announced earlier. *00:00* That's it. *00:00* The I would imagine the investment is much lower to porting a done game instead of like coming up with a brand new game. *00:00* I don't have any of these written down, but like I know like the Zelda remasters have been a thing. *00:00* There's a lot of classics on the GameCube that are just stuck. *00:00* synergy I see on the horizon to bring back or not to bring back just to bring those uh Game Boy Advanced games and Game Boy Color and stuff to the subscription service *00:00* It'd be great. *00:00* Yeah, I think that makes sense. *00:00* Invested in Pokemon 2 in a year where it seems like there's clearly not going to be a new game. *00:00* that now. *00:00* Donkey Kong back in the public eye, right? *00:00* But you know, I just feel like that's a lot of Zelda announcements in one year. *00:00* We've kind of reached like the reset point where it's like, okay, cool. *00:00* a year or two. *00:00* Bring it up. *00:00* Lean into this a little bit. *00:00* So something Mario. *00:00* And it doesn't have to be this summer. *00:00* Uh this isn't a prediction, but I'll just come out and say this. *00:00* Great games won't turn the console war around. *00:00* I wrote about this. *00:00* We can predict some in fact I'll segue this into my first prediction right now. *00:00* Just seeing something from the game. *00:00* Oh ooh. *00:00* Granted, it will come to the other platforms. *00:00* All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna lean on one that I've had in previous years. *00:00* Alright. *00:00* Uh Doom and didn't they work on Wolfenstein or am I wrong? *00:00* Rage, they obviously kicked out to somebody else a few years ago. *00:00* a blank check and be like, go nuts, go crazy, we totally trust what you're gonna do. *00:00* Microsoft X and Xbox has so many IP at their disposal now, like they cannot let some of these franchises be sitting for as long as they have. *00:00* So Yeah, they like they need to start those are the kind of things I think Xbox needs to be doing more of. *00:00* And uh everyone will take advantage of that and just, you know, five buddies will share the annual cost and split it up that way. *00:00* I do think Game Pass Family Plan US. *00:00* From a I'm gonna play that game soon. *00:00* Not at all. *00:00* with Xbox in particular, I I I want to see something. *00:00* Lunch break a day keeps the documentary away. *00:00* So it's only a few years. *00:00* Gears collection or a remake master of some sort with Unreal Engine 5 sprinkles on top. *00:00* Uh my formal prediction is Last of Us Part 3 will be announced. *00:00* I think she will try to find redemption via a child. *00:00* porting it to PC. *00:00* Well they promised as much too, you know, like we will show more later this year, like so we know it's on the calendar to see more. *00:00* In fact, I think some of these are pretty basic, but again, I don't I don't know. *00:00* Reunion. *00:00* Asoby feels logical, but Astrobot's not like the big swing, you know? *00:00* There's no reason to buy this thing currently. *00:00* Yeah, which is why they need to have one of these showcase events. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Is going to be announced. *00:00* I think that gets announced as an Uncharted. *00:00* So here's this from last year. *00:00* Uh there's something coming out from the city of San Diego, and I think it's uncharted, so I'm gonna I'm gonna stick with that. *00:00* It's it would be a good game, I think, to announce in general. *00:00* That's what the uh the thing is, that he puts his ring in. *00:00* involve time travel though, which is uh I don't know about that. *00:00* But I saw that trailer again, like before Guardians of the Galaxy last night. *00:00* Often puff his way through this adventure. *00:00* That ain't the that ain't a real man. *00:00* Oh my gosh. *00:00* So that'd be cool. *00:00* KeelyCon is a Spyro supposedly coming back this year. *00:00* Well they have like ghosts that you can race with some of the challenges in these games, but like I think they should just do straight up like *00:00* uh floating pa panels or have spirit powers. *00:00* Have a good run here with new game releases and stuff like that, but I don't know. *00:00* Xbox continuing to trip on its face and then PlayStation just straight up not announcing anything. *00:00* six to twelve months personally with the some surprises sprinkled in, so like I'm not hungry for what I need to play. *00:00* E3 slash summer games slash showcase predictions. *00:00* What what were you gonna say? *00:00* Special edition in July. *00:00* Has it really released on PC properly yet though? *00:00* This, I mean, I I'll segue I had something else up, but I'll segue it what you have said into my next one, which is *00:00* Just keep it the way it like looks. *00:00* Alright, um, I'll do this one. *00:00* Switch super switch game and it's like this game doesn't work on it or whatever. *00:00* I don't know many. *00:00* Big, big, big problem for people. *00:00* Full stop. *00:00* But I think Donkey Kong, if there is a fall game, if there is something for the holiday that's kind of bigger in Nintendo's catalogue, I think Donkey Kon is is that IP. *00:00* This ties into it's not one of my I don't know, I haven't decided actually yet, but like I assume Tears of the Kingdom is gonna get DLC, but it feels way too early to be announcing DLC for that game if it's out in May and I'm operating under the assumption of a summer event. *00:00* guidance for like the next fiscal year, I think, and how their previous one did and all that stuff. *00:00* That's definitely a good call. *00:00* It'll be one of the launch window games for the Switch. *00:00* So Yeah, it's I want it just because I still have my pre-order. *00:00* Omission to be addressed. *00:00* Because I don't think and the reason I say this uh what got me thinking about this is with some of our other prediction I was uh I was thinking like, oh could we get like Resident Evil 9 or something? *00:00* I was so excited for it. *00:00* I think we're slowly seeing it with like 343 and stuff like that. *00:00* I I I don't know. *00:00* Until they show that they can release games on a better at a better cadence, and not only that, but release games that are of a high quality, like *00:00* I mean Starfield's gotta be like the second coming at this point almost. *00:00* Huge story and writing teams too that they don't have. *00:00* Trying to uh entice talent to come work for you. *00:00* I don't I if if there is a price increase, I think it's announced uh in advance and gives people the opportunity to lock in at a lower price. *00:00* And Wolverine, which doesn't have a date, rumored to be actually next year. *00:00* So the baby from the last game is gonna be grown up and she's gonna be in the shoes of Joel from the first game, raising a child in this The Walking Dead season four? *00:00* Maybe they haven't. *00:00* They may as well just go to the next step and just be like, yep, it's what we're doing. *00:00* Keeping the last of us train rolling. *00:00* It's there. *00:00* Maybe. *00:00* I don't know. *00:00* I don't know. *00:00* The hard part is like we know, right? *00:00* Is a lot of that. *00:00* So it just seems like the I don't know, the right game. *00:00* So everyone get your popcorn ready. *00:00* There's what else? *00:00* Dumb summer games website and he still got like all the information from 2022 on the website rather than 2023. *00:00* They weren't amazing either, but at least like I had expectations and I knew what it was, and it was again it was on the calendar so far in advance. *00:00* What publishers are gonna be there that you could go demo a game? *00:00* I uh I have a request for you as we get into doing this. *00:00* I said Avatar Frontiers of Pandora would be shown off on Xbox stage. *00:00* No, it was uh announced, but gameplay wasn't shown off I think to like Game Awards. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* They could really do a lot. *00:00* I just think it they don't want to they don't they don't want to give up on what they've got yet with this like the all the screens will probably be OLED now *00:00* Mm-hmm. *00:00* I'm I'm leaning actually, I think, into one of your yep, one of yours from last year. *00:00* I think if there was going to be a a fall game, I think out of the IP that really aren't super represented on the Switch, Star Fox, F Zero *00:00* Oh. *00:00* Something Mario has gotta gotta come out this year, I think, in the game space. *00:00* Come out firing with this one. *00:00* Dang man. *00:00* Greenberg, something, right? *00:00* why how they were even different. *00:00* Because of the movie, we will hear something about the Indiana Jones game for Xbox from Machine Games. *00:00* And kind of similar to what they did last year, uh Persona 3 remake will be announced at Xbox's showcase. *00:00* I think maybe this is an opportunity to show off like Unreal Engine 5 Tech related to Gears without going in here's Gears of War 6, which was rumored last year to be their next game after canceling a couple other things. *00:00* The Last of Us Part 3 will be formally announced. *00:00* Just as a comparison point for narrative, I know previously it was like this is our godfodfather part two. *00:00* If you buy it digitally, you get a free month of Peacock and you can watch Twisted Metal and their, you know, Anthony Mackey's characters in the game. *00:00* Just to put it on everybody's radar because there hasn't been a new one in like a decade. *00:00* Like late this year, but also winter extends into next year. *00:00* There needs to be more major first party support. *00:00* I hope so. *00:00* What do you what are we gonna do with it? *00:00* But I think they've already teased uh that they're doing another remake though too, I believe. *00:00* online, co-op with your friends, multiplayer games. *00:00* A hundred spides drop onto a Manhattan Island and have to do that. *00:00* That is cool on paper, but I don't think would necessarily. *00:00* Swing races or something like that. *00:00* A little frustrated by it. *00:00* Don't believe that. *00:00* And then I said MetroPrem4 doesn't. *00:00* power super mega whatever will only work on that thing. *00:00* So Twilight Princess on Wii U's like 150 bucks. *00:00* But even then she's playable as giant suit of armor knight. *00:00* Well that would that would be the problem with that too is like they released that do you remember Quake Champions? *00:00* That's where we're at right now with PlayStation. *00:00* show off a new IP, so I think there's a desire for them to have a larger reveal for that m like earlier. *00:00* Sony is building a new internal game dev team in partnership with Visual Arts, and uh the high visibility project is being developed in collaboration with Naughty Dog. *00:00* From major characters is pretty much dead, except for modern. *00:00* And they both got delayed. *00:00* Insomniac announces PSVR 2 game. *00:00* But this ties in with what we were talking about before. *00:00* That whatever they call it though, uh and this is a tall task for Nintendo coming from the company with the new 3DS XL. *00:00* I just think there's power in leaving it. *00:00* Donkey Kong. *00:00* Well then it's probably accurate. *00:00* You could just start mixing and matching like, hey Infinity Ward, you wanna make a Fallout game? *00:00* Can you imagine if a month from now, like, hey, we know Redfall sucked, we would also like to announce that monthly subscriptions are going up five dollars. *00:00* Do I go with my heart or do I go with my brain? *00:00* Alright, here's my uh this one's kind of broad but kind of specific at the same time. *00:00* I think whatever part three ends up being, I think there's multiple protagonists and different periods of time. *00:00* Um yeah, on paper it definitely. *00:00* Which feels so vague, but I feel like with PSVR2 right now, vague kinda is all we have. *00:00* Alright. *00:00* If it yeah, that's the that's the logical step. *00:00* Alright, my final one, and this is the most broad of them all, so I don't really have anything else here. *00:00* Metal Gear Solid 3 is the one being remade too. *00:00* Blue point. *00:00* Not that the Spider-Man, you know, is like the highest piece of storytelling out there, but Insomniac tells a good story with their games. *00:00* It's pretty crap, is my opinion, as somebody who's in the industry and is trying to figure out what this is. *00:00* PlayStation. *00:00* Then I said Bayonetta 3 releases on October 29 28th. *00:00* But poor Team Cherry. *00:00* I get it from a brand perspective of like wanting to keep continuity, right? *00:00* It's a way for them to extract more money out of the game. *00:00* I thought you had that at your house back at home. *00:00* I was I was on a plane all day, yeah. *00:00* Good games. *00:00* In some in some ways I understand it, and this isn't a problem tied specifically to Xbox. *00:00* And I know they've got a lot of other games in the pipeline, but those are the two that I will call out. *00:00* You mentioned it, so I'm gonna I'm gonna jump into this. *00:00* All of this tells me that Game Pass is about to get more expensive. *00:00* In some capacity Gears of War is gonna be there. *00:00* But that's where we stand right now with PlayStation. *00:00* All right. *00:00* Be this lull, this not knowing right now. *00:00* Who knows? *00:00* Do I need to go to this? *00:00* I do appreciate the companies that do keep it in the front half of June though, like Xbox and Ubisoft. *00:00* Abandoned is a screenshot. *00:00* Wolfenstein three officially announced and revealed. *00:00* I like it. *00:00* No Major Nelson? *00:00* Yeah, Matt Boo should probably lose a job. *00:00* What's been annoying is the past year, the entire conversation around Xbox has just been this stupid Activision acquisition. *00:00* Perfect Dark is just like a thing lingering, and I just want it done. *00:00* And a lot of these games have been percolating for a long time, so like when the heck are we gonna see them? *00:00* And maybe that's how they disguise a price bump in Game Pass, but I do think the family plan is announced. *00:00* So there you go. *00:00* Kind of quite frankly, in an awesome way. