My hope is that by offering this transcription – however accurate it may be done by a machine learning/AI – will help you, the listener. I’d love to offer full, proper transcription some day, but that is not feasible at this time. Thank you for listening and reading. I hope you enjoy the show and that this document was helpful. Enjoy. --- I think this is gonna be a really fun one. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* And I wanted to pick up Apollo Justice and then I watched your video and I was like, well, I guess I have to buy the Japanese one now. *00:00* Key three. *00:00* This is this is up there. *00:00* Yes, they they do. *00:00* I mean clearly after Paper Jam it was, well let's remake Superstar Saga, which I think made sense at the time because it was a Game Boy Advance game. *00:00* Um, you know, I I think Sakaguchi really proved himself when he left Squaresoft. *00:00* That's just not where I play video games. *00:00* It was incredible. *00:00* But like I I played the demo and I'm like, you know, like oh maybe I'm kind of feeling this a little bit. *00:00* And well, even if a game is a little bad, playing with your friend can be fun, right? *00:00* But I I will say that the other Game Boy ones, uh, they're I think they're close enough. *00:00* You know, Octopath Traveler 1 only got a Nintendo physical copy, Live Alive only got a Nintendo physical copy, uh Triangle Strategy only got a Nintendo physical copy, and I don't think that even came to any other console. *00:00* uh and you like choose from a list of classes and you you make you make your party, you know, you so they're they're they're they're generic characters, you know. *00:00* They just feel so cheaply made. *00:00* Mm-hmm. *00:00* Yeah, with those like emulation collections or like an indie game that, you know, runs at a solid 60 on on Switch, it's like, you know, I'll I'll take the controller options on *00:00* I think it'd be really cool. *00:00* Now I need the physical version of this game. *00:00* It just yeah, I don't know. *00:00* Metal slug physical. *00:00* I can't. *00:00* I really wish I don't think it's a thing, but I really wish they would figure out a way to make it work with Fusion and Metroid Prime Remastered where you could get the fusion link. *00:00* Do you have me in the back? *00:00* Now wait a second, how old are you? *00:00* I nearly gave up and threw the controller away at the final boss. *00:00* on the Game Boy color. *00:00* Like you like level up to like level nine 999 or something like that. *00:00* Like, I've just never the Capcom style of fighting game has just never clicked with me. *00:00* You know, if they get the emulation right, if they get the input lag right, uh I think it's very important. *00:00* Um. *00:00* But like I got like this like long blue like wizard robe and just like a blue winter hat, but I just like I I pulled it up really high to be a little pointier and I got like uh *00:00* Yeah, so I I I feel like, you know, they're they're they're starting to m make it up. *00:00* And w and we teamed up against Donkey Khan, but he still prevailed. *00:00* Uh, aside from the addition of the ultra hand, of course, um apparently the engine is radically different. *00:00* And, you know, it's what's so impressive about it is that, you know, your typical AAA developer who's making, you know, big open world games on *00:00* She's like underwater and kind of that like uh side uh side view, like Link's Awakening perspective. *00:00* I I I love it and I like I said, like dropping a a Zelda game that no one saw coming two-thirds of the way into the presentation, well before it's over. *00:00* Um next up they showed off the probably the surprise from the PlayStation state of play, which was Lego Horizon. *00:00* I bet they could be quite fun. *00:00* I I haven't really compared them directly or anything, so I I'm sure they touched up the models to some extent, but they aren't, you know, the uh I I think also just with the power of the switch you can get higher quality *00:00* Exactly. *00:00* Uh in my opinion, I don't think it looks cheap. *00:00* Um, and so that to me this strikes me as is a very appealing way for me to play through this game for the first time, even though it's obviously gonna be quite different from *00:00* like you mentioned previously, an HD2D of those games. *00:00* I'm like, of course. *00:00* I thought how are there people that don't have it? *00:00* This was an absolute blast. *00:00* Second time I did, but I just like seen like, oh, age 17, oh, age you know, twenty-four, whenever it is. *00:00* You guys can have a blast. *00:00* And I was in the depths and it was like ch there was a big combat thing. *00:00* uh the PS5 version of uh Crisis Core Reunion. *00:00* like all my analog video systems hooked up and so I moved the eight the 16 input switcher uh there's you know every input on that is utilized and then I have that run into like a four-way *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Perfect Dark back in the day, you know? *00:00* On Luigi. *00:00* Alpha Dream used for those games. *00:00* you know, the talkie talks, you know, just so they could say something funny. *00:00* I had the Apple Arcade subscription. *00:00* And the last story, uh, both of which I love. *00:00* I could save up and buy my own games. *00:00* The Pins or Dragoon remake. *00:00* I haven't tried it yet. *00:00* So they must have ported it somewhere. *00:00* Yeah, so but with a concrete date, DKC isn't interesting. *00:00* HD2D style that Square Enix has developed for games like Octopath the Traveler 1 and 2, Triangle Strategy. *00:00* If it's NAO 4K, but it's it's approaching it regardless in 60 frames per second, you know, very sharp, very smooth. *00:00* Pennsylvania anniversary collection. *00:00* Like they're little Paul people. *00:00* Just got a really cheap feel to them. *00:00* Live Alive. *00:00* skepticism about the second to last one. *00:00* uh uh how am I drawing a blank on the name? *00:00* I'll get this. *00:00* And you have to get down to the third world and hopefully meet a character. *00:00* Emray a game. *00:00* Phantom Brave 2. *00:00* like Soul Calibur. *00:00* That's a brawler and it is a co-op brawler. *00:00* I see him in a shop. *00:00* Unfortunately. *00:00* You had asked. *00:00* Halloween. *00:00* uh fake glasses with like a big nose on it like you know like like that and like I just I like kinda held the bottom of the nose like in my upper lip to make it more like a *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* So I mean that that's Nintendo's MO these days. *00:00* As her and Smash Brothers and things like that, but a a mainline Zelda. *00:00* Yes. *00:00* That's gonna start flaking off a bit. *00:00* 2D Zelda. *00:00* I keep getting over. *00:00* Yeah, because well like linked between worlds, like after um after Skyward Sword, like like I think E. *00:00* from Traveler's Tales are pretty, you know, mundane from uh a gameplay perspective. *00:00* uh flexible climbing that you can do. *00:00* You know, I I can't I can't not like something where the NPCs are l literally like CRTs headed robots. *00:00* Yes, yes. *00:00* uh Ace Ring 56 and the two great Ace Soring is I think they translate so well to HD. *00:00* Yeah, I'm thrilled. *00:00* It's it's it like I think it I I think it uses the original sprites and like higher res backgrounds, but like it it kinda animates them and stuff like that. *00:00* It's yeah you can clearly tell this is a game made on budget. *00:00* uh nine-ish years. *00:00* But Metro Prime 4 looks good 2025. *00:00* And I I think after going through it again, it this is a Hall of Famer in the in the context of Directs. *00:00* was a 2001 release, same year GameCube release. *00:00* Like it just had a year too long. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Can't wait for the next 3D Kirby. *00:00* I I record. *00:00* Substantiated by reliable sources or not, the rumors say that the software just wasn't ready. *00:00* You know, possibly some of these other games. *00:00* Oh my god. *00:00* Pretty fun actually. *00:00* September or August of last year, I think. *00:00* Hello everybody and welcome to the Max Frequency Podcast. *00:00* Can I just tell you it's amazing? *00:00* the digital input uh because like you know we hadn't really been able to do anything like that before uh you know there was a HDMI input on the Frame Meister but it wasn't that *00:00* Paths. *00:00* you know, not legitimate, which I figured would happen. *00:00* bringing it back to the cartridge. *00:00* my birthday and we were playing a GameCube and it just oh my gosh it looks so good. *00:00* K 60, but I'm also turning the VRR flag on and then letting my TV smooth out some of the frame hiccups. *00:00* And uh the way I'm looking at it, the frame drops are noticeably not as uh aggravating. *00:00* Oh my goodness gracious. *00:00* do I I tried I tried to do the good thing and now I'm stuck with both but anyway the four five six one two three four five six are your fault *00:00* in in my world, right? *00:00* You know, an HDMI cable was an HDMI cable, but now it's like if you don't get the right kind, like it's gonna be big problems. *00:00* to feed into the tank. *00:00* Um GBA consolizers. *00:00* Uh, you know, it'll sit in an unfinished state for weeks because then like, you know, it's like, well, actually I gotta get to work on this thing, uh, you know, and then *00:00* You know, it's oh gosh. *00:00* uh time when they like unveiled like Twilight Princess and just like the the energy and the room. *00:00* a console but I do um it it it totally new perspective I'm like okay I I will 100% give Mario and Luigi serious *00:00* series another try. *00:00* the enemy designs and character designs and um just that that art style really comes to life quite *00:00* Yeah, I'm into it. *00:00* Not for me. *00:00* A uh as a property I know absolutely nothing about. *00:00* harder. *00:00* around him and I think the fact that he was able to strike it out on his own and make uh games especially like Lost Odyssey and *00:00* if that would happen. *00:00* think it's funny. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* My uh interest is piqued. *00:00* season of Metroidvania style games. *00:00* consoles as well. *00:00* kid so it just the art style like reminded me of it but I haven't looked any further to see if there's any relation between I mean it's it's probably totally fine. *00:00* Let me see. *00:00* Rune Factory, it seems. *00:00* all time. *00:00* Um, I just extremely attached to those. *00:00* uh studio. *00:00* When Retro Studios is like saying these things, I'm like, yes, yes, they get it, they get it! *00:00* But just like the level design and the mechanics do not feel the same at all. *00:00* It was on sale for fairly cheap. *00:00* like I'm going to land. *00:00* mechanics they like were referencing the original games uh on a HD TV stretched stretched and it's like ah that's why you like *00:00* you know, the the greatest platformer ever made and uh I yeah I I wish I wish I was with them because like I say it's a it's a aesthetically perfect *00:00* Um, but then Tropical Freeze comes out, and I'm like uh for me I was in perfect sync with that game as far as movement, vibe, music, the whole deal. *00:00* capacity eventually. *00:00* doing Prime 4, but um or something else like Donkey Kong related. *00:00* So seeing this pop up, I was like, uh, at least it's here, I guess. *00:00* uh a version of House of the Dead remake on a you know more powerful system, but uh it it ain't good on the switch. *00:00* uh here at the end, it is the furthest dated Switch game we have from Nintendo of January 16, 2025. *00:00* Interesting. *00:00* So well, I think there were at least from Nintendo. *00:00* not the biggest fan of with what I'm going to assume was a game announ reveal type deal that you were excited for. *00:00* Uh this was Dragon Quest III HD2D, which is a mouthful, but it is that beautiful *00:00* could run. *00:00* I played the a little bit of the demo. *00:00* I call it three because that's what it is on the Super Nintendo back there. *00:00* So I'm like this is the time to jump in with this art style and everything. *00:00* would say um yeah i i think this would probably be a great one to get started with it um so this was the first dragon quest to introduce uh class *00:00* It's one of the best. *00:00* Which is not that great at realizing what the that art style is trying to do because I feel like the pixel art kind of gets a little bit lost in the smudge. *00:00* using the PSP code. *00:00* in this order and I'm glad because you know I like you you you mentioned that we did the uh the compilations video and I *00:00* uh some old Dragon Quest stuff. *00:00* myself. *00:00* switch but when it comes to a game like dragon quest two uh three one and two hd two d uh you know I I will in that situation opt for the the *00:00* of the second to last game in this direct maybe. *00:00* fan of what they did with that game, which we'll we'll talk about when we get to it. *00:00* My favorite. *00:00* I don't know. *00:00* Uh I'm quite hopeful that f uh four is made someday for Super Switch. *00:00* Mm-hmm. *00:00* Uh what what's it called? *00:00* Uh I I think that's a that's a a perfect way to to revive revive Metal Slug. *00:00* single player thing that's just like a tower defense game. *00:00* Mm probably something is not likely to get like a physical copy. *00:00* This is not feeling great. *00:00* systems but it felt wrong it felt wrong I get it. *00:00* rough as well on Switch. *00:00* addictive thing for me. *00:00* Zero mission, like finally. *00:00* Easier than digging out the game too. *00:00* connection stuff. *00:00* uh had has a switch and she loves Animal Crossing. *00:00* for stuff whenever. *00:00* million ways limited run just put Turok out like you can play all this stuff any other way so but it was very funny *00:00* to see mature 17 plus N64. *00:00* the counter. *00:00* I went on a God of War frenzy. *00:00* was season three, but we ended the season by playing Conquer just for fun. *00:00* Gosh, what a what a final boss. *00:00* until a f just a couple of years ago. *00:00* On the original Game Boy. *00:00* uh there where they just call for so nonetheless like they share like uh the demon designs and *00:00* Classics. *00:00* clicked with it a lot more than I thought I would. *00:00* uh uh you know raiden does something that like uh causes time to reset back to the time of mortal combat one and i'm my understanding is i'm i'm expecting like it *00:00* that's considered really bad and then the Saturn version's like almost arcade perfect. *00:00* it would be stuck in this forever. *00:00* from Play Asia. *00:00* forever so and then uh it's the end of switch life it's time we need another mario party game mar super mario party jamboree *00:00* was Mario Party Superstars. *00:00* or something, but like uh people were always saying that there was this Miyamoto mandate that like you can't create like new characters or have have like toads that don't just look like *00:00* Your door has. *00:00* in in the in the cast of that game and and uh paper mario before it like like having this like you know goomba or koopa troopa that's like going around with you like i like that kind of stuff stopped happening in in paper mario *00:00* from the first game, but they the Western land for Mario Party too. *00:00* come to think of it. *00:00* really cool. *00:00* configuration or maybe certain mini games might require you to hold it vertically for you know some sort of gyro controls or something so I'm I'm a little bit skeptical of this one because I feel like it's *00:00* like a Koopa Tropa beak. *00:00* gosh, Kimic's Kimic's getting his due. *00:00* uh Mario Kart or Mario Kart 64 and putting Donkey Kong in his place because in the early magazine screenshots *00:00* scale it all nice and crisp and beautiful. *00:00* Awesome. *00:00* at Metroid Prime. *00:00* of the show. *00:00* Media, so I don't know what the pulse was kind of going into it, but I had a feeling that the Oracle games were gonna get a remake in that Link's Awakening art style. *00:00* or g gamel what whatever it is on the CDI gamel on on the CDI and if you want to count spinoffs Hyrule Warriors you can also play *00:00* Six years or however long it's been, we've been able to iron it out, maybe. *00:00* I I do need it. *00:00* though so it'll look weird and also it'll it'll probably flake off just like the Majora's Mask one did. *00:00* memory bandwidth issue because what happens is the game targets 60 frames per second and during general play maintains it except every time you go between locations *00:00* tweak it. *00:00* uh you know background there. *00:00* you know, loud online person, but I was just like, this just seems like overly complicated. *00:00* reinvent 3D Zelda. *00:00* I'm so happy she has her own style of combat mechanics. *00:00* you know, very ambitious in its approach, and I thought like, oh, in three years every game is gonna be just like Breath of the Wild. *00:00* mythology game. *00:00* hasn't really become that much of a broader gaming thing because it's just it's so ambitious and they did that on such weak hardware. *00:00* comparatively. *00:00* uh perspective and gameplay and I j I just think that's incredible. *00:00* another fish or something. *00:00* Uh man, like I I I I was I was I was blown away. *00:00* I just hope the frame rate's not too bad. *00:00* boss. *00:00* XYZ item to get into XYZ dungeon and complete XYZ dungeon, there were still like expected solutions to problems. *00:00* Uh but there's still I I I agree and yet there was so much of Else of this It was I mean it was a banger. *00:00* when they have flexibility in the classroom is they just pull up YouTube videos of Just Dance. *00:00* like it. *00:00* Or Horizon Mega, whatever it is. *00:00* In some ways this kind of is almost an indictment of the current state of Sony *00:00* is like gonna change your life. *00:00* Like like Ape Escape ain't nothing anymore. *00:00* Or I mean it's not like I mean I think it's T for Teen, but it's like it's not for kids, like kid kids, but also it's robot dinosaur. *00:00* is that it's not developed by Traveler's Tales. *00:00* that. *00:00* Yeah, there's not much depth to the combat and then searching for stuff is, you know, uh you know, can be kind of fun, but there's not much to it. *00:00* stuff the the ground the the trees the environment the houses everything is is lego based so it does give me this sense that they are doing something different with it and even though the Lego games um *00:00* a bit older. *00:00* I'll take it. *00:00* And it is one that I have on the shelf behind me that I would like to play. *00:00* real rough. *00:00* uh throughout the game up to this point. *00:00* And it's all finally coming here to the West physically. *00:00* as chibi. *00:00* larger now that I think about it. *00:00* pixel art looked better. *00:00* Is Miles Edgeworth. *00:00* that they showed here, but I do think I preferred it when they showed what it looked like as sprites. *00:00* Side by side. *00:00* those backgrounds. *00:00* need Ace Attorney 7, you know? *00:00* is is a is a a megaton. *00:00* Oh, did it was like did did was that them that did it? *00:00* Steam. *00:00* I I am very curious who is behind this because the reason I this excites me is because I thought it looked very similar to the *00:00* Yeah, especially, you know, going by Trials of Mana, I thought it was a very clean