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* Alright. *00:00* But earlier this year they put out a new ad campaign, that PlayStation. *00:00* Then at least I'm not totally lost. *00:00* It's the one I like the most, so I'm gonna go with it. *00:00* But everyone's like, ah, is it co-op? *00:00* But what would get people to buy more Spider-Man? *00:00* So not a terrible timing synergistically, but at the very least, Spider-Man gameplay, the co-op is the part I don't believe. *00:00* I think it's just vital for Xbox and Sony in particular to tell us what's coming up. *00:00* Nintendo Entertainment and Ten Nintendo Entertainment System Super Nintendo Entertainment System. *00:01* The initiative. *00:01* It's like it's kind of like the total opposite of Sony right now, because Sony's only like, we got Spider-Man and then I don't know. *00:01* I'd like to see more cross-brand promotion or not promotions, but uh more like collaborations with the teams like if I was Matt Booty, I'd be like, I'd call up it and be like, yo, would you *00:01* I think Splinter Cell's remake is on Xbox's stage in some capacity. *00:01* So here's how we already crush my heart. *00:01* And they are quote very early in production. *00:01* I really kinda I really want to watch all of that to be honest with you. *00:01* I think that's what Naughty Dog could show off. *00:01* It this is the part I don't really believe and don't necessarily want. *00:01* Flat out racing people across the city to see who can get their fastest type stuff. *00:01* But thank you all so much for listening to the show. *00:01* Somebody whose job it is to write news. *00:01* I don't I don't know, but like I think a couple months ago that was like popping up again. *00:01* Just bring it to the new the new console. *00:01* We'll see in a week. *00:01* I kind of love the longevity of it. *00:01* Indiana Jones. *00:01* It's a C word. *00:01* And I I I it feels like this is logical, like this is going to happen eventually. *00:01* Psychonauts would have so much interesting history, but uh fifty something parts also sounds like wildly daunting. *00:01* It's so so time. *00:01* Twisted metal times. *00:01* But they're gonna have to go somewhere else. *00:01* I don't know how the timelines line up for that at all. *00:01* It was out in September. *00:01* Yeah. *00:01* So like sure. *00:01* I would like to see it just come up with something entirely new, you know. *00:01* See if it's cooking up anything. *00:01* I'm just gonna go with my head on this one. *00:01* Um all right, we may as well start here because I'm sure we both got something in this vein, so let's just do it. *00:01* Now Naughty Dog's. *00:01* Is it reunion? *00:01* That's uh the focus has obviously been on 16 lately, Final Fantasy 16, um, but that is right around the corner as well, supposedly, according to what Square Enix is saying. *00:01* When does I want to say the 1400? *00:01* Uh Kill Strain was the game, by the way. *00:01* This guy's out here madman. *00:01* That is their year in some senses. *00:01* I'll go with this one. *00:01* And it could tie into DLC and Scarlet Violet. *00:01* Bring back the monkey. *00:01* Back to the ports. *00:01* Like But it'll keep people the people you've got. *00:01* Alright, then go with your heart. *00:01* Horrible. *00:01* I don't know what the status of this would be, but supposedly the reports have said with the Twisted Metal game that has been in the works is that originally what was that like car game, Destruction All-Stars? *00:01* It's just a reboot. *00:01* From just a me as a consumer side, I'm feeling okay. *00:01* I'm okay. *00:01* I I I don't I don't I'm not thrilled this year, to be honest. *00:01* I don't want I don't believe them. *00:01* NES. *00:01* And I think I think when it does appear, I I mean I didn't write this down really, but uh I think it will be *00:01* Last one, buddy. *00:01* That's a scoop. *00:01* Yeah, maybe. *00:01* I could see them throwing a lot of Game Pass money in because those games did come to Game Pass. *00:01* I just think that's where the announcement could happen. *00:01* I'm interested in the idea more spoilers for part two, more just like moments in it, but I'm kind of interested in this idea of playing at different periods of time. *00:01* And we could see a PS5 version with that, although that would be just so oh my gosh, I'm dying over here. *00:01* I'm not a not a mission, not a cutscene, none of that. *00:01* Which is like one of the worst teasers ever, to be totally honest with you. *00:01* But I think that visual arts team it was located out of San Diego as well, if I'm correct. *00:01* Nothing. *00:01* Maybe a collection. *00:01* I don't know if it's a double pack. *00:01* Actually at E3 2019 there were leaks, but it was formally announced in July of 2020, so it's been a while. *00:01* Compulsion's the other one. *00:01* That'd be cool. *00:01* Yep. *00:01* They're they're kind of interesting, kind of popular. *00:01* I was gonna say any last reg comments from yourself? *00:01* I don't know if I can tell like my job is like trying to decide if we should fork over the money to, you know, pay for flights and hotel to go to the stuff. *00:01* We got close with Last of Us Part One where they said it's coming to PC. *00:01* When they do show off the super switch, whenever that is, like let's say this fall or early next year *00:01* It's the only 3D Mario game not on the Switch. *00:01* It's not looked upon fondly, but I love it very much. *00:01* They are losing me. *00:01* There'll be a link in the show notes. *00:01* They bring all their games to PC. *00:01* Remember when they were like, and Xbox Live Gold's dead? *00:01* Just have Michael Ironside show up and say some Yeah, just like I feel like there's some way they could celebrate Splinter Cell a bit more, you know? *00:01* I don't know. *00:01* I could see it. *00:01* There needs to be some big Sony first party like show Sony is investing game dev resources into the headset, not just soliciting it from *00:01* You're saying Mads Mickelson looks like a Nazi? *00:01* I think this is the final year for Switch. *00:01* Where's basketball was only ever Yeah, that was only ever on DS that one time. *00:01* Like so. *00:01* So whenever they come to show up with this game again, they need to be ready this time around. *00:01* Just great, good, great games. *00:01* Okay. *00:01* But they've brought in those square Enix teams to help support it, which sounds really bad. *00:01* I would like to see them just kinda go nuts. *00:01* So I would yeah, I would absolutely just tell them to go crazy. *00:01* I'm at the very least, they've had the nugget of what this is going to be as a goal-wise since like twenty seventeen in their hiring video. *00:01* What do you got for me? *00:01* And then there's some press as well. *00:01* Redfall was supposed to launch last year. *00:01* Alright, so I'm leading off with a classic sort of like almost anti-prediction, which I do sometimes. *00:01* By the way, uh Nintendo's physical year does go from April to March. *00:01* So I think them releasing that earlier this year was strategic and they're trying to get people back and invested in that series. *00:01* They got the collection. *00:01* There was the biggest game. *00:01* So I don't know how legitimate some of that those rumors and stuff have been over the past couple of years, but I could see it. *00:01* And it was horrible at launch. *00:01* Like I do think though that the family plan will be a way to disguise it. *00:01* There is a wondering, but Naughty Dog, almost like M. *00:01* I remember they showed it off the first remake part at a Sony. *00:01* Yeah, I guess PS five was out by that time, but still like. *00:01* So it's like I'm okay with that if they get it all up front, but like And I heard a lot of it was referenced from older stuff they had film from back in the day. *00:01* One thing that could come back this year is uh this isn't a prediction necessarily, but this has been teased elsewhere. *00:01* I feel like that almost impact the storytelling, you know. *00:01* Gameplay at the Xbox showcase with no date. *00:01* And then last but not least, and then we can use this to segue into Nintendo. *00:01* Uh there will probably be like new little things like that that they'll add to the follow-up switch too that weren't seen in the original, but like uh none of it will be like a big deal, I imagine. *00:01* Like it Donkey Khan just makes the most sense there. *00:01* It's a bunch of he well, I don't know if I would say it's bad, I'd say it's good. *00:01* It was announced in 2020 at their uh so it was the COVID year, but there were leaks about it in 2019. *00:01* Um Here's a weird one or maybe not a weird one. *00:01* That makes sense. *00:01* You don't e even if you go to Keely Con. *00:01* And then the Kid Icarus uprising rumors are just swirling and swirling. *00:01* Yes. *00:01* I get what you I get what you're saying now. *00:01* I feel like there's gotta be something Mario. *00:01* But I wouldn't really consider Wind Waker like a sequel or anything. *00:01* Um there's uh we could get into a whole thing about Microsoft and Xbox and some of their problems because I think I think Microsoft's structure *00:01* Like they need to put up or shut up. *00:01* It is time, man. *00:01* I looked up I looked up earlier like upcoming Xbox Studios games because I'm this is the company I'm least *00:01* So that's one, two, three, four, five. *00:01* But they were like, it's over. *00:01* Now, maybe it's the other way around, where it comes the shows this summer, and then later this fall is Twisted Metal game, and you keep the Twisted Metal conversation, whatever that is, going, but *00:01* I mean if they don't come out and say anything big about this at their showcase, which I feel like they will, but like there is no *00:01* He's on Twitter at Moreman12. *00:01* Because like without a centerpiece for all of these kind of events and announcements to go around, I just *00:01* And I and I know a lot of this stuff has started to congregate more within late May, early June window of whatever the heck you know Keeley does and the other companies do, but still I uh *00:01* There's no way now to get those classic Pokemon up into modern eras. *00:01* And there'll be some probably new funky little uh riffs on it, little ideas that Nintendo implements because *00:01* Uh I just I find it very funny. *00:01* So I think that's gonna be announced. *00:01* And you know, a lot of people think the new Tears of the Kingdom is tied to Skyward Sword in some way, mostly just because most of the game is in the sky. *00:01* I'll save my other favorite for last then. *00:01* It differentiates themselves from PlayStation because at the start of the PS4 and Xbox One Gin it was like *00:01* Yeah. *00:01* Is it? *00:01* It's Ghost 2. *00:01* I think this Uncharted game is the only game that's not identifiable in that ad campaign. *00:01* Why not bloodborne? *00:01* So excited to come back again next year, Logan, and see what we got right, what we got wrong, and our future ahead with uh all the games we get to play, all the news you get to write. *00:01* I was gonna say you should announce that you should say what these are before we give our new predictions, if that makes sense. *00:02* This is it. *00:02* Here's my thing with the Zelda ports though. *00:02* There's Everwild, which who knows what the freak is up with that game. *00:02* I think they've basically said they're done with Doom. *00:02* Take over Master Chief. *00:02* Finally time is what he's screaming. *00:02* There is a history of that. *00:02* I think is the next one. *00:02* Sony is building a new development team in collaboration with its Visual Arts studio and Naughty Dog to make a triple A video game. *00:02* The problem is I don't believe this what I wrote down a hundred percent. *00:02* I don't think there's co-op in this game. *00:02* Do I not need to go to this? *00:02* Yeah. *00:02* I'm pulling it up. *00:02* Switch one, whatever they're gonna move on. *00:02* So we haven't seen Paper Mario in was that was that was that 2020? *00:02* Yeah. *00:02* And I hope for our sake, tease for whoever's listening to this and also listens our other podcast. *00:02* Bummer. *00:02* I guess I'll be like you at some point the rest of this year. *00:02* I mean he does stuff, but he's more just kind of like uh Those are the people I think of at Xbox, like the the the faces of it at least. *00:02* I didn't I didn't outline how she gets a hold of this child. *00:02* And I think it will be a much shorter turnaround for them. *00:02* Well they also brought unj I I think it's worth noting, they brought Uncharted to PC and it was fine and it was great. *00:02* And so they have to to accept the blame. *00:02* Like it's very weird. *00:02* I think it would be cool to see them do something besides the baseball. *00:02* Well, they like confirmed the time for it. *00:02* What is going on? *00:02* This is what I get for not double checking. *00:02* Nope. *00:02* Ragnarok. *00:02* Alright, I said Half-Life Alex coming to PSVR2. *00:02* I mean it I think it's just time for that to happen, to be honest. *00:02* I just think they're content with just being like, eh, they don't really care. *00:02* They're pivoting to Unreal, right? *00:02* I I thought that was right. *00:02* That's my heart prediction. *00:02* I think that makes sense because Double Fine is uh released some smaller-ish games in the past. *00:02* I you know, I think it's co-op. *00:02* We need to go somewhere else. *00:02* Well didn't they didn't that wasn't San Diego or no, it was the uh uh it was the visual arts studio, I guess, that was doing the remake of Last of Us, wasn't it? *00:02* Gotta war Ragnarok at September 22 launch date. *00:02* That makes your next four predictions for Nintendo very interesting. *00:02* So I I agree. *00:02* I think the problem they really do I was thinking about this as I wrote this down though. *00:02* I think that's like suicide if they don't make it back compat. *00:02* It's Tropical Freeze, and it's one of the best 2D platformers ever made, but it's a Wii U game. *00:02* Metroid Prime 4 will be shown off finally and it will release next year, 2024. *00:02* If you go to Nintendo's job postings and look at stuff in Texas, it's all forget that. *00:02* I think they will show a trailer and gameplay and they'll be like, no, this exists. *00:02* They did. *00:02* That's a steal. *00:02* I know Frank O'Connor left the studio. *00:02* And I think Xbox is at least differentiating themselves now enough to where they are offering greatly different things and I like that. *00:02* It's always been known for its uh multiplayer stuff. *00:02* Now. *00:02* They have the experience and the resources. *00:02* So okay. *00:02* Invade your game. *00:02* The Jotnar. *00:02* That's still when we were calling it Breath of the Wild 2 or the sequel. *00:02* So that was it. *00:02* I think that would be too much work. *00:02* Super NES. *00:02* Cause you know, there's like new 3DS games that only work on the new 3DS, not old 3DS. *00:02* I mean the whole Resident Evil series is on Switch too. *00:02* Ah, Major Nelson, of course. *00:02* I've been around in the Xbox ecosystem for like 15 years, but like it's like I just don't see the *00:02* Sure. *00:02* Alright. *00:02* Drux obviously getting asked about it constantly. *00:02* Okay. *00:02* And Sony and Square tight. *00:02* Blood something? *00:02* Yeah, they said I think they said uh I think most of his like D age stuff in that movie is like in the first I I heard it's like the first twenty to thirty minutes. *00:02* It's a week after Zelda, yeah. *00:02* I can't remember. *00:02* It did happen. *00:02* Aaron Greenberg? *00:02* It was announced I think in 20 and then released in 21. *00:02* Alright, well. *00:02* Insomniac is better than uh Naughty Dog, is what I'm saying. *00:02* And I again we're five weeks out. *00:02* But anyway. *00:02* Well no, I think you're thinking of 2020. *00:02* I I don't have all these predictions written down, but I mean I really just just do think it will be switch to essentially. *00:02* It didn't help that it used the same controllers either. *00:02* Oh, yeah. *00:02* So anyway, I think there's gonna be some crossover there between Zelda and the DLCs and the remakes, and again, kind of maybe pad out. *00:02* Because that's percolate that's percolating out there, and we know it seems like that's definitely happening. *00:02* And I know the coalition announced they were moving to Unreal End and Vive. *00:02* And I'm not saying Alex. *00:02* Lynn from just like a nostalgic kind of Yeah. *00:02* So I feel okay not knowing what's coming and just kind of having an open calendar, so to speak. *00:02* Not too bad. *00:02* I don't believe them. *00:02* That was not true. *00:02* Home console or on the go. *00:02* That's I've had to change the address on it now three times. *00:02* What is it? *00:02* Which I bought the other day and it came in the mail for me. *00:02* Okay. *00:02* I'm gonna I have two I think I'm gonna go with, but I'm gonna I'm gonna stick with me and what I I would be known for. *00:02* That's not a real person. *00:02* Not that it's like a super serious game with its story, but we're just like laughing and cracking jokes during all the cutscenes. *00:02* You can find Logan. *00:02* New Sly Cooper game? *00:02* It can be a CG trailer. *00:02* It is, man. *00:02* I wanna I want to remind the listener. *00:02* We have told you. *00:02* It's twisted metal time. *00:02* Okay. *00:02* Didn't happen. *00:02* So I I got very lucky with that. *00:02* I just think it's going to be like whatever people have been thinking the Switch Pro is going to be. *00:02* It'll have been five years next January that they announced that they were restarting development. *00:02* I don't know if they're sold individually. *00:02* Is it a C? *00:02* Like let's say this Activision act acquisition goes through like *00:02* So I feel like Well now is not now in the wake of them bombing with some of their exclusives is not the time to raise the price on Game Pass. *00:02* Mine is factions related. *00:02* And I'm talking light peas. *00:02* Sony PlayStation Studios is they're gonna I don't know how to phrase this. *00:02* Like real time, like I know sometimes you can like race other. *00:02* I do hope they don't remaster it in the sense of like that actual construction paper style that is an origami king. *00:02* I don't think that'll be the actual name, but it should be a little bit more than a lot of things. *00:02* So Yeah, everybody else is everybody else is turned over there at Xbox at one point or another, it seems like, and he's still kicking on. *00:02* Indiana Jones, same thing. *00:02* So I did look at some stuff. *00:02* I think of the God of War documentaries a lot, The Last of Us. *00:02* She's in a dark spot. *00:02* I'm working on a game in addition to the show. *00:02* Logan, I've I've been all about corporate synergy. *00:02* No. *00:02* Cause the PS2 one I remember is twisted metal black. *00:02* I don't know where, but Okay. *00:02* Would it? *00:02* I don't know. *00:02* This is the year. *00:02* That's the problem. *00:02* In a continuing attempt to entice Japanese audiences. *00:02* Yeah. *00:02* I'm not sure. *00:02* Fourteen ninety two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. *00:02* Nope. *00:02* I don't feel like they've ever really tied the games together. *00:02* He was basic Phil Spencer said, you know, even if we released eleven out of ten Starfield, like people aren't. *00:02* Because they were virtually the same exact thing. *00:02* I was just wonder where the depth is there. *00:02* So if they come back with Quake and they're just like, it's multiplayer again. *00:02* All we know that they have in the pipeline is Spider-Man 2, which is rumored for September release. *00:02* They'll have to show what happens to Abby because Yes. *00:02* Never touched it. *00:02* This is so odd. *00:03* Okay. *00:03* That wouldn't happen until this year, actually, so it did come true. *00:03* Suggsong did show up. *00:03* I think they are going to do literally the exact same thing they did with the Switch. *00:03* Even if it makes sense on like the hardware side or the logistics side or something like that. *00:03* I feel like Matt Booty needs to lose his job at some point soon if they don't turn things around. *00:03* That's the cut to come full circle. *00:03* Redfall's a stinker. *00:03* Like they don't care about strict Xbox sales. *00:03* I mean, yeah, and we know that's coming. *00:03* Those games are cool. *00:03* Uh but yeah, I think uh I think they'll show it off teaser trailer, similar thing that they did with, you know, Spider-Man last time, like *00:03* I think it's the long-rumored Sony San Diego. *00:03* The Last of Us or Remake Remake. *00:03* I'm living vicariously through him. *00:03* Maybe. *00:03* And I and they'll still have some stuff releasing later this year. *00:03* I I do not think about it. *00:03* I just think the Switch brand name is too strong. *00:03* And they just put a Fire Emblem game out too. *00:03* It's free money. *00:03* Uh the initiative. *00:03* It's either that streaming stick that has been in development for a long time, uh, but they just haven't been able to get the price down. *00:03* And then everyone was in a fury. *00:03* And they've been staffing up for this for a long time. *00:03* Marvel's Wolverine won't be shown off at all, but it will be mentioned during Sony's presentation. *00:03* And like, they'll mention it and they'll acknowledge it, but I don't think they're gonna want to show it off even a little bit until Spider-Man's out. *00:03* I could even see though little Wolverine T's, little Wolverine T's in the game. *00:03* But this could be the opportunity to actually have things stack up. *00:03* Or they were. *00:03* It's Uncanny Valley for sure. *00:03* Uh so you go check out all his work there and then of course you can check out my work over at max frequency *00:03* What's the deal? *00:03* Indiana Jones show noff? *00:03* And they just saw it's just free money. *00:03* But that feels like such a waste on the Switch. *00:03* Two Switch follow-up super switch. *00:03* They did. *00:03* Probably. *00:03* Alright. *00:03* Oh, it is Cinco de Mayo. *00:03* I uh And Druck's been teasing that they've uh you know, we've decided our next project, we know what it is, we're working on it. *00:03* I guess that's where my like stuff to talk about. *00:03* I think we see Pokemon on NSO. *00:03* So that's when the the NX was announced, right? *00:03* At least not in the normal way. *00:03* Oh, if I do, I'll just sell it. *00:03* This guy out here, highway robbery. *00:03* Which I think is the turnover on that is then you bring in new contractors and they've got to learn *00:03* And that like Redfall has put even more pressure on Starfield. *00:03* It's like ugly. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* That would be finally gonna happen. *00:03* I don't know. *00:03* Uh that needs a more full trailer to like get the true vibe of the show, I think. *00:03* No. *00:03* Simple as that. *00:03* They make some good games. *00:03* They're lying. *00:03* I still believe this, but it denied it. *00:03* And my prediction is Nintendo ain't gonna have nothing all summer. *00:03* That's entering like remake territory if you're changing. *00:03* And it's you've moved three times before the discount, you know. *00:03* Alright. *00:03* So I think that's that's gonna do it. *00:03* And sure. *00:03* I have been so patient with them. *00:03* And I'm excited about some of the stuff they have coming in the pipeline. *00:03* And yeah, you're right, like PlayStation did the same thing, but PlayStation would then at least, you know, come out and show those things within a span of two to three years. *00:03* I just call it part two. *00:03* I g so yeah. *00:03* Yes, I know. *00:03* Enemy Spider-Man? *00:03* So that means all the conferences around it and it's it's on the call calendar so far in advance. *00:03* And it's like, dude, you're we're like five weeks out and I have no idea what this is. *00:03* And then the week, all week long there's develop hands-on developer training and courses and and *00:03* Well, before we do that, I wanted to quickly, very quickly, just go over what we predicted last year. *00:03* But there was concept art. *00:03* It came out on Oh, it did. *00:03* Like there's just a lot of potential there. *00:03* It's gonna be Donkey Kong. *00:03* No, gosh, no, that'll never happen. *00:03* You know, like in a Pokemon game, if you have a you know a certain save from a previous game, you'll you'll get a special Pokemon in a new game. *00:03* I remember in Breath of the Wild, if you tapped like the Majora's Mask amiibo, you would get a Majora's Mask themed item or so on and so forth. *00:03* Can you tell me what's going on with the companies that you own? *00:03* So this is probably just it's dead. *00:03* I forget when Ghost of Tsushima takes place. *00:03* Definitely more collectibles and more haikus and things, but one can hold. *00:03* Like, I don't know. *00:03* Because Craven's in the game. *00:03* I don't know. *00:03* Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remastered launches in late 2023. *00:03* But it has to sell for it to be the free money. *00:03* And three DS is probably the best little jump transition they've ever made between two systems like that that are similar. *00:03* Is it's like I'd rather just have them mass dump ports or whatever. *00:03* Like again, like a Zelda, a new Zelda's coming out. *00:03* I uh Jason Schreier wrote about it over at Bloomberg. *00:03* Like it's not even it's not it's not even a console war thing. *00:03* So that's my first one. *00:03* I I don't think Sega would be an exclusivity deal there. *00:03* It's either there or Jeffrey Khan. *00:03* Bring it on. *00:03* Do it. *00:03* So I think this is very far away, unfortunately. *00:03* It's a too but it it would make it full circle. *00:03* And I imagine that kid is going to have like I'm yeah, just thinking about the the key pieces that they have involved like with what they can do in the future. *00:03* And I think they're going to announce that it is coming to PC day and date with the PS5 version. *00:03* Like people thought that game was gonna get delayed last year and they're like, we haven't even seen gameplay yet. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* I don't know if that's Uncharted 5 or if that's Uncharted Colon. *00:03* Yeah, I just don't think it'll be co-op story-wise, at least. *00:03* I'm I'm hungry for news and knowing what the future holds. *00:03* Uh everyone, Logan and I do another show here on Max Frequency Chapter Select. *00:03* Like it's it's very I I I don't like the endless summer of gaming *00:03* I firmly believe direct, no major showcase of any sorts. *00:03* Um wildly different games from Zelda and Pikmin, but kinda had like their two, you know, notable-ish IP, one actually quite large and one new, and then anyway. *00:03* Well then and they keep showing that they want to do more and more with Paper Mario. *00:03* I'm sure they will. *00:03* Who knows? *00:03* And I made this last year as well. *00:03* Actually running, playing the whole kit and caboodle. *00:03* Or just, you know, let's just have it make Halo. *00:03* Alright. *00:03* It was only in November that they sat down for the 20th anniversary and showed up like concept art. *00:03* I s I think it was Patrick Klepik in his I think it was in his Star Wars piece, where he was saying that his lunch breaks were *00:03* Like that's just one of those great, like, two consoles battling with their big IP games. *00:03* So like you may as well just tell everybody and just formally make it clear Naughty Dog is last of us central until further notice. *00:03* Hanging in there. *00:03* I am your host, Max Robertson, joining me, returning this time. *00:03* I don't know, I don't think that happened. *00:03* I don't know. *00:03* It did come out last year. *00:03* Still waiting. *00:03* I d you know, some some good ones, a lot of whiffs, I think. *00:03* Yeah, the Mario. *00:03* With the Super Mario Brothers movie. *00:03* It's time for Nintendo to write their runs. *00:03* They got the NSOs. *00:03* That's the same thing. *00:03* The movie this year, like, come on. *00:03* So I could see it. *00:03* But to tie in with that, those HD ports *00:03* And they're they did say our online horizon game, so like that's coming and the so the horizon remake. *00:03* Um I'll not at the Keely Con. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* With Ragnarok though, and now clearly with Spider-Man, they are holding these gameplay reveals until like *00:03* They were making hands. *00:03* Yes. *00:03* I don't know what to predict to some of these. *00:03* I mean, just uh we we do this every year, we've done this every year for quite a long time, going back to our old show. *00:03* My day job is to write about this stuff. *00:03* You know what E3 at least you knew Activision is gonna be there, EA's gonna be there, Ubisoft's gonna be there. *00:03* But I'm gonna give you the first three parties because fur three first party games, because Xbox was announcing everything early. *00:03* Yeah, that's vapor. *00:03* I think Zelda is the f swan song of the console. *00:03* Um we haven't so I think if they if I think if they bring that one back and it does super well, maybe it could convince them like, hey, maybe we should do another *00:03* So And what was I gonna say? *00:03* So highs and low points. *00:03* Timely for us. *00:03* And I'm like, well, what's something they could do with it in the coming year? *00:03* So excited. *00:03* I wrote about this. *00:03* Like it's not going to make the deficit up. *00:03* Yeah, the whip of wisdom. *00:03* That game has been in development forever. *00:03* Just like a oh. *00:03* I think it's close-ish. *00:03* But still, like it's not a I'm not saying it's a good excuse, but at least Sony at least had a big old presentation before they released the PS5 hardware though, and you know, God of War and *00:03* That's what I'm hearing. *00:03* Yep. *00:03* Why are you afraid to commit? *00:03* Oh, you can play with your friend as Spider-Man. *00:03* Fast tense coming out here actually like in two weeks. *00:03* Check out all the predictions and links to stuff we talked about in the show notes. *00:03* All all the publishers are kind of autonomous on their own and they're doing their own things and setting up their own stuff. *00:03* I think that is true. *00:03* But like they are not doing a big ol' presentation to show what is coming to the Switch. *00:03* And another recent rumor we had recently, I feel like we've predicted this. *00:03* Especially since like the Mario and Luigi games are dead now. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* So I'm gonna blend a couple. *00:03* I think some or I don't know if they announced it properly. *00:03* But exactly. *00:03* Yeah, yeah. *00:03* There's a history of Splinter Cell on Xbox. *00:03* Well, it's time for to hop on your Sony pony. *00:03* Oh. *00:03* I mean clearly what it is now is different than yes, I understand, but like *00:03* You better hope so as uh as someone who ends the headset. *00:03* They sure haven't given you one. *00:03* We've got exciting stuff coming up here also in June for that show, so *00:03* And you know, there's other games that are gonna be announced here. *00:03* So they're just gonna punt on summer announcements. *00:03* I do agree with you for the most part, and that'll lead me into my first prediction here. *00:03* I understand that game's early, probably still. *00:03* And I think the family plan is a way to smooth that transition. *00:03* And everyone's like, what? *00:03* There's no date announced. *00:03* And so now I give it to you, Logan, your first PlayStation prediction for the summer. *00:03* We'll tell you more in the future. *00:03* Okay. *00:03* There's clearly a story mode to this game and some. *00:03* The reason I say I don't know how uh much you've been following this stuff, and maybe it could *00:03* I I think it'll formally they'll be like, no, it's actually 2024. *00:03* Yeah, I just hope the CGI doesn't look too bad. *00:03* You gotta call your shot. *00:03* He's over on comicbook. *00:03* Anything else? *00:03* I mean, right now, we only have dates for a couple of events. *00:04* Like I it's very bizarre. *00:04* Tighten things up. *00:04* Starfield was probably there. *00:04* Oh gosh. *00:04* They've had stuff on the GameCube obviously as well. *00:04* On top of the $70 price tag. *00:04* I think Kiki Wolfkill left the studio. *00:04* Yeah, it's been Commander Keen was their first game. *00:04* Go crazy. *00:04* Resident Evil, so on and so forth. *00:04* I love it, but I'm talking Sony money. *00:04* You reviewed it. *00:04* Kill Strain, yeah. *00:04* Anyway, Uncharted. *00:04* That's the big rumor, but that's from uh I want to say a Chinese developer. *00:04* I don't think there's line with that. *00:04* And uh that that'll kick off my first prediction, which is uh I'm leaning into two rumors in one. *00:04* It's not going to be the new 3D Mario game. *00:04* I could see it either way, honestly. *00:04* So we'll we'll bounce up here to Xbox Phil Spencer. *00:04* Yes. *00:04* It's it's time we need a name. *00:04* This has been flowing around. *00:04* New release window. *00:04* In its defense, they also aren't talking about what the future of PS5. *00:04* No, I'm saying he's good plays a great villain. *00:04* They are in the soul of camp. *00:04* I almost did the exact opposite of this prediction and leaned into it is fully 100% single play. *00:04* I don't know. *00:04* Again, I think I said mine up front, but just like I wish I was more excited for the next couple months. *00:04* So that's coming up. *00:04* Focus it into at least one month instead of three, maybe two weeks, but *00:04* You really think it's gonna be called that? *00:04* As long because at least in the the Wii GameCube sense, it was backward compatible. *00:04* We'll see. *00:04* We just had a Kirby game. *00:04* Now I'm just cleaning onto it for the joke, you know? *00:04* You have to use past tents when talking about it. *00:04* And Sega and Xbox have a good relationship between the Yakuza games and and Sonic and you know all the Sega stuff. *00:04* I think it was Avalanche, yeah. *00:04* We know you're gonna make Elder Scrolls VI afterwards, that's also great. *00:04* That people have been using for years. *00:04* But uh so part I don't think they will announce like and this is what we're working on next because *00:04* I think their focus is this factions game first. *00:04* So I think this could be uncharted, uh, but it sounds like they are just now working on it. *00:04* Yeah, that's like they it's so weird. *00:04* I'd like to see them remake like something crazy. *00:04* So I can yeah, so I can write about it and do my job. *00:04* So I don't think we'll have a dog jumping on my arm during this recording like we have some others. *00:04* Like, I don't know if it's been the same way for you, but like this has been like you're like, don't forget to throw together your predictions. *00:04* No man, there was a demo. *00:04* It's a reboot. *00:04* Like I think a pretty reputable like insider said like oh no like that's like actually happening now. *00:04* I don't either. *00:04* I think within the coming month, I think we will finally see more of a vowed in state of decay three. *00:04* Like they got the resources now at Microsoft are really *00:04* This kind of goes with what we were talking about earlier though, and that when they announced that game, it was very much a *00:04* To some degree, yeah. *00:04* So I think the best way to do that is to just lean into her being a mother figure. *00:04* And then it's been splintered off into this huge ambitious *00:04* We'll show you gameplay another time. *00:04* Yes. *00:04* But just at Xbox. *00:04* I mean, they're working on a lot of stuff. *00:04* Like they brought back soccer, golf, tennis, basketball? *00:04* I think we see that game has been rumored forever. *00:04* It's brutal out there, man. *00:04* That guy knows what he is doing. *00:04* So it's like, cool. *00:04* Like it's getting I think the thing that's been and then we still haven't done a prediction, but the thing that's been frustrating too is like *00:04* Initi what? *00:04* Cause I do want to watch it. *00:04* And it's it's rough shape, man. *00:04* It's been a decade. *00:04* Super tight. *00:04* Uh ghost of Tokyo. *00:04* Right? *00:04* Uh I don't know. *00:04* Too long, Jeff. *00:04* Nintendo's the odd one out with their end of life, like we spoke so much about. *00:04* Because I know you always like to tuck them away for last, but I wanna this kind of if you would like, I we can