style that was a great way to convey the look of a Super Famicom game in 3D. *00:00* It feels a little homey to me. *00:00* on Switch. *00:00* I I I I like this. *00:00* Second out of an Unreal game. *00:00* whole object. *00:00* that way. *00:00* holds up so good. *00:00* In just optimizing for the hardware. *00:00* those videos. *00:00* Stuff doesn't seem to uh will manifest in any way in the future. *00:00* Um, and if you don't count that, corruption. *00:00* Yeah, I think that's a good one. *00:00* Where? *00:00* A premise no one wanted. *00:00* guys like forget the egg you don't need to burke gear rabbit just get out of there well you can still get the egg and if you manage to bring it out and I did not know this at the time but I did it anyway because I needed some *00:00* sort of challenge in the game. *00:00* seven so yeah by the way I've not I've not played Federation Force because I was conflating hunters and Federation Force in my head as the same *00:00* Um, but it is a game that it reminds me a lot of like Dinosaur Planet, aka Star Fox Adventures. *00:00* itself. *00:00* s upcoming sequel that everyone cares about. *00:00* Really. *00:00* banger and even I mean there are there were some lulls like Disney to farm a farmagia funko vision for people *00:00* successor here. *00:00* No, the the the Wii U certainly didn't, the Wii didn't, the the the GameCube didn't, the N64 certainly didn't. *00:00* Superstar, Dion Kong Country 3, Super Mario RPG. *00:00* 3D Mario may not be a launch title, but they're gonna reboot. *00:00* Kirby is the only thing missing here. *00:00* Oh my gosh. *00:00* Kagucci here. *00:00* Dragon Quest III that were that was kinda like, man, it's been a long time since we've got an update on this. *00:00* I mean that this is I mean it's not that far from that level of like, oh my gosh, here are three games at the Sony conference that seemed like they would never happen that everyone wanted. *00:00* This is the tail end of the Switch's life. *00:00* And they leave the hospital and they're like, and here's your copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. *00:00* year. *00:00* dot net and my other show Chapter Select, which seasonal retrospective podcast where we bounce back and forth between a series exploring its evolution, design, and legacy. *00:00* ready to launch and then following up with Castlevania after that. *00:00* And that was before we watched it. *00:00* I have a RetroTank 4K now. *00:00* remember. *00:00* useful um but here like i i was so that's why in our video on the retro tank 4k uh corey handled kind of a a small analog video *00:00* look and like kind of meeting like halfway in between as a compromise on either of those like doesn't work amazingly um and so this gives you that option with these earlier systems *00:00* if you do want to go for that really clean, really sharp look. *00:00* 1995 and including some that were released in 1995. *00:00* just things that I've been chomping at the bit to do for years that I could finally do with digital sources on this thing and it was uh I was just so excited about and it wasn't until I actually see uh you've *00:00* an instrumental tool, especially if you like backing up all your stuff. *00:00* Love save file preservation. *00:00* First click. *00:00* Yeah, yeah, there's no change in the game. *00:00* It smooths it a little bit. *00:00* I do it. *00:00* Uh I mean one of the games that we're going to be talking about from this Nintendo Direct, I am particularly concerned about the frame rate on. *00:00* unique idea but I have to this is your fault and for the listeners I am showing I'm showing try that I *00:00* I've got the Oh and you got the Japanese, the one the one the one. *00:00* an HDMI cable because he's like, don't you have enough of those? *00:00* I mean those are mostly only needed for, you know, academic purposes, you know, for, you know, work, right? *00:00* one of those systems but I don't need them in the living room so you know I'm I recently moved those up to my my retro room where you know I've got *00:00* of different capture devices. *00:00* So yeah, I mean you know the stuff they had here. *00:00* It's a weird but cool look. *00:00* So weird because like like Mario RPG was like a life-changing game for me. *00:00* Stop playing Mario RPGs, but I I got real tired of these games. *00:00* All the way. *00:00* and it was you know a way to kind of weaning down on the 3DS. *00:00* Leave. *00:00* I don't know if that's just like maybe one island has like the electric electric gang and like uh you know different types of enemies or later. *00:00* Same type of thing. *00:00* of the game. *00:00* is a you know a hand me down Apple TV. *00:00* It's just my thing. *00:00* wants to make like Final Fantasy 17 like let Sakaguchi make one more Final Fantasy like gosh that would be so good. *00:00* stage here. *00:00* Uh Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports, which is the most PS2 cell shaded thing I've seen in a hot minute. *00:00* game? *00:00* games like it superficially looks like them uh you know recycles a lot of music from them um *00:00* switch that game. *00:00* um the the quality of the level design. *00:00* It feels like you roll jump like twice as far. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* complicated of things as what they did for Tropical Freeze, but also it's apparently being handled by um the developers that did um *00:00* and the developer. *00:00* The name and they did Yes, I see House of the Dead, I believe. *00:00* Yes, live alive. *00:00* PS5 physical copy no less. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* although I think it's on Steam. *00:00* Right? *00:00* Well, then Octopath Traveler 2 comes along. *00:00* well and I I you know like I said I I prioritize physical media over better graphics *00:00* and smoother gameplay, but I sure do like better graphics and smoother gameplay. *00:00* right so I think uh you know any time that I could get physical version of HD2D on PS5 like I'm I am definitely *00:00* All three of them. *00:00* But I want this thing next to this thing on my shelf. *00:00* in the world. *00:00* It's just stunning. *00:00* Sorry. *00:00* I can play that with one of these switch online controllers I love, and I can use the retro tank to make it 4K anyway. *00:00* I just played Castlevania One with it, uh but before I got my tink, so I wasn't able to do the whole uh prescale, right? *00:00* guys doing. *00:00* And like that, you know, the people who buy them only exist in our world within GameStop, you know? *00:00* Uh then what I think's probably the goofiest game from the direct and it it was in all caps, but New Dunpa Man, which looks like *00:00* something not navigate enemy bases. *00:00* games. *00:00* kind of thing, which is like not normally a go-to genre, but it's something I've become becoming more and more open to, especially after having played um uh uh *00:00* eighties once and then was like, well what's the point of keep going here? *00:00* I've s when I it seems like I could have patched it, but my understanding, like what I was like, oh *00:00* Free download. *00:00* that long. *00:00* Um I didn't see the game out on the shelf. *00:00* folk. *00:00* Which will hopefully come out by the end of next week, maybe. *00:00* crazy. *00:00* familiar. *00:00* least two more resets with uh with uh the upcoming games. *00:00* saying um Spider Man kind of ethos and Daredevil and stuff. *00:00* like really bad animation on PS1 or like almost no animation or I I I forget but uh like one of these games has the juggernaut in it and he takes up like motion *00:00* of the screen. *00:00* Just not me. *00:00* particular version of these games though is uh the switch box art which I will try to find really good art for the show notes like higher res than what I found here *00:00* Oh, that's that's lousy. *00:00* do with that. *00:00* in high school. *00:00* Mario. *00:00* think about it. *00:00* which is what I'm all about. *00:00* like that because like I I actually think the Wii is highly underrated. *00:00* kind of a a quasi-compilation of sorts. *00:00* in the trailer for the super the reveal trailer for the Super Mario Bros. *00:00* out here and we booted up NSO and played Mario Party 2. *00:00* day when uh when me and one of my friends played it we always made the ai characters like one time Mario and Donkey Kong like absolutely crack *00:00* And no matter how good or bad they did, we immediately went and beat them up as bad brothers afterward. *00:00* ability is bad, then maybe I'll get a get a switch all it for posterity. *00:00* It true. *00:00* though. *00:00* Like weird uh dual like the USB C cut out on the back for your capture and oh yeah it's micro USB, but yeah yeah it's on the top it's on the top, yeah. *00:00* is Link's Awakening problem. *00:00* Like th they apparently almost rewrote everything. *00:00* Yeah, and is this is this Grezzo like Lynx I think Grezo was the developer of uh Link's Awakening. *00:00* the game so they've only done remakes so where is this being developed like the the the as much as it looks like Link's Awakening *00:00* Wait. *00:00* understand it. *00:00* red faction on the PS2? *00:00* Um they become flashier looking, but the underpinnings are simpler. *00:00* happened because like uh like other developers are afraid of it like you know people there have been games that have come out like there was that one weird Ubisoft like Greek *00:00* popular in games but like for the most part the the structure and ambition in terms of uh you know what you can do with Breath of the Wild how *00:00* Right. *00:00* particular parameters assigned to them in terms of how they behave and react to *00:00* I am so eager to see dungeons in this game. *00:00* Of acknowledged that, yeah, we've kind of let Zelda become too mired down in its rigidity. *00:00* and what you do first, what you do next. *00:00* uh flexibility, um, you know, you come up with the solutions. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* with kids and play with it. *00:00* the Sony Pony stable. *00:00* uh properties because they have they have gotten so into the you know mature sad dad open world which you know don't get me wrong that stuff is is *00:00* on a Nintendo platform. *00:00* you know, lady fighting robot dinosaurs is probably the most family friendly thing that Sony currently has going on, or probably the closest thing not Horizon isn't family friendly. *00:00* I think the last Lego game I played was like Lego Indiana Jones on the Wii. *00:00* play here. *00:00* Exactly. *00:00* models like chibi-esque. *00:00* year uh because I was like, oh well this this is you know a visual novel like I I I can sure play that on eight hour flight. *00:00* games are from a first person perspective outside of the courtroom. *00:00* Than filling up the entire screen, so it's a very different look, and I wasn't sure if they could convincingly HDI f it. *00:00* Um upgraded chibi character sprites, so t do with that with what you will. *00:00* with those proportions because for one in pixel art it doesn't feel weird it it you know uh and the head needs to be the head needs to be large enough still so that you can make out their expression *00:00* Um I think in a tasteful way. *00:00* for many years and I don't mean to dis I don't mean to discount that but you know just having this official translation is is such a big deal *00:00* um the best presented uh HD uh ports that I've seen in in quite some time. *00:00* um cell shading outlines. *00:00* Rampa type game. *00:00* uh to an extent, but it's very different. *00:00* like almost like cross eyed look, the way that they draw their eyes. *00:00* I I don't know. *00:00* Or did I misinterpret this? *00:00* exciting to me about this one. *00:00* There is a version of this already on Switch. *00:00* Present it's not quite HD2D. *00:00* I thought it was very successful at doing that. *00:00* Uh I think it looks quite nice. *00:00* know over inflated budget games and you know when I see something like this I'm like look you if you can pull off something of this tier and for that to you know be enough of a success *00:00* Success, like I'm okay with developers like targeting this tier of of graphics. *00:00* remake. *00:00* That you will get to explore. *00:00* that's kind of what they would show. *00:00* I feel like it's a super switch game too. *00:00* perfect but I bet it will be pretty darn good. *00:00* um on the switch two super switch um but then i I played it and I'm like this is all it needs to be *00:00* It's yeah, it's just perfect. *00:00* Are you kidding me? *00:00* If you are at all interested in retro or lost Zelda history or any or Star Fox or F-Zero anything, go to the Digino Gaming channel and watch that. *00:00* me narratively and just the fact that they acknowledge Federation Force. *00:00* So I haven't played Corruption, but does Silex show up in Corruption? *00:00* same game. *00:00* That like all of these bad predator movies in the interim, like they like they set up something that could have been really cool to follow up on and they just never did it. *00:00* Stylus. *00:00* W why didn't you save some of these for another show? *00:00* ones. *00:00* Yeah, it was like that I was like, yep, this is you know, we're gonna be getting stuff like this this year. *00:00* Like that made logical sense to me. *00:00* been so long, you know, things like Zelda getting her own game, things like Ace Attorney Investigations 2 getting localized, things like Hironobu Sakaguchi's game not being on mobile anymore. *00:00* Well if it's not this what i I mean What is it? *00:00* was the Wii U. *00:00* So thank you so much. *00:00* Summer game fest, I don't know. *00:00* not really helpful for that look. *00:00* of the retro team 4K for myself. *00:00* got it here on your uh oh yeah on your list of talk about it yeah things to mention. *00:00* uh mod which is for sharpening up the blurrier uh earlier Super Nintendo systems. *00:00* Yeah, but I still there was a Gengar and a Lapras, and then I got a Mew through like doing the Mew glitch, so not an official one. *00:00* thing, backup cartridge dumper, and a bunch of different tools, and I got it from the N64 cartridge into Pokemon Home on the Switch, except for the Mew, because it was flagged as *00:00* From the Game Boy to the 3DS virtual console version of Blue. *00:00* file. *00:00* lose that save if we do use this cartridge. *00:00* that but oh now I have to now I I got I got a pal I got a pal copy because I I found a pal copy for like forty bucks on like Amazon UK *00:00* uh two trilogies, the Apollo Justice and the the original one. *00:00* uh you know, business expenses, you know, for tax purposes and you know, things that involve like my video game setup or business expenses *00:00* Send it to you or anything. *00:00* But I decided to try and do the math and figure out how many HDMI cables you had in this web. *00:00* in you know my living room setup, why do I need an Xbox One and an Xbox One X and an Xbox Series S in there? *00:00* Splitter that also is going to another splitter. *00:00* to get the fiber inside. *00:00* Um but let's talk about the Nintendo Direct. *00:00* That's just that that's that's that's I I'm born and bred Nintendo, you know? *00:00* End of life. *00:00* good approach, you know, because then you know the excitement of the reveal like kind of carries over to hey I can buy this not that far from now. *00:00* gradient. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* that was involved with it. *00:00* of the jokes and less so in just making the flow of the game interesting and fun. *00:00* cleanly. *00:00* I'm getting it, you know. *00:00* you know, beat specific challenges like beating Super Mario Brothers with warp pipes or in in one life while using warp pipes. *00:00* uh fantasian or f I think I'm saying that right that came out on iOS Apple Arcade back in I want to say it was twenty twenty one April and August it was two *00:00* Real I mean it's it's like Nightmare Before Christmas type real diorama type things. *00:00* Like it's such a fun RPG, plays unlike anything else, has perhaps the best uh character banter between your party members of anything I've ever played. *00:00* Some marketing videos. *00:00* so good on like a PS5 or an Xbox Series X. *00:00* Super cool. *00:00* um uh I mean not devoid of color, but it was limited in the way to where the colors that they did use really drew your eye. *00:00* Same. *00:00* But it definitely is giving the Metroidvania vibe. *00:00* either what they c either fake harvest moon or story of seasons. *00:00* Yeah, Donkey Kong Country returns returns. *00:00* game. *00:00* Intending to go, I there's I ignor like some people say, oh, there's a lot of people who say like Dying Kong Country Tropical Freezes them. *00:00* Two on the Game Boy Advance. *00:00* Pumped. *00:00* worked on for IGN and in that sense of I did was not paid. *00:00* considering you know some of their previous games. *00:00* port which was gorgeous because if you had for it and it was only digital but it you know if you had an Xbox One X it's native 4k I well i don't I'm not actually positive *00:00* out um and played like half of it I think and then I think I got distracted by something else. *00:00* try to give some personality to these characters or something. *00:00* visually. *00:00* NES version it uh it goes for more of a Dragon Quest VI aesthetic. *00:00* remakes. *00:00* And so it turns out that this is a separate game, which I I I think is fine, because Dragon Quest III is is a meaty game on its own. *00:00* you know, the w how the game plays and and the the s scale and scope of the game. *00:00* Pooped all over uh the existing Switch versions of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 1, 2, and 3 uh in that video. *00:00* Uh you know, you know, Yuji Hori, bless him, but he is not afraid to he he is not afraid to uh you know make a quick buck on uh *00:00* Like I um I I I I try the demos of like Dragon Quest Treasures and there's a new Dragon Quest Monsters game that came out last year. *00:00* choice. *00:00* higher resolution and smoother gameplay because I I I think for me they'll benefit for it from it. *00:00* Uh then Nintendo reminded you once again that Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is coming out soon. *00:00* I think, yeah. *00:00* I it it seems like, you know, the fact that it was kind of like a shadow drop thing, um, kind of makes me think it's a very small scale game. *00:00* Um Darkest Dungeon 2, making the jump to switch, uh what the day. *00:00* in this trailer. *00:00* you know, this stuff having to actually be captured on a Switch or Switch dev kit um for for these presentations. *00:00* I'm happy those are there. *00:00* icon with the N64 controller on it and and they like mosaic the middle handle on the N64 controller *00:00* that before. *00:00* Yes. *00:00* So like that's just the definitive version. *00:00* uh the spell names and item names and stuff like that. *00:00* uh in i in in the world of square ink. *00:00* But there's a I I I so yeah, I guess there wasn't another Phantom Brave game to my knowledge now that I now that I see. *00:00* I'm not a fighting game guy, really. *00:00* Yeah, well, yeah, I the only like m major fighting franchise that I've ever really gotten into is Soul Calibur. *00:00* Um so I've played nine and ten so far and I think uh later that later this year we scheduled 11. *00:00* It works. *00:00* Even though like like multiplayer gaming was not a big thing for me in college. *00:00* straight after uh Mario Party 1. *00:00* toads uh in games and that's why uh like the paper mario games stopped having like unique characters that like thousand years *00:00* party members that are, you know, very, you know, different. *00:00* Look they have like all the music from like Mario Party 1 and stuff like that and then like the the boards all come from Mario Party 1, 2, and 3. *00:00* makes them too mad. *00:00* The nostalgia play worked for me. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Uh, you know, some of the waggle stuff was dumb, yes, but um, you know, I I think there are examples of it having been done quite well on the Wii, especially when it comes to like pointer controls and stuff. *00:00* It was Camek instead of Donkey Kong. *00:00* And we're finally doing it. *00:00* Not that I not that cross my path like this I could not totally floor me and leave it totally for me please please go ahead *00:00* Well, I mean, yeah, uh this, however, is the game that I am worried about performance on the current Switch because *00:00* Link's Awakening has issues. *00:00* Because my goodness, they did the thing. *00:00* um uh replacement back plates and some of them were like for some of the collector's editions. *00:00* I know that the the Mariko switches and the OLED like have greater overclocking capabilities when they're hacked. *00:00* game. *00:00* You know, they came up with a completely new gameplay system for her and I think that's awesome. *00:00* I gotta like drop a rock to like stun a mobble. *00:00* And now you get to use that style of puzzle solving and combat, fusing items and all that stuff. *00:00* thing and putting it in 2D Zelda. *00:00* you know, PS5 and Xbox Series X and Steam, like the you know, remember back to the days of stuff like *00:00* In a lot of ways, as games have progressed, they have become more fixed and locked down in what they allow you to do. *00:00* Do whatever you want with it. *00:00* If the internet sleuths are correct, set in the Link to the Past overworld, not the Link's Awakening one. *00:00* A game where you are going to truly have solutions that you can invent yourself. *00:00* item if I recall correctly. *00:00* That's that's always the question for the ages. *00:00* But if I was a PlayStation fan and I had a kid who w I wanted to share PlayStation stuff with, this is a cool way to share this IP with. *00:00* What? *00:00* is good every now and then uh but like they they you know you know every game's gotta be this like super mature masterpiece *00:00* this yet like i it and also astro bot is like so tied to the sony brand and the hardware and stuff so you couldn't put that stuff in a game that you wanted to ship on *00:00* to these towns that are that sort of have some NPCs to interact with and uh sort of more uh *00:00* About the nature of a character who had been mentioned by name. *00:00* Thank goodness. *00:00* Great Ace Attorney Chronicles 2. *00:00* Minutes match. *00:00* Uh yeah, I think I I wrapped up case three around them, but that was also when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth came out. *00:00* I it's it's high on my list for getting back to. *00:00* Even though we haven't had a new game in so long, I'd say I'd say Ace Attorney fans have been treated really well with these most recent three compilations. *00:00* Um I I like I much prefer I've much preferred personally the 2D style from the DS ones. *00:00* and then playing Great Ace Attorney 2 in 4K thanks to the Tink. *00:00* You know, uh but I I've tried I've played a bit of several of them. *00:00* Well, yeah, this is a full-on 3D remake, you know, camera moving behind the character. *00:00* strikes me about that style. *00:00* of of this tier. *00:00* Um where they comment I this didn't jump out to me while I was watching the trailer, but they're like, this is 60 frames per second. *00:00* princess, but they they showed it off. *00:00* Samus hops out of her ship and this choir comes in. *00:00* Um and then at the very end they kind of show that Vista shot with like the gigantic tree and the streams and waterfalls. *00:00* On our list. *00:00* uh last year and if that even then I'm thinking like oh this is getting kinda near the end of the Switch's life like I wish we'd get a remaster of this or a remake or whatever you want to call it. *00:00* r overhauled all the assets. *00:00* look. *00:00* They've done it. *00:00* Like it's as good as the first shady in like a CG movie. *00:00* Who knows? *00:00* That studio is pitch crazy. *00:00* I'm here for it and just the I I mean I I hope I hope it is because as good as this looks, I would I would I would love to play it on a system where it looks even better. *00:00* You're like, go get this Metroid Egg. *00:00* A chibi model of Silex, the the other bounty hunter from Prime Hunters, and who shows up in the Prime 4 Beyond trailer stealing the Metroid egg. *00:00* Uh the ne most recent Predator movie called Prey ties into something that happens at the end of Predator 2. *00:00* Until this new movie that's actually by far the best Predator movie since the first one. *00:00* It is. *00:00* Because like I was that perfect age at DS and so I was in there on the multiplayer running around as the one that like it was a squid looking thing. *00:00* We're just gonna talk about the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild or things like that. *00:00* Uh again, aside from Kirby, like every beloved Nintendo thing ever. *00:00* the games that you thought would never happen. *00:00* And um Last Guardian. *00:00* I mean this is I mean not just within Nintendo I mean this is this is among the all-time the all-time great uh video game presentations. *00:00* Look look a little better, run a little better, you know. *00:00* A lot of the videos, I mean maybe most of the videos I do is like, I'm like, I'm interested in this subject. *00:00* And I'm like, oh, now I have to buy this. *00:00* sound signals even though it shouldn't like it would just like the audio would just like drop for a few seconds or something. *00:00* it fixes the core the capture issues I have with with some of those systems. *00:00* Before my tink. *00:00* How they're doing like kind of some like sort of flexible approaches to your situations and stuff, you know, it's it seems very different, but it also feels in the spirit of what they were trying to do with Goldeneye. *00:00* Like, oh my gosh, when that was uh that I mean that that that's one of the all-time great m you know, Nintendo presentation moments. *00:00* It applies to quite a few games that they showed off that were why real big surprises. *00:00* um very much uh you know don't show your cards until you know they're almost ready to release, right? *00:00* Yeah, no one saw this coming. *00:00* Um I'm just Mario RPG fans are eating so good right now. *00:00* Um there's like, hey, you'd still it's coming out, you should play it. *00:00* I re-watched it before we got on the call. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* It's like sometimes the Wii era just comes back a little bit. *00:00* You can't get through a Nintendo Direct these days without between one and three farming games, you know? *00:00* Harvestella. *00:00* The level design was better, but I had a good time. *00:00* Like I think that still captured the mood, um at least to my little kid brain. *00:00* country returns, but then I never beat it. *00:00* What? *00:00* I bet this looks really good on PS5. *00:00* And so that made that was fine for me in that sense. *00:00* I would say. *00:00* It's not that kind of game really, but like you you you like go to like the party planning tavern. *00:00* RPG gameplay, you know, you're developing your your character. *00:00* there um because as as much as square you know some of these games have a nintendo association almost anything square enix can have a play station association is *00:00* graphics or whatever and I own the physical game boy ones, so I was just like, I'll get it there. *00:00* You know, like kind of like kind of like a halfway point between like Fal Fantasy proportions and chrono trigger proportions, I would say. *00:00* Um but uh this yeah this this evolves the style to like you know more detail in the sprites. *00:00* smaller games. *00:00* one and two. *00:00* other stuff like um Bahamut Lagoon, uh Treasure Hunter G, stuff like that. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Super Princess Peach and some MRA game at the same time. *00:00* I don't know if it's like a spin-off or it's like I I I think it's kind of a kind of thing like you know how like uh Atlas has Shin Megame Tensei and they've got Persona and like they're Persona's the spin-off *00:00* Labeled? *00:00* I thought like the I mean the gameplay seemed interesting and the art style was appealing, but it it ran like garbage on the Switch, it looked like *00:00* With Mortal Kombat 9. *00:00* Yes. *00:00* Stop. *00:00* Um uh in Mario Part 1. *00:00* And the craziest part of it all, it's out in three months. *00:00* You do actually. *00:00* Okay, see. *00:00* Each other. *00:00* Sword and Breath of the Wild, we get a link between worlds, which kind of has this um this halfway point compromise in terms of *00:00* Um, I think I think it's the one in the Lost Woods. *00:00* Like I know he that he's like like he set up his like old Xbox One VCR unit to like oh yeah for his for his kids to play just dance on, you know so cool. *00:00* So you could make it for kids. *00:00* on 3DS, which you can't say about Ace Attorney 5 and 6 on 3DS in in English at least. *00:00* but they probably didn't want to make the overall character too big. *00:00* On the 3DS. *00:00* battlefield. *00:00* Versions, I'm not sure. *00:00* uh the Super Famicom original. *00:00* of a remake of the thing. *00:00* sake. *00:00* Came out after the Super Nintendo was already out. *00:00* what they saved for switch two. *00:00* I mean just absolute bonkers. *00:00* my life in gaming back to back double special. *00:00* section uh because we kind of we wanted to acknowledge it and some of the most important key points but I really kind of wanted the focus of the video be the HDMI stuff because I just I just had so much I wanted to say about because there were *00:00* process of making the video is basically how I teach myself. *00:00* To home and then home to Scarlet. *00:00* Wow. *00:00* And maybe we'll talk about Phoenix right later. *00:00* 5 input HDMI 2. *00:00* Like this is a show. *00:00* Um but then skipping Partners in Time, that felt wrong. *00:00* off like I was immediat I mean just the sheer surprise of it was uh exciting enough and then the fact that well it must be from a different developer. *00:00* good enough RPG, I mean, you know, but like I know nothing. *00:00* And now, Square Enix is helping bring this game to consoles. *00:00* you know, showcases for uh you know what was at the time cutting edge, you know, CGI pre-renders. *00:00* just like didn't care about Donnie Kong Country anymore. *00:00* I love the, you know, they've got David Wise involved. *00:00* game series, you know, trying something new, doing something different. *00:00* put as much work into updating it as you might think. *00:00* PlayStation finally got digital version of Octopath 1. *00:00* And um and I would say a a fairly significant jump up from one and two, uh just in terms of *00:00* Switch man, they they are bad. *00:00* I can't remember if it actually supported D-pad movement. *00:00* That context like really drove home for me just how unappealing they are. *00:00* you know, multiple dimensions and like they're all being bought by like visitors from another dimension. *00:00* uh my father-in-law and sister-in-law who have like they share a switch at their house and so and then my sister-in-law plays like the N64 stuff all the time *00:00* I remember I think it was Manhunt or something, like seeing that box. *00:00* to buy sure the game but like I was like kind of nervous and like there they I I I I think some stores like enforced it a little bit but *00:00* kind of look a little cleaner in the monochrome modes or there's like some weird sort of compromises in the way that they section off like the color regions on the *00:00* Like it it it the the the the graphics are uh like some reused tiles and sprites between versions, but it's it's *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* Yeah, so I'm not sure. *00:00* It would be a remake and it would do the Zelda thing, especially on handhelds, of taking the game and reusing the assets to make another one. *00:00* Uh I I don't need the OLED really. *00:00* Just, you know, to have a s a good system for posterity for playing DS games on. *00:00* But I t I said to my wife, I'm like, wow, we've we've got Eloise's birthday gift right here. *00:00* I d I don't I don't know it being a switch light makes it slightly resistible. *00:00* Like I I can handle frame rate drops. *00:00* Duplicate it, replicate it in the world, and use that to solve puzzles or combat. *00:00* uh the flexibility versus uh the familiarity where you have this system where you the rent the dungeon items *00:00* surprising but at the time it was on stay at play I was just like what the like I wasn't mad about it like I liked the first horizon I I I've not played the second one yet but I I mean it looks really good um *00:00* Uh z so I mean you know i I I but I was just like, who was asking for this? *00:00* Like the first Star Wars one. *00:00* I mean lately I've kind of felt like I could I could see myself maybe being more in the mood for a game like that because like at the time that they were coming out I was like, well these are neat for the references, but the gameplay's pretty paper thin, you know? *00:00* around the world, but the world itself is kind of made with like real materials and and grass and trees and stuff. *00:00* But then probably my second favorite thing from the direct. *00:00* I think I finished the third. *00:00* Um but actually option is there. *00:00* So well. *00:00* Um yeah, romancing saga too. *00:00* So that's cool. *00:00* I'm guessing this was kind of like a slice of the game that's like very much the beginning, sort of a linear section that's setting up the story. *00:00* Not at all. *00:00* Dr. *00:00* And that's right. *00:00* It's a little slower than I would like, but we are getting it all cooked and ready for you. *00:00* You know, either you like lean all the way into getting like a nice CRT look, or you lean all the way into getting a sharp pixel. *00:00* Oh nice. *00:00* I mean so that uh in in that diagram there was like a 16 input HDMI switcher, which kind of annoyed me actually because um it had issues passing certain surroundings. *00:00* So it's like, I mean, it's yeah, I mean I just I have I have a you know and then the way that it's routed from there, you know, that goes to a couple other splitters to a couple other *00:00* Like, you know, you shouldn't discount that they've actually got a lot uh going on behind the scenes. *00:00* talent, uh possibly from the prior games. *00:00* you know just just to tell a joke uh and I was just like I just got real tired of it and I'm like okay it's funny but like I don't I don't know if I need this again so and I think *00:00* Gonna be like, I can do this, I'll get on the leaderboards and then all of the world's speedrunners are just owning the top leaderboards. *00:00* It's uh what's even the point. *00:00* I mean me and some of my friends have been talking like let's just just Square Enix just like give Yoshida's team like all the resources Sakaguchi *00:00* I I I I want to like that game so much, but the the mechanics drive me up a wall. *00:00* It's okay. *00:00* system and your party you kind of just create your party um it's uh you know think of I don't know if you ever played anything like a Etrian Odyssey *00:00* building your characters and not so much on like you know character development in in terms of story right uh it's character development in terms of *00:00* I because here's the thing, like this HC2D stuff started on Switch, but I feel like the Switch *00:00* And so it kind of skews closely to the Dragon Quest V look. *00:00* I mean. *00:00* of of what your characters can do. *00:00* Um not as badly as the one, two, and three uh Android ports on the mobile ones, yeah. *00:00* Absolutely. *00:00* and randomization that really worked for me. *00:00* Uh wild. *00:00* Maybe ten years from now will finally be my year for Capcom and I won't be able to buy this anymore. *00:00* uh want to play with one of those switch online controllers. *00:00* Which is a pretty good name, I think. *00:00* one through nine or ten, I think. *00:00* So I'm interested curious. *00:00* I did not like how DS games looked or played on the 3DS, so I I shortly after 3DS launch, I bought a DSI XL. *00:00* But I'm looking at this gameplay for Echoes of Wisdom, and it it doesn't seem to have screen transitions. *00:00* It looks, I mean, let's get off of the performance concerns. *00:00* That UI popped up to pick anything, and I went, oh my gosh, they just made 2D Tears of the Kingdom. *00:00* And and and having it do just these fr these you know fresh new things that we've not seen in this style of Zelda before. *00:00* Well that it's like what you were kind of just talking about before. *00:00* Order. *00:00* Um, you know, we're not going to be able to do that. *00:00* uh the Grade Ace Attorney ports and the 456 ports, uh, but just the the mere fact that it exists *00:00* And then Master Detective Archives Rain Code. *00:00* tier of of uh of uh of production here. *00:00* They may not have the highest output of a studio, and I think there's been a lot of turmoil there kind of as they've sifted through projects and things that have *00:00* Yeah, well I mean it's like, you know, it kinda like I don't I don't I don't I don't know like uh if you've ever seen it, but like it's it kinda makes me think about how *00:00* So like it kind of makes me think of that where it's like, wow, they're like going all in on like following up on this pl the plot and characters of a game no one cares about in this *00:00* And uh that I stumbled into that bonus end credit scene um without trying or even knowing it was possible. *00:00* When they announced Nintendo World Championships like that set the tone for this year. *00:00* Yeah, yeah. *00:00* It might be. *00:00* Right. *00:00* How do I get these off of this cartridge? *00:00* So yeah, we did that. *00:00* Five or six more there, and then you've got, you know, like uh four more by the time it gets to the AV receiver in that room, and then now that's not considering the downstairs setup, which now is *00:00* two five input HD uh HDMI two point oh switchers and one of those is fed by f uh uh another *00:00* full year of Switch, like whatever Switch 2, Super Switch, whatever it is, it likely will be out by next summer. *00:00* Well, I you know, I I got a confession to make. *00:00* Super Mario RPG Thousand Year Door and now a new Mario and Luigi game? *00:00* Then we get a game that I'm happy is escaping the confines of locals. *00:00* Yeah, it's it gives me a little Ori vibes, a little hollow night. *00:00* Okay. *00:00* Like way up there. *00:00* And that that kind of inherently makes you know, playing playing with a friend is always just fun and *00:00* Um and so and just everything just looks so much more fluid and more like a retro game when it moves at sixty frames per second. *00:00* But I I think it