launch right into Nintendo here and I can give you my first prediction here. *00:04* You know I wouldn't be opposed to a new name. *00:04* I'm gonna blend some I've got here. *00:04* Um, and I think Staten is like one of the good guys that they should have kept if they could have afforded to retain him because he clearly knows what he's doing. *00:04* The rumor is they're going back to Quake, which would be very fascinating to see what they can do with that in modern context. *00:04* It it it is a legacy studio that, you know, has worked on *00:04* Cool. *00:04* Uh if your heart involves banjo, I think we need to have a come to Jesus moment. *00:04* So alright. *00:04* The game, based on the teaser, will center around an older version of Ellie. *00:04* Now you all can stop asking. *00:04* Uh Venom would be the the closer analogy, but that kind of just conceptually cool of like *00:04* Yeah. *00:04* It's that was the fun part, but just having it be these three months of *00:04* I love that by the way, Keely Con. *00:04* But I'm just I'm gonna go through the list real quick. *00:04* Yeah, it's the only game where Zelda is technically a playable character. *00:04* I forget about him sometimes. *00:04* That's the big RPG game. *00:04* Bring it on perfect dark. *00:04* I don't want to say them. *00:04* Our annual E3 prediction summer game *00:04* It's like, ah, a plan, vision. *00:04* That's vaporware, in my opinion. *00:04* That's what mean by Square Enix anyway. *00:04* I'm hopeful it works. *00:04* Which would be pretty exciting. *00:04* Five's multiplayer was good. *00:04* So D did you watch the interview with Kinda Funny yesterday? *00:04* I have that written down. *00:04* Like Sure. *00:04* And then a day later they're like, ah, we didn't think about this. *00:04* I think it's time for the Gears of War collection. *00:04* And I wonder I wonder *00:04* They were, and then it shifted hands. *00:04* My next one. *00:04* It's solid way to launch, but *00:04* But like looking further down the road, it's like I don't know. *00:04* You've been traveling. *00:04* And it's the reverse of what I know we normally do. *00:04* Has any game really released properly on PC? *00:04* Logan, I'm gonna throw it over to you, sir. *00:04* Well Game Boy to Game Boy Advance. *00:04* I think it does have to be that. *00:04* That's not happening. *00:04* And like heads are rolling over there. *00:04* I am going to pick kind of a a game pass prediction here. *00:04* Oh, wow. *00:04* We're getting too many questions. *00:04* Like uh you go to a bar and there's a cigar there and they talk about a man with metal claws. *00:04* Unless you're going over there to fight the pilgrims. *00:04* I forget what the dialogue destiny in the Harrison Ford Indiana Jones film seems like it's kinda *00:04* We've got we're wrapping up Resident Evil season five. *00:04* I think you're thinking of 2021. *00:04* So You're not right end of life. *00:04* I like that name a lot though. *00:04* But I mean, this is their, if I'm correct, I can't remember how their physical year is structured, but if they're on a *00:04* Yes, that is. *00:04* Uh but it'll be like a new Mario Kart, a new whatever. *00:04* I think in the sense of like tap this amiibo and you get a special themed item. *00:04* Cause I think uh off the top of my head, I don't know if any of these names mean anything to you. *00:04* Or I would imagine they don't have. *00:04* There you go. *00:04* It starts with a C man. *00:04* They their tech, I think their engine backs Wolfenstein. *00:04* I mean at the very least a Halo shooter spin-off from it would be sick. *00:04* Night Shyamalan, is taking all of the credit and like the face value of *00:04* I know I know they're working on their own original IP. *00:04* It's craven. *00:04* I kinda wanna try Spirit Tracks because I know it's so wild. *00:04* And it will draw more people to your service. *00:04* Yeah. *00:04* They could get they could get Harrison Ford to show up in the Xbox event. *00:04* Like not that that would necessarily make any sense, but like those are the kind of things I would like to see them doing, like passing these IP around between the studios a bit more. *00:04* Not that it really matters because they want you to subscribe to Game Pass anyway. *00:04* Like they've shown things off. *00:04* Like it it continues to look better, but still every time I see it, I'm like, hmm. *00:04* God, please just at least unify everything into one simple name. *00:04* You do anything else? *00:04* I don't remember at all. *00:04* Which makes it s uh even worse. *00:04* Ha ha. *00:04* Metroid Prime 4, still nowhere to be found. *00:04* It's just a matter of the port work, which is difficult and takes time, but *00:04* Uh supposedly they might port the other two Metroid Prime games at some point. *00:04* This has been rumored for a while, right? *00:04* Link Between Worlds? *00:04* But yeah, let's run the list. *00:04* And they're one of them. *00:04* Alright. *00:04* However, you celebrate. *00:04* Well uh for a long time. *00:04* But he's uh been upfront about this stuff, so they may as well just get a writer's room. *00:04* Like, so there's some overlap between the media, you know, and Grant Charismo last year, but the movie's out this year, so *00:04* That was actually, yeah, I actually did play that. *00:04* Maybe some I haven't even told you about yet. *00:04* You know, there's something about I think of *00:04* Nope. *00:04* But I've already started Xbox. *00:04* Uh infamous games, speaking of Sucker Punch, featuring Cole, no Sucker Punch at all. *00:04* I guess 3D land is technically not there and that could be one of those 3DS ports to carry it to its grave, but *00:04* This is timely for us. *00:04* I think that DLC Four Tears of the Kingdom will be announced at some point. *00:04* Like we've seen this with uh I know Quanti Dream's Star Wars game was like another instance of that. *00:04* And then afterward, like a couple months afterwards. *00:04* And I think there's something there now that we have this Anna cold open from the show. *00:04* Real bad. *00:04* Remake part two will be shown off for the first time at Sony's next event. *00:04* Yes. *00:04* I mean, should it be? *00:04* Mario game. *00:04* But E3 COVID, it turned it and I mean E3 was declining before COVID, but it kind of really *00:05* And uh the game won't be announced until September. *00:05* But your Switch games do work on it too. *00:05* Like that that that's the problem we get into here. *00:05* Like the list of IP left for something this fall is so small and I just *00:05* Like I just didn't think last year was the time. *00:05* I think that that game was designed for the 3D display specifically. *00:05* Sure. *00:05* A new Nintendo exclusive Resident Evil game will be announced to be in the works. *00:05* There's been a lot of games that have been like that lately where they're almost advertising more to devs than they are to *00:05* It wasn't last year. *00:05* Yeah, and that and they've shown concept art yeah, they you know, they showed concept art at the KeeleyCon last year, so *00:05* I would love Astrobot, but it's not like gotta go buy the headset. *00:05* Like a new game. *00:05* A little optional asymmetrical multiplayer. *00:05* Five or six weeks out. *00:05* Mario Kart A Deluxe DLC, the next pack was out today. *00:05* It's just gonna be DLC for Scarlet and Violet. *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* Essentially, if it's a new architecture, they would be emulating the switch, essentially, not natively running it, which *00:05* Alright, I didn't have some. *00:05* I uh I understand depth from a multiplayer perspective. *00:05* I was gonna say that really that would really raise some red flags for some people, I think. *00:05* Yep. *00:05* You gotta lock it in. *00:05* And I think that Sony wants more *00:05* Nope. *00:05* So there's a lot of *00:05* So I can see them releasing *00:05* Is it too much Zelda in one year? *00:05* Like that's less of a reason to say sub to stay subscribed to Game Pass, which is the thing that they want, you know? *00:05* Yeah, like it's fine, but like but now we're I think Fable was I want to say 2020 was when it was announced. *00:05* So like they've had to staff up in different ways, and that all makes sense. *00:05* So yeah, I I think Avowed and State of Decay 3 seem like the ones we could see something for this coming month. *00:05* They what that what is that studio's name? *00:05* That's like a lineup of like ten games we know about that are coming. *00:05* We were looking at the calendar before we started recording. *00:05* While they were finishing up their 50 part documentary? *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* Now this isn't, you know, PvP, this is co-op. *00:05* Not as Spider-Man, but as Venom and or uh Craven, the hunter? *00:05* Uh Last of Us remake. *00:05* There's the DSI. *00:05* It's kind of the same way like with PlayStation. *00:05* A repeat from last year, but I'll keep it. *00:05* Earlier was I think Jeff Grubb was reporting that, that they're aiming for 24 for Wolverine, which is so fast. *00:05* So it makes a lot of sense. *00:05* I can't remember. *00:05* Why are you afraid? *00:05* It worked on the uncharted stuff, obviously. *00:05* So I'm nervous to you know use it as my final prediction. *00:05* What if they what if they go over that from software and they take an idea, they go, hey. *00:05* And this has actually been rumored in the past, but I uh at all. *00:05* Wind Waker specifically Well that Wind Waker's what I was talking about a little bit more when I said like thematically, because it talks about like, oh, the hero of time. *00:05* I do released. *00:05* It's not dead. *00:05* Or maybe they have spoilers for the last was part two *00:05* These different moments that lead up and maybe tie into the future here with where Ellie is and where Abby is and Lev and and things like that. *00:05* I think it needs a decade of production, essentially. *00:05* Show me the dedication. *00:05* And, you know, the only other this is very much in vain for Naughty Dog IP to get *00:05* And Mads Mickelson as a Indiana Jones villain is kind of perfect casting. *00:05* I think that would be sick. *00:05* Stuff's coming up here in June. *00:05* I think that is true as well. *00:05* I almost ran that one back this year and I was like, no, you can't go into that. *00:05* But no, they did they did straight up announce that I think for Japan. *00:05* I don't see that coming in. *00:05* So here in May. *00:05* Whatever we're calling it. *00:05* Okay. *00:05* It's like I don't care. *00:05* So. *00:05* We're recording this a week from Tears of the Kingdom. *00:05* Cause currently I think it's like winter twenty twenty three, which I guess could be *00:05* No, but I'm saying like that'd be like a totally different series of uh animations. *00:05* No, actually, Sucker Punch would go so far as last year to say the Sly Cooper's not happening. *00:05* At Xbox, yes, because they said it was coming to Game Pass. *00:05* It's brutal. *00:05* That was huge successful. *00:05* Mm-hmm. *00:05* It's I I'm I'm not asking for gameplay like I have in the past. *00:05* Yeah, I have that. *00:05* There's Fable, Perfect Dark *00:05* Um 'cause that that's one thing to get on a larger topic, but like *00:05* But that was my heart. *00:05* com. *00:05* You're a little tired. *00:05* It's so tough without that key event that yeah, frankly, it's just E3, that one week. *00:05* Um I don't I don't remember when all I don't remember either way. *00:05* So they'll be like answing answering a lot more questions than normal. *00:05* They did it for one reason or another, and they like didn't even acknowledge Galaxy 2. *00:05* I think the last one was Revelations, right? *00:05* Yeah, every s well it yes, villages are a cloud-based game on there as well. *00:05* Like more than you can see, like it's real pretty. *00:05* Anyway. *00:05* I want to see it. *00:05* Um at its showcase next month, Xbox will stealth release its second *00:05* Okay. *00:05* A child. *00:05* Wolverine. *00:05* I will say Final Fantasy VII *00:05* I don't know. *00:05* I think the mysterious female explorer *00:05* That's all I'm saying. *00:05* All I'm saying, I I I don't know about like de-aging Mads Mickelson and Harrison Ford, particularly Harrison Ford because he's just so much older. *00:05* How fast can you deliver the pizza? *00:05* Too long. *00:05* In post-COVID, there's just been no centralized location website plan for anything. *00:05* Good job. *00:05* And I say this because Logan's first prediction, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. *00:05* Miyamoto reveals first trailer for Super Mario movie. *00:05* I just think they're saving those announcements too. *00:05* And like they did not properly explain that with that system's announcement. *00:05* Like just do a very simple like *00:05* If you had Amazon Prime, there was like a certain percentage off games. *00:05* I'm gonna lean into Zelda, the year of Zelda here. *00:05* I love it so much. *00:05* Number four, what do you got for me? *00:05* I watched the one they did for Broken Age and it was so good. *00:05* Like I don't think there's because it's what everybody is assuming already, so there's no reason to keep sitting on it. *00:05* I remember that box art. *00:05* It will be titled Ghost of Blank and will take players to a new region of Japan, which is what the game will then be. *00:05* I knew it was something. *00:05* He's writing the words over there. *00:05* I think it's a good prediction, yeah. *00:05* It was announced at the same time, but it was delayed. *00:05* It's free money. *00:05* I mean it's kind of goofy that we're on like a PlayStation 5, but I also think Sony is smart to keep doing that just because it *00:05* Except then left with like broad, very broad thematic elements and stuff. *00:05* No, the only other direct sequels would be Phantom Hourglass, Spirit of Tracks. *00:05* And then they've been Doom, and then they've got Quake Still Percolating, which they could do something with. *00:05* Like they have proven over the past decade that they can completely be trusted. *00:05* Yeah, I think uh I think they'll show off this DLC that people are very eager to do. *00:05* So I don't have a Last of Us Part 3 prediction. *00:05* Yeah, it's pretty bad. *00:05* Lay it on me. *00:05* I feel like I know everything you do. *00:05* Yeah, we're going to be able to do that. *00:05* The experience. *00:05* Nope. *00:05* Did not happen. *00:05* And usually in their first direct of the year, they kind of *00:05* It's only on the GameCube. *00:05* I don't I don't want that. *00:05* So Yeah, without means for anyone to buy it, I think putting it on there, having it tie into to home, which would drive those subscriptions. *00:05* Campaign is Campaign was terrible. *00:05* I have been so patient with them, and I have been so *00:05* Here's one for me. *00:05* At least of the past generation or so. *00:05* The 10-year anniversary is in June. *00:05* So I uh Twisted Metal will be revealed, and my hope is that it would be close to the show. *00:05* Come on. *00:05* Tapping into really the the 3D mascot platformer is *00:05* Um and I it was some of us at work are getting *00:05* Because they tried to spread everything out a little bit more. *00:05* The Last Knight re-emerges. *00:05* It came out on October 28th. *00:05* And I wrote, it's time for the 3DS ports to carry Switch to its grave. *00:05* I uh we'll see. *00:05* Give him Scarlet Sword, but then there's also the Mario collection. *00:05* So Yeah, it's good stuff. *00:05* And I understand that part, because great games will not make up the deficit between *00:05* That would be cool. *00:05* Very bold. *00:05* You know, maybe even *00:05* Cause like I mean, maybe not, but like I think of how we play like *00:05* So that's exciting to think about, but *00:05* Right. *00:06* And I have some predictions of what some of those things could be. *00:06* Especially because they had been sitting on that remaster supposedly as well for *00:06* Do it. *00:06* They got They don't have the collection. *00:06* Like if it if that game sucked, then yeah, you need to and it's like the third game in a row that was *00:06* They were trying to compete with each other so directly that it was hard to know like *00:06* We've been getting a lot of game announcements lately where trailers and teasers are shown off as ways of like *00:06* We'll we'll tell you more when we tell you more. *00:06* I think the 1400s. *00:06* Oh no, I was off. *00:06* That's all I know *00:06* That's my only concern. *00:06* Uncharted shows up in some capacity. *00:06* The date was locked in, but they had said the time. *00:06* It'd be the game, right? *00:06* Especially if especially if it's going to be similar *00:06* People just want those older games. *00:06* Much more simple. *00:06* All right. *00:06* I was like, I gotta jump on it. *00:06* The coalition is probably bleeding money. *00:06* Uh like Crash did. *00:06* We'll be doing that and you know, work on season six and *00:06* That's what I've been calling it. *00:06* And I'm just so nuts. *00:06* I know there wasn't no wait, was that the summer there was the date? *00:06* And it was November. *00:06* Yeah, and uh yes. *00:06* I don't think it'll be called Switch 2. *00:06* Yes. *00:06* That's the next console. *00:06* And Galaxy 2 is like the obvious omission. *00:06* I thought he did like ID at Xbox *00:06* Crystal Dynamics is a support team on *00:06* It's uh uh it's frankly unacceptable. *00:06* I know they just had five games shown off, but we need *00:06* Like that which is crazy. *00:06* So yes, I do think they would continue the game that way. *00:06* I don't think that I think there should be multiplayer though. *00:06* Thank you. *00:06* What what did I say? *00:06* So there's like a couple things out in the ether that that have been like rumored to come to Switch for a long time. *00:06* I think we could see Pokemon enter the upper tier of NSO. *00:06* I do too. *00:06* Just like make it something simple like that *00:06* Mario Kart's getting DLC. *00:06* And I'm like, well, what if they *00:06* You know, like Fable and stuff. *00:06* It's not because I have love of the original Perfect Dark. *00:06* That deal's dead. *00:06* I like it. *00:06* Who knows? *00:06* It'll come full circle once again. *00:06* I think that's logical. *00:06* I it's just I don't know. *00:06* And it's just gonna be the title. *00:06* I think some some people over there not making baseball games and they're I don't know about that. *00:06* I don't know. *00:06* But they're remaking something over there. *00:06* I think there could be something cool that they could do with like *00:06* It's too late. *00:06* But again, they've been doing new *00:06* Um Well no, well, they made cameos in that NBA Street game on the GameCube. *00:06* It's like this will let you do cool stuff. *00:06* So yeah, I agree with that. *00:06* Um this is my final one I did and I was like, you know *00:06* And I apologize. *00:06* So okay. *00:06* Ooh. *00:06* Let's just tell people. *00:06* Very, very long time. *00:06* Not new, but that show's coming. *00:06* Yeah, all the way back in the day. *00:06* Yes, absolutely. *00:06* Keely Khan. *00:06* I pulled that, I remember I was looking at previous Bayonetta releases, and I was like *00:06* Intelligent systems *00:06* Like they aren't doing any Mario RPGs now at all, to my knowledge. *00:06* Really, kinda everything I have left written down is *00:06* I'm *00:06* You have 25 other studios already. *00:06* What are they doing? *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* Here's all the games. *00:06* There is there is *00:06* Not at KeeleyCon. *00:06* We need gameplay *00:06* Clearly live service to the game. *00:06* Yeah, because I mean they've been holding, I think, something to keep in mind. *00:06* Well it's a PS5 exclusive too. *00:06* Um I was gonna call my shot with *00:06* Toby Maguire appears in the game as a third spider. *00:06* I'm kind of with the Switch lifecycle petering out and then *00:06* Uh I wouldn't be surprised if Far Cry makes some sort of appearance at some point here with Ubisoft. *00:06* They still keep it in that general same window. *00:06* Announced it before June ends. *00:06* Um *00:06* That was 2020, yeah. *00:06* I mean they've done it with what I think DS, they've done it with Wii U, they did it with Switch. *00:06* I just think it's going to be *00:06* Yeah, they are. *00:06* I don't know if it's gone between 2D and 3D, but *00:06* So I do think it's time *00:06* We swear it's out this year. *00:06* No, uh I do want that too, because I only have that digitally. *00:06* Joseph Staten left the studio. *00:06* I think that is like the uh I think that is like the rumor or report or whatever. *00:06* But it's starting to seem like Fable's really far away, which is disappointing. *00:06* And that's my fable-related prediction for the year. *00:06* It was announced nearly three years ago. *00:06* And those are the ones officially announced, right? *00:06* Like it's a great look. *00:06* It's just a matter of I think it needs to release this year, quite frankly. *00:06* Okay. *00:06* Like they have not *00:06* Ghost of the United States of America. *00:06* Because I don't think it's bloodborne. *00:06* Here's here's a wild idea. *00:06* And like meanwhile he's like tap dancing in a corner on social media about how he *00:06* Banjo Kazooie game announced. *00:06* God, it's so good looking. *00:06* Like I think that's right. *00:06* Never forget the DSI. *00:06* Was in an earnings kind of report meeting over in Japan. *00:06* Maybe they'll bring that back. *00:06* I know it's *00:06* I don't think they ever said anything like flat out about it, because that would be pretty *00:06* It's more just a like why would I want to engage with your ecosystem if the games aren't great? *00:06* I released that and that was like *00:06* And like Yeah, I mean Quake's never been Yeah, Quake's never been a real like *00:06* Um because they have so much now. *00:06* But I think she will be uh *00:06* All right. *00:06* And so I'm more excited to see his performance than I am to see Harrison Ford, you know. *00:06* We're in like a weird area where it's like I don't know what to be excited about right now. *00:06* Picked up your dog. *00:06* And *00:06* Jedi Survivor gameplay is revealed. *00:06* Was Redfall really 2021? *00:06* Major title gets a day and date launch on PC. *00:06* It's a good way to keep people *00:06* Too much of that. *00:06* Um I'm gonna *00:06* You're telling me the lore of *00:06* Be like, hey, show it off here. *00:06* But I wonder if not unlike Metroid Prime 4 in Retro Studios. *00:06* This game has been in development since *00:06* I do get that. *00:06* Like like the Wii U could have been properly contextualized a bit more when they announced it and revealed it. *00:06* The version that I I found two good for deals, like 30 bucks. *00:06* But that will that's gonna wrap up our what do you call it? *00:06* It's like *00:06* With a tune-in tomorrow for more. *00:06* Like when I think of Splinter Cell, I think of Xbox, which is rare for me to, you know, have that kind of strong association. *00:06* Big Sony first party money. *00:06* I don't I don't remember what the people are. *00:06* Well help me figure this out. *00:06* I'm, you know, I'm I'm feeling alright. *00:06* Okay. *00:06* Because there would have been like Redfall and Redfall was then announced the year before that. *00:06* It never. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* Do it, Nation. *00:06* They had a lot on the GameCube, but um Yeah. *00:06* You know, they did it previously. *00:06* He's like a community end guy though. *00:06* I think we're gonna finally see more of those two. *00:06* Like they're teasing other things, like they just said Horizon 3 is like in the works or whatever. *00:06* And then Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake, and then Rage. *00:06* Well, they they reneged on it. *00:06* I agree. *00:06* Those predictions. *00:06* Super bad. *00:06* I think that actually had some of the better content in that whole game, if I remember correctly. *00:06* There is Spider-Man 2 gameplay shown off. *00:06* Uh Silkson actually shows up. *00:06* Okay. *00:06* I mean Paper Mario is a series that they've done something with on *00:06* They just saw great success remastering uh Metroid Prime, another GameCube classic. *00:06* They have to make sure *00:06* So I don't know *00:06* Cool. *00:06* I do think we're *00:06* I think it's passed, or he's getting ready to pass a billion dollars at the box office. *00:06* I think of hit I think of uh I. *00:06* Um it's not the coalition. *00:06* I don't know *00:06* They've which is always a question that comes up for Obsidian, and of course they're gonna be like, yeah, we'd love to work on this great and famous IP again. *00:06* But I think they announced that that family plan they've been testing around the world. *00:06* Alright. *00:06* So they're so tied together. *00:06* There's also this whole *00:06* Like you gotta earn the name, but I'm talking more structure here. *00:06* But it looks good based on everything we've seen, so I'm hoping I mean *00:06* Part one remade. *00:06* So it could. *00:06* I don't know when I'm gonna see it, because I'll be at a wedding when it comes out. *00:06* This is a sad one, but it is true. *00:06* I think Super Switch will be announced in the fall. *00:06* But it's it's honestly it's one of the *00:06* That's what I was gonna say. *00:06* Yep, and then it shifted hands. *00:06* I think they made they made some PSN shootie game. *00:06* Like Are they Are they the ones remaking Metal Gear Solid 1? *00:06* So Okay. *00:06* I know, I know. *00:06* But without some sort of *00:07* The system's broken. *00:07* For those that may be new to this, we have five predictions each for the big three. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* Like, that's just something Nintendo has to figure out. *00:07* Like we've been sitting on these Zelda ports for a rainy day. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* Well we've got four to eight which is coming out this year. *00:07* Just do it *00:07* Kind of a Max Payne remix too. *00:07* Okay? *00:07* So a little bit, a little dense, but Gears and Unreal 5, basically. *00:07* And they've talked about that. *00:07* So a big first party Sony PSVR2 game is going to be revealed. *00:07* And it was like breaking news around the world. *00:07* I can't remember. *00:07* I don't know, you know. *00:07* KeelyCon? *00:07* None other than Logan Moore. *00:07* All right. *00:07* Now Last of Us Part One confirmed, which it was. *00:07* It's time to supposedly they're building a Donkey Kong country add-on to *00:07* So like we're entering that r sort of restart of the cycle where it's like a new Zelda. *00:07* Oh, you're bit you're being a little too proactive there for a game that doesn't exist. *00:07* But it is a different game as far as mechanics, gameplay loop, design and stuff. *00:07* It feels a little early, but for them to tease their next game, but I'm hopeful. *00:07* I don't feel like that's bold. *00:07* Now I don't think it'll take another five years of development to do it. *00:07* Yeah, I do hope so. *00:07* Sounds right. *00:07* There's a dial of destiny in that game. *00:07* Makes sense. *00:07* And you know, uh the Spider-Verse movies coming out here in June. *00:07* They could, but I'm hoping this game will be better than that, you know. *00:07* It's it is honestly the most wonderful time. *00:07* No. *00:07* I think you're really close to that. *00:07* There was never a Wii version. *00:07* I and that would definitely drive subscriptions. *00:07* Your first Xbox prediction proper, sir. *00:07* They want they just want to be the place you play. *00:07* Like I know they've revealed a lot of things over the past couple of years. *00:07* So *00:07* Sorry. *00:07* I think Xbox could be the place. *00:07* It's like, what if you explore that and maybe some of Joel's past? *00:07* It's a nice piece of tech, but like *00:07* Even if there's no real news coming out, he's still writing the words. *00:07* I don't think so. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* The Nintendo predictions. *00:07* It's time for the Donkey Kong to be released. *00:07* I hope for our sake that comes to fruition with what we're doing next year. *00:07* Honestly, they probably will announce a special edition. *00:07* It's just like for the the memes. *00:07* That it's *00:07* And so *00:07* Well so *00:07* The current rumor is PlayStation is having a showcase for the first time in years. *00:07* And I was the main reason I was thinking of this is like Ellie needs like some sort of redemptive arc because she's just *00:07* It was just like, hi, I'm Anthony Mackey. *00:07* Don't get excited anymore. *00:07* Uh yeah. *00:07* All right. *00:07* Perfect Dark Man, it's time! *00:07* Uh *00:07* And granted, Harrison Ford has there's so much reference data to like look at what that man looked like. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* I do understand that. *00:07* What? *00:07* We don't, you know, but previously we'd, you know, E3's happening *00:07* So like he's kind of like just talking about the Keeley stuff specifically, I I it is *00:07* Yeah, it's the launch this week, luck even worse. *00:07* Death Stranding 2 gets Kojima trailer. *00:07* I just had oh yeah uh origami King *00:07* The Y name was so strong too. *00:07* Big Tears of the Kingdom. *00:07* So I just I feel like this is the obvious Mario related thing this year. *00:07* I just no, I just think that's where the announcement I think would be pretty cool and to be able to say, hey, it's coming to Game Pass. *00:07* But I think I feel like there's a Game Pass focused announcement here. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* I think. *00:07* And I don't think they're gonna say much about it. *00:07* And so obviously fine. *00:07* I don't at all. *00:07* I feel like they've uh I feel like we've traveled that whole island so *00:07* But we don't know what games are gonna be there, what publishers are gonna be there. *00:07* If you go to that *00:07* But it's still a s a localized event. *00:07* That was not true. *00:07* That is this is the one I have to go with first for other reasons. *00:07* And it'll drive everybody insane because they do this. *00:07* But I know like in Prime they redid the assets and stuff. *00:07* If it's the same type of hardware, which it almost certainly will be, and it's not back compat, that's going to be a *00:07* And it came out early in the Switch's life. *00:07* That's why I bought those were the first games I bought when I got my Wii U back. *00:07* Master Chief Collection bombed at launch. *00:07* Yeah, dude, like Starfield has to be *00:07* So yeah, I think it's out this year early next, personally. *00:07* But yeah, not expecting to see it next month or this month, whenever it is. *00:07* There was one on PSP. *00:07* No, that's not a region. *00:07* Dude, there are the people are talking. *00:07* But it sounds like you you saying, you know, it's Zelda and then Pikmin kind of reminds me of the PS4 end of life *00:07* I know. *00:07* It is. *00:07* I mean sure. *00:07* I don't think I I don't think I still have it. *00:07* But this one is purely based off corporate synergy. *00:07* I like it. *00:07* As long as it's good. *00:07* 1274. *00:07* And it used to be everyone comes to a big convention center, there's a keynote, and then there's a week of developer stuff. *00:07* Like *00:07* Yeah, so we haven't seen Paper Mario in about three years. *00:07* They have shown a propensity not only with *00:07* So it's I'm hopeful. *00:07* Uh and hopefully *00:07* So that's a full development cycle. *00:07* Would you like to uh just for uh *00:07* We know you want to do Fallout 5, but we can't let you not touch that series for 10 years. *00:07* This is a really boring one. *00:07* So I like it. *00:07* My final Xbox prediction. *00:07* Will it be? *00:07* Perhaps maybe even switch whenever you want, a la GTA 5. *00:07* So I feel like they should want people to appreciate them. *00:07* Last year, E3 2022, Logan's Xbox predictions, Starfield gets a trailer. *00:07* You said it would get a September d release date before the end of June. *00:07* Wow. *00:07* Mm-hmm. *00:07* Oh god. *00:07* Sure. *00:07* Like *00:07* It is May 5th. *00:07* It could not come to pass, but *00:07* They just put the teaser out. *00:07* Um, I don't really like a lot of my predictions here. *00:07* Like *00:07* It's been out like two months, and we're already like, uh *00:07* So *00:07* It's a mess. *00:07* But I think I do not think this summer is *00:07* So there's your Wolfenstein kind of tie-in. *00:07* Um *00:07* You hail from Tsushima, so. *00:07* So I'm curious if they're too, yeah. *00:07* Yeah, they did the remaster and then they did a new game. *00:07* I think there's stuff like where you can do like races against other people. *00:07* But like I also know what I'm gonna be playing for the next *00:07* Keely Khan is the best. *00:07* And they announced that stuff months and months in advance. *00:07* At least it's more than abandoned. *00:07* That's right. *00:07* Like because I do not think they're going to have anything big to announce this summer because *00:07* I think we start now that the Game Boy is on there, the 3D SE shop is closed, the Wii UE shop is closed. *00:07* So yeah. *00:07* I think. *00:07* Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS. *00:07* It's really I do not think they're gonna wanna *00:07* It's time for arguably the greatest *00:07* I don't know. *00:07* It would be bad because it's also *00:07* And so I b when you say quake, I wonder where does *00:07* Remember when Keely was like, I've got the biggest reveal of my life. *00:07* And so to actually have *00:07* Thank you. *00:07* What's going on? *00:07* Over a decade, I think. *00:07* Yeah, I'm thinking like the theme remasters though. *00:07* It's uh Virtuose, I think, is the name. *00:07* That's about it. *00:07* Until next time, adios. *00:07* Like at some point it has to be like cool, you're you're coming up short on every single one of these launches *00:08* Like I'm I love Fable back in the day. *00:08* But like, for instance, like Fallout's probably one of their three or four biggest IP that they own now. *00:08* But Game Pass has to become more expensive. *00:08* I think they'll come out with a teaser trailer of some sort similar to what they did with part two. *00:08* So there it is. *00:08* Pilgrims wouldn't have been there, dude. *00:08* I feel like this could show up at *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* Like it's like, here's Zelda, and *00:08* If it's been in development for a while, though *00:08* In May, I think they will have their earnings, which will give like *00:08* That was like me when I snagged my semi-oke deal in. *00:08* You know, have some good news with the bad. *00:08* I wonder if they could remake or remaster those games in Unreal 5 or if that would be like too daunting. *00:08* That's the thing. *00:08* It would be easily accessible. *00:08* Revelations was on 3DS. *00:08* So I do *00:08* Ten years, part one just came out, the TV show just ended. *00:08* So. *00:08* Like somebody's just not hasn't said *00:08* There's all sorts of stuff that will be coming out. *00:08* Even more? *00:08* And so it's like just a total *00:08* Like they *00:08* I think it will be called That's why I think it should be like Super Switch or something. *00:08* I I know you were traveling. *00:08* But with the movie out literally at the end of the month of the showcase, I feel like *00:08* That's the only repeat from last year I'll I'll have. *00:08* Coalition is. *00:08* June 11th, Xbox. *00:08* And then they can write Ellie out. *00:08* Yeah, one of those PlayStation Live Service games. *00:08* Yeah, something like that. *00:08* Remastered. *00:08* I mean they did well with Demon's Souls, so they could do Blood. *00:08* Yeah, I don't know. *00:08* I think it will be switch something. *00:08* Like it's really time, Nintendo, so *00:08* Metroid had remastered this year in Dread, and and we know four's in the works. *00:08* I think that's a logical. *00:08* And a lot of people are like claiming that they've left the company on their own terms. *00:08* That is the one I think was on his own terms though. *00:08* Like there's some white. *00:08* And I I get that playground, it's in *00:08* I think *00:08* We had Horizon Call of the Mountain. *00:08* Let me ask you a couple of questions. *00:08* I just think Blue Point Games will reveal its next remake with a twenty twenty four release window. *00:08* You never know. *00:08* Like the thing that's been really frustrating this year *00:08* It was leaked by PlayStation right before September. *00:08* I still have the so the reason I even have it pre-ordered, right? *00:08* It's time for Super Mario Galaxy 2. *00:08* It's *00:08* It was so so good. *00:08* But I guess at lunch break. *00:08* I don't think there's a huge harm in just being like *00:08* But with Ragnarok, with *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* So *00:08* I was thinking about this the other day. *00:08* Hi Logan, how are you? *00:08* So that's July because I remember pre-ordering the uh *00:08* You can play rock, paper, scissors. *00:08* My third prediction. *00:08* Well, this will lead into what I was gonna say. *00:08* I feel like it's just obvious. *00:08* But you know, I could see that also being a part of it, but my main focus here is is factions. *00:08* I've I've always been of followed the rumor that Sony San Diego *00:08* I just don't know what it could be. *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* I don't think this happened. *00:08* As long as it's good, which I think it will be. *00:08* Perhaps. *00:08* And that's PC games across the board right now, but as kind of this big premiere game *00:08* I think there is a twist of mental game, but I don't know if it's close. *00:08* I think *00:08* What else does they remake? *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* We're getting Poor Team Cherry. *00:08* The Wii is gone now. *00:08* There's a world for this