I think it looks good. *00:00* Maybe. *00:00* The Funko Fusion. *00:00* Metroid Dreads. *00:00* Um, it said in the direct that it's a timed console exclusive on the Switch. *00:00* Are you a Metal Slug guy? *00:00* Okay. *00:00* So that was my checkout experience. *00:00* as far as I could tell, almost the same, but the l the level layout is different, the way the game o operates is different, like uh the way the camera just like scrolls is completely different. *00:00* layout and visuals and puzzles, it's it's it's a different game. *00:00* Marvel vs. *00:00* Uh yeah, like the Capcom, like like Street Fighter 2, absolute phenomenon for like most people in the gaming world, especially when it came out, but like *00:00* Now that's the one that takes a bunch of stuff from the old ones, right? *00:00* possibly going to go in directions of I mean I I don't inherently have like a you know a a revulsion towards motion controls or anything *00:00* I don't know either. *00:00* Us as the AI characters, and we were so mad, and we like immediately went and beat them up in Smash Brothers after. *00:00* But it you know, it's that art style from Link's Awakening on Switch, which is gorgeous, I think. *00:00* Yeah, absolutely. *00:00* And then they have that sort of systems-driven gameplay kind of brought into the classic style of Zelda. *00:00* Yeah, and so ultimately they made Breath of the Wild, but kind of after he already had said these things, kind of as an interim between Sky. *00:00* Uh and that lets you choose which dungeon you can go to. *00:00* It's that that's the most entertainment I get out of just dance anyway. *00:00* year ago or a year and a half ago I think. *00:00* Wrong. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* I just got sidetracked, I guess. *00:00* PS2, PS3 energy, but like to me looks more polished just visually, like smoother assets and things. *00:00* But if they just got something like this but were still very faithful to the original, I'd be okay with that. *00:00* It feels it feels very just honest and down to earth and not overinflated but polished for what it is. *00:00* It is very much a Metroid Prime game, a very beautiful, very retro in that retro studio, not retro art style. *00:00* launch game or a near launch game. *00:00* They are. *00:00* That's from Luigi's Mansion too. *00:00* I would say it is not a prime game. *00:00* Like the I'm not saying everything here, but I think the highs were high. *00:00* Dang man. *00:00* Like like, oh my gosh. *00:00* And we ultimately ended up using the um the EverDrive anyway, so it didn't really matter. *00:00* That I had registered some Pokemon from my original, original Pokemon Blue. *00:00* Pretty subdued. *00:00* As soon as Luigi popped out, I was like, oh my gosh, they're doing it again. *00:00* So that was the first three D S one. *00:00* founded by the you know uh co-founded by the director of Super Mario RPG and I think they may have possibly had some other stack *00:00* Or it might have been Square Enix by the time he left. *00:00* It's like here we're having a space. *00:00* Well I I I think I think too the just you know, this clearly looks like a step back from tropical freeze. *00:00* It is cool to see that the 3DS levels are at least being brought forward. *00:00* So that is something to just like put a pin in. *00:00* My brain goes this way sometimes where I'm like, well, it has a history on Nintendo, so maybe I should get it on the Switch. *00:00* Um, I mean I I don't think you would want this style in like NES proportions. *00:00* uh sprites very low color um the super famicom remake of dragon quest 3 uses taller sprites than the original *00:00* If I go to any of my local game shops, I mean the Funko Pops are it's almost like a GameStop conversion thing. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* The Nintendo Switch Online, they gotta have one of these in the middle. *00:00* And so when I consider the family plan aspect of it, that makes sense. *00:00* It's all on one cartridge, right? *00:00* um but uh yeah i'm this this is this one's a wait and see for me like like the they they brought me back with with mario party superstars making it *00:00* Nice and then ever since that point it became a tradition that every time we played Mario Party, the AI had to be Mario and Donkey Kong. *00:00* Like the game just hard drops to 30 frames per second for a couple of seconds, and then it hard jumps to 60, and it's *00:00* And that so this was this was an element to bring that back and e and go even further. *00:00* But now that I'm like an old man and sometimes like want to play something that doesn't require a lot of thought what I'm winding down in the evening. *00:00* Um but um but yes, I mean for the most part there's nowhere else to go but Ace Attorney 7. *00:00* Um uh which you know I I like the Dangan Rapa games generally, but like I'm not like a mega fan or anything. *00:00* Um they kind of just showed off the things that say Prime. *00:00* There was a tactics game they pitched very far. *00:00* But before we talk about the direct, I just wanted to catch up a little bit from the last time you were on the show, which was I want to say like September. *00:00* Separate. *00:00* uh in testing all of my I I just went through a journey of figuring out uh how to convert and back up all of my *00:00* I mean most of your guys' videos are click right away. *00:00* And what do I see in the GameStop? *00:00* But now that it is coming to console, complete, altogether, I mean this is like finally. *00:00* Like I thought the I thought the world map looked awesome in this trailer. *00:00* Yeah, well you get it. *00:00* I'd love to see more Dragon Quest. *00:00* I that's one of those I got uh an eShop card for Christmas one year and that was the game I got and now I'm like dang now *00:00* And then playing that game at 60 frames per second in 4K or Oh, I didn't is the Switch version really not 60? *00:00* Sure. *00:00* Yeah, and I've got I've got like the complete edition that comes with that stuff. *00:00* And I just have that for my mister. *00:00* Um Link Between Worlds, Triforce Heroes, like just me. *00:00* launch switch. *00:00* So maybe it's open in that sense. *00:00* What is actually shared by it in terms of the underpinnings of the engine, in terms of development staff? *00:00* This is Zelda has the this like try wand staff thing and can summon objects, echoes they call them. *00:00* This game is like comes full circle with what they were doing with Breath of the Wild, which was taking the ideas and freedom of the legend of Zelda on NES and bringing that into a 3D environment to *00:00* Yeah, yeah, yeah um but s speaking of eight bit, um the stray port looks like it's running in *00:00* The next game was that Hobbit farming game. *00:00* I think some people are like, well, but you know. *00:00* Like I didn't like the way the characters the way the characters animate, the way they walk, just like made me feel uncomfortable. *00:00* I mean I think the work of those fans is part of what has helped spark this ace attorney revolution of bringing everything to the West. *00:00* Somewhat quenched the thirst of the lack of ace attorney, you know? *00:00* I don't see it on the Wikipedia page. *00:00* So uh I bet this has performance issues on Switch with like all of the the it looks like there's a huge number of enemies out on this sort of uh strategy. *00:00* directly ties into the end of Federation Force. *00:00* So it's uh you know, I mean even even go back to Super Nintendo. *00:00* I dumped my Mischief Makers save on that uh recently because um uh a friend was going to be streaming Mischief Makers *00:00* I was like, maybe this will work. *00:00* how much I might have to move and unplug and plug in again if they depending on where they need to access the wall. *00:00* And what's cool is it's out in five months. *00:00* I mean it looks it looks great it it looks it looks fun it looks fun I ain't gonna lie I uh I am *00:00* And it is from uh Mr. *00:00* I I I I guess there was always this kind of question in my head, like, you know, is Final Fantasy great because of Sakaguchi, or was it was it great because of the people that were around *00:00* No. *00:00* So then, if I may ask, what do you think of Tropical Freeze? *00:00* I was like, yeah, this is gonna be awesome. *00:00* I don't recall. *00:00* I I've played through the NES version, so I can understand where you're going with that like Nintendo association. *00:00* Especially those DS prices. *00:00* I never hear anyone talk about them like that likes them. *00:00* I don't know, but then GameStop wouldn't would probably not be so empty when you go in there now these days. *00:00* Metal slug physical. *00:00* I'm not gonna keep doing this. *00:00* Oh that would be really cool. *00:00* I've there's I feel like there's some rock star uh rated the list The list for rated MN64 games cannot be *00:00* Oh it's it's well and you know the Game Boy game. *00:00* Uh how they use Final Fantasy names for in games that aren't Final Fantasy, you know. *00:00* Maybe. *00:00* Mostly because like I always like the well, they didn't do this for Super Mario or Mario Party superstars, but in Mario Party 2, they dress up in like c different costumes. *00:00* retro throwback which is less appealing to me. *00:00* Kamuk is one of my favorite Mario characters. *00:00* But I still don't really want to clock I don't really want to hack the OLED one. *00:00* I'm finally in a Zelda game. *00:00* Yeah. *00:00* I'll take it. *00:00* Yes, yes. *00:00* So good. *00:00* Oh I mean let me double check that I mean since you mention it like maybe their proportions are a little bit off like the head might be a a a teensy bit l *00:00* Uh same exact boat, but I think based off