expansion. *00:08* I think it's just a fable is *00:08* Just like Keanu Waves. *00:08* I've never played the original Perfect Dark. *00:08* Um *00:08* Like why wouldn't they want to *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* And they're like, well, what's gonna be there? *00:08* I could book things. *00:08* I think it's finally time. *00:08* Um *00:08* And they just announced four Lego expansions, all Donkey Kong themed. *00:08* I think they're to g I didn't write this down, but kind of just to *00:08* He's like an OG man. *00:08* Like at what point do you have to start like. *00:08* O. *00:08* I don't think it's coming this year. *00:08* And that's why you're saying I think it's out soon. *00:08* So you could move around on the show floor a little bit more easily, but it was like, oh *00:08* That was only I thought that was a one-year lead. *00:08* I don't remember. *00:08* Everything else is playable on the Switch in some fashion. *00:08* Like though multiplayer suite. *00:08* No, it's good. *00:08* Total two wildly different games, but still two humongous titles. *00:08* Twisted Metal comes out this year, I think. *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* I don't I actively do not think it's bloodborne. *00:08* And Xbox has told us what's coming up, but we need firm dates and for them to actually deliver. *00:08* But *00:08* Nope. *00:08* Uh *00:08* Yeah, I remember that. *00:08* They've they've had a long standing relationship with Nintendo, dates back all the way to the the Game Boy color. *00:08* It's like, well, it's clear that like Xbox *00:08* Um *00:08* Coalition's gears *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* Oh yeah, that's right. *00:08* So *00:08* First Mongol invasion of Japan. *00:08* He's been buying a lot of old video games lately. *00:08* So it's like, ugh. *00:08* I actually think Xbox is the most forward out of every *00:08* Like it's just like the way that like *00:08* That did not happen. *00:08* Fable trailer with gameplay premieres. *00:08* PC's a mess. *00:08* You know what I'm saying? *00:08* That'd keep people excited for sure. *00:08* Oh that, yeah. *00:08* What are they doing? *00:08* Interactive's James Bond game. *00:08* Show it off for us. *00:08* Yes, yes, yes. *00:08* Just have us run around a city. *00:08* Like at least we knew E3 down the stretch. *00:09* The eleven There was a date, yeah. *00:09* I mean you could *00:09* I was. *00:09* I think it's the id tech. *00:09* I don't really have anything else to say beyond the fact that I think we will see the DLC for Elden Ring. *00:09* So we're gonna do another time jump, taking care of an adolescent JJ. *00:09* Yes, it had way fewer issues. *00:09* Yeah. *00:09* So I think we do see that. *00:09* Alright. *00:09* So I do appreciate that for at least consistency's sake. *00:09* It wouldn't surprise me if they were *00:09* I I could see it. *00:09* Uh *00:09* And it showed these different scenes from different games. *00:09* But it's probably *00:09* Fascinating. *00:09* I I believe it, and I definitely think it's the week of Starfield, just to really *00:09* We'll see. *00:09* Dude, the problem. *00:09* Seasonal podcast we bounce back and forth. *00:09* Okay. *00:09* Yeah, these are just the ones officially announced. *00:09* Like *00:09* Like *00:09* And I think with the the parts shortage and and price of *00:09* I figured you'd have like a faction's prediction though. *00:09* I think it's just gonna be confirmation that it's happening. *00:09* Um *00:09* But we'll launch here into 2023, the year of our Lord. *00:09* Okay. *00:09* I think there's like a Mario baseball game. *00:09* There's never been virtual console for GameCube. *00:09* I think I wanna say the other one. *00:09* You're tying them together. *00:09* That's what they did with Gears 1 last gen, wasn't it? *00:09* Was it twist? *00:09* I I'm kind of okay with it. *00:09* I was like, I can't. *00:09* He's basically essentially saying, like *00:09* Uh *00:09* It's time, man. *00:09* I mean, wol Wolverine will be different because it's gonna completely *00:09* Now, like The Last of Us tried to do that with the PC port and the TV show. *00:09* So I think we see it. *00:09* Oh my gosh, no. *00:09* I don't need all this news necessarily. *00:09* You know what I'm saying? *00:09* Matt Booty. *00:09* They've brought it Oh I'm sorry. *00:09* So I'm I'm not really going to count that. *00:09* They should add a multiplayer element to this game where like *00:09* I think I was just like a day *00:09* I know more DLC was announced and has come out since. *00:09* I think it will be forward compatible with switch. *00:09* Go, go, go. *00:09* So *00:09* I think they had like a *00:09* Yeah. *00:09* So like they'll talk about it, but they'll be like, oh *00:09* Again, like I went to We just announced they just announced Xbox's showcase *00:09* Nope, that was like late. *00:09* Like I w I want that *00:09* Uh or the Wii U. *00:09* So I just locked in Metroid Prime four with that discount. *00:09* Uh my phantom hourglass came in. *00:09* They want you to be they want to be the service you play on. *00:09* I'm not asking for release date or anything. *00:09* Those are their big properties. *00:09* It would be really cool. *00:09* Like once these things get announced, I think we're due to *00:09* With this, it's like I don't know how long I would need to stay in town. *00:09* Yeah, it's Starfall and uh Starfield and Redfall were both supposed to launch last year, I believe. *00:09* Not until the game awards, so no. *00:09* So I feel like the Detective Pikachu game has been talked about *00:09* Like *00:09* Yeah. *00:09* I don't *00:09* Saddle up, buddy. *00:09* Do you think that is Cassie Drake then? *00:09* I wonder if they have the capacity f as a two-team studio. *00:09* It's like, I don't know. *00:09* Gotta be honest though. *00:09* Five they did was solid in some areas. *00:09* And it's like, dude. *00:09* And it'll be a good way to end this. *00:09* So maybe they could do Gotham Knights and just let him fly on *00:09* Yes. *00:10* I don't like just the logistics around all of this. *00:10* They're gonna release Zelda *00:10* But I mean *00:10* So I just make it look really, really nice, run really, really well *00:10* We'll uh we'll see. *00:10* And it's it's too early for that. *00:10* Um *00:10* But yeah, you gotta release *00:10* So they're gonna need to start showing that thing off. *00:10* Oh, they're gonna pull an Assassin's Creed through *00:10* Yeah. *00:10* It used to be at least the most wonderful time of the year. *00:10* So in that regard, like me trying to figure out who's gonna be there and what's gonna be shown isn't *00:10* So I think *00:10* So like that pre-order is *00:10* No, Sony's just holding this stuff far longer. *00:10* If they're not *00:10* I don't like any of my predictions for this. *00:10* All right. *00:10* Yeah. *00:10* June 12th, Ubisoft. *00:10* Like you're gonna drop everything you're doing and try to go apply and go work there. *00:10* The story stu storyline stuff was actually pretty good, I thought. *00:10* Hopefully it's not the last of us. *00:10* I think more than anything. *00:10* Yep. *00:10* It's focused, you know when the week is, they announce it a couple of months in advance and *00:10* I'm so glad I'm not in that ecosystem. *00:10* Complete a box? *00:10* Um it just makes the whole *00:10* Here's the first trailer for Indiana Jones and the whip of *00:10* I think *00:10* Yeah. *00:10* Like *00:10* What was the PS3 one? *00:10* Supposedly there's gonna be a new Spyro this year. *00:10* Is that next week? *00:10* And I'm like, dude, I just *00:10* And they've they've done a lot of expansions. *00:10* I do I do wanna echo *00:10* I mean Bloodborne would make sense, but I just *00:10* At least there was like gameplay footage of it. *00:10* So it's almost kind of time for one and uh *00:10* So *00:10* Wolfenstein? *00:10* But it seems like my kind of game *00:10* That would be really cool. *00:10* Finally. *00:10* I will also say just narratively *00:10* I'm gonna *00:10* And then you said Avatar would be shown off on PlayStation stage. *00:10* Now we get a new Mario. *00:10* I keep saying it. *00:10* So they got everything on there. *00:10* So I think there's going to be some *00:10* He's been around forever. *00:10* But like *00:10* It's interesting. *00:10* Is that a Chinese developer? *00:10* Like the 3DS ports are gonna be the pallbearers. *00:10* Okay *00:10* Cause then you'll get people who are like, oh, I bought you the switch and I bought you this *00:10* Like *00:10* I'm gonna *00:10* Come on. *00:10* Yeah. *00:10* I I think PC support is vital for *00:10* I agree. *00:10* So like the the 13th century. *00:10* There's a demo. *00:10* So I think it's possible. *00:10* Wildly successful. *00:10* Because m they did Machine Games did or does Wolfenstein, right? *00:10* Uh *00:10* They *00:10* Outer Worlds 2 and *00:10* I'm just *00:10* It's time. *00:10* That would be the easiest part. *00:10* Activision will have Call of Duty at some point this summer. *00:10* Because that will uh *00:10* I could still *00:10* I would think the only ties would be *00:10* Like Doom and Doom Eternal are like two of the best shooters I think ever made. *00:10* Absolutely. *00:10* It's pretty good. *00:10* But I do think *00:10* Yeah. *00:11* Here's my next one. *00:11* Not that they talk about it often, but you know, they really *00:11* Our Nintendo predictions there. *00:11* Like it could just be a trailer, like a concept of like *00:11* A lot of it that never made the *00:11* Please stop. *00:11* There's nothing. *00:11* That was in the fall. *00:11* They keep talking about that too. *00:11* So I mean I would like uh *00:11* This does not involve banjo. *00:11* I d I could see them revealing it though. *00:11* Obviously, they have more than that. *00:11* Okay, but *00:11* Poor Team Cherry. *00:11* I'm more concerned about the backward compatibility. *00:11* I forget that other guy's name. *00:11* I've never been a Quake guy, but *00:11* Um *00:11* Because Mario is gonna be on the Super Switch too, so it's just *00:11* Mm-hmm. *00:11* Because we're off. *00:11* It's this summer, I thought. *00:11* Nope. *00:11* Like *00:11* It's gone. *00:11* So it's like *00:11* They're not gonna spring it on people like *00:11* Um *00:11* That's kind of like *00:11* The mystery will be solved. *00:11* So, Logan, what is your first prediction? *00:11* Okay. *00:11* It's dark time for that franchise man. *00:11* Yes. *00:11* I feel like Resident Evil 9's like 2025. *00:11* Like, you know. *00:11* I think that's finally coming to the US. *00:11* So and it is Ellie *00:11* Like sure *00:11* Now we get a new *00:11* Show it off. *00:11* Looking at like digital foundry videos. *00:11* More foxes? *00:11* Nothing. *00:11* Yeah, I was gonna say the Wii U is the big one where like *00:11* Now that those shops are shut down too, you can't buy those. *00:11* I don't think they're gonna ship it to the wrong place. *00:11* I'm not saying a tie-in game to the movie, but *00:11* Fable, everything you read about it, it's like *00:11* So *00:11* Um *00:11* Except for code Veronica. *00:11* Please. *00:11* You know, there's definitely another one of those in the works. *00:11* I mean other than like *00:11* No. *00:11* I want to see what they're doing. *00:11* No *00:11* Uh next it's the 19th. *00:11* It's inaccessible *00:12* And you know, maybe they have. *00:12* But I think it was *00:12* Like I don't know if this is *00:12* Mario Kart, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade. *00:12* Like, there's a lot I could predict. *00:12* They did. *00:12* Basically, yeah. *00:12* Yes. *00:12* That would be great. *00:12* I went to some of the final E3s and they were *00:12* I mean they've done it to themselves, I suppose. *00:12* That is locked in. *00:12* What? *00:12* He's a bungee OG *00:12* Like I think that could be *00:12* Do you do this to protect yourself? *00:12* You go to the Jeff's *00:12* What's fable? *00:12* Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. *00:12* I'll look it up. *00:12* You know, there was *00:12* That's all I got. *00:12* I just think *00:12* It's not the coalition. *00:12* So *00:12* Uh *00:12* So it it's been sitting there since *00:12* So I would actually prefer them to *00:12* Let's *00:12* I'd believe I would want that. *00:12* So I still remember buying that. *00:12* Who knows what Fable is? *00:12* Didn't happen *00:12* So *00:12* I think that would make sense. *00:12* It's all scattershot. *00:13* So *00:13* I don't *00:13* Like *00:13* Seems right to me. *00:13* I I don't know. *00:13* It's *00:13* That's the only one. *00:13* I think that'd be really cool. *00:13* Okay. *00:13* So *00:13* Like *00:13* Um *00:13* Your feelings? *00:13* Yeah. *00:14*