our conversation earlier in the show, you are jumping up and down slightly for the next game, right? *00:00* 3D remake of Trials of Mana. *00:00* No, and don't believe that. *00:00* It's there and again, I just beat it earlier this year, you know, a couple like a month ago, maybe at this point. *00:00* Like they have to acknowledge that. *00:00* Mario 64 and Mario Party 3 might have been that year. *00:00* Maybe the Robobot or whatever would be remade. *00:00* But um yeah yeah man I think so that does it I think for the direct thank you try *00:00* Can you just imagine that Mario Kart Nine finally will be announced? *00:00* It's crazy. *00:00* That was what I called it. *00:00* And you know, th I I've changed things even since then. *00:00* So again for me, like thanks for showing it to me, Nintendo, but I'm probably gonna get this looks like a game that would be better served by a more powerful system. *00:00* It looks gorgeous. *00:00* I cannot adapt. *00:00* That's wild. *00:00* It was it looked Japanese. *00:00* uh mm maybe like four or five months from turning seventeen. *00:00* And he went went in the back and he got one out for me. *00:00* My first, you know, funny enough, I mean it's it's the game the games we're talking about. *00:00* Because that I'm pretty positive that came out before Conquerors Bad for a day. *00:00* Yeah, it's the spin-off, but it's like it's also like a separate thing because like in Japan, they've never given Persona the Shin Megame Tensei *00:00* Like we played one and two all the time, three a little less, but you know, enough to make it worth it, especially considering that that game's very expensive now. *00:00* Um I sold I sold my GameCube ones at some point, and I wish I hadn't, uh because they are expensive now. *00:00* That's awesome. *00:00* Getting the same problem, dude. *00:00* You know, so however, that said, um, the fact that a different developer is handling it and the fact that um *00:00* The way the world is constructed is different because remember those Lego games had Lego, the Traveler's Tales games, they have Lego characters and Lego objects. *00:00* Same boat, same bo. *00:00* I do plan on tricking her into playing video games in some form of chronological order with generations. *00:00* I mean I didn't I I was torn. *00:00* Because in some ways I think similar i the asset, like the environments, I believe stayed the same. *00:00* And the background is slightly crunchier. *00:00* Thus further reaffirming to me this is a cross-gen title. *00:00* I did not I was not coordinating enough for the thumb thing. *00:00* Uh uh last year was uh Return to Dreamless DX. *00:00* Thanks to your Synology. *00:00* You know, because I kind of like it because I don't know if you're how familiar you are with mischief makers, but it's got um for some reason you put your it asks you to put your age on the save *00:01* Kind of what turned me off of over time was I felt like they spent so much time setting up everything for things in service of the *00:01* Yeah. *00:01* Oh okay, okay so there we go. *00:01* Mostly because like man, Donkey Kong Country Super Nintendo trilogy, like, I mean, they are way up there on my favorite platformers of all *00:01* Who is buying him? *00:01* And the only reason I stopped was is I'm one trophy away from the platinum and it's just pure RNG. *00:01* I was like, oh, it's a completely separate I mean I don't even have access to this because I've never gotten the expansion pass. *00:01* Almost uh it it is shockingly different. *00:01* So I'm just happy that it is accessible to an audience that would want to play it. *00:01* I'm not buying these anymore. *00:01* So the fact that they call this Super Mario Party Jamboree kind of makes me think that they aren't going as much for that, you know. *00:01* Um the Metroid one, the uh Metroid Samus Returns was one, which was a kind of a gold color, but I was like, uh, it's gonna be a different gold color. *00:01* You just got a crazy 3DS setup. *00:01* And that then they do Tears of the Kingdom and go go even further with just the insanity of what you can do in this world. *00:01* Right, but like like positioning seems broadly similar. *00:01* I told uh I have my I have another friend, dear ace attorney loving friend, and I was like, dang, I think trials and tribulations is medits. *00:01* Um, yeah, now that I've I've finished Rebirth and uh you know I've I've done a few other games like I *00:01* is from a first person perspective and it's more of a point and click type thing. *00:01* It's in production. *00:01* Like it the way you remember it in your head, like looking that good, it looks like that. *00:01* Yeah, because everyone's been saying like apparently the re like everyone expected it to come out this year and then uh it's like uh it sounds like it's gonna be delayed to twenty twenty five and you know the rumors say whether they're they're subsc *00:01* You had like the production model up. *00:01* Yeah. *00:01* And video games and uh It's where I cut my teeth. *00:01* Even you can see it. *00:01* I don't know who's making this game. *00:01* So like I have a fond of special fondness for for tropical freeze for a multitude of reasons. *00:01* Uh Octopath 1. *00:01* Like Tomodachi Life and That's what I thought it was at first. *00:01* I just it was like not the metal slug I thought was going to appear. *00:01* Turok and Perfect Dark. *00:01* Yeah. *00:01* Um so I'm glad that's free. *00:01* I was gonna say, was that mandate not in effect in Thousand Your Door? *00:01* Cowboy Mario's the the best. *00:01* That was a different um clear clearly the case. *00:01* Absolutely. *00:01* So I thought this would just kind of follow the trend, uh a few trends. *00:01* Like I it is I feel like I've picked the perfect time to play Tears of the Kingdom because I'll I'll finish that up eventually, you know, and then I'll be able to go right into this *00:01* Like Horizon and Lego. *00:01* Ace Attorney Investigations Collection. *00:01* Oh okay, yeah, okay. *00:01* I am in love with the animation studio mode that they put in there. *00:01* But regardless, yeah, that that there is a bit of skepticism about whether that particular game was captured on Switch. *00:01* And if anything, if you just take that speculation and then you look at all of the stuff that did you know gaming has pulled up over the last couple of years from their interviews with former retro staff, *00:01* I'd have to check. *00:01* You guys are cranking out some more stuff this year, like you were talking about. *00:01* I am hopeful for other additions eventually. *00:01* His studio made this game with dioramas and then put the character models in the *00:01* I absolutely loved it. *00:01* So he he he has proven himself, I would say, um uh in independently of Square Enix. *00:01* Yeah, and you know it seems like it seems like Sakaguchi's getting a along really well with with Square Yanks in recent years. *00:01* They were doing things like, oh yeah, once we got the project, like everyone, you know, we were like, okay, everyone has to, you know, go home and play, you know, the first three games and study them and see why they're great. *00:01* I I understand I understand the conflicted feelings though. *00:01* And I'm specifically thinking either Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI. *00:01* I'm I'm just happy this game is coming up. *00:01* Go for it. *00:01* Monochrome modes, the Super Game Boy modes, and the Game Boy Color modes, because I feel like most people look at those and they're like, oh, they're Game Boy Color games, Game Boy Color is the better system. *00:01* So like uh there there's like the Disgaya series, which is like a strategy series, and like Phantom Brave, I think, is like *00:01* It was just one another one of those commercial for PlayStation inside the direct. *00:01* Capcom two is free from its prison. *00:01* I'm sure there's some people rolling their eyes thinking like no you gotta play with an arcade stick, but I I am not an arcade stick guy. *00:01* And I like kept buying these Mario Party games like out of habit. *00:01* Yes, unfortunately. *00:01* Oh my gosh. *00:01* It's just good to see it. *00:01* Did Retro even do Federation Force? *00:01* I was playing playing Federation Force for the podcast and I kept hearing the sound effect. *00:01* I played a bit of Hunters back in the day. *00:01* Uh and oops, we hit three hours on our recording here at least. *00:01* Yeah, this is gonna be a super great show. *00:01* He did the next episode, which was I called that one the release date of this house because he is talking about his house. *00:01* It's like not it's not like for like the dead or alive like reasons. *00:01* But once I'm finally playing Tears of the Kingdom. *00:01* So now I'm I have like some redundant systems and older systems like like for example I've gotten Xbox Series X *00:01* Yeah, m I mean Marvelous, like they they publish a lot of like the I mean ar don't they I think they're the ones that have *00:01* All sorts of stuff. *00:01* Thank you. *00:01* I mean I I played Super Mario RPG with the Super Nintendo controller. *00:01* Meeting. *00:01* So I so I have that expansion pass because when it was launching, um you could get the Animal Crossing DLC and my wife *00:01* Yeah, yeah. *00:01* Like Mario Party 5, I played like once with my cousin and that was it. *00:01* You're a rich man. *00:01* But but regardless, uh this new one, uh the previous game was called Super Mario. *00:01* The Majors Matter. *00:01* So I'm actually I'm watching the trailer and I'm wondering so Link's Awakening, obviously a remake, and they adhered to that style of screen transitions. *00:01* I mean some of the things that um that were said about the development of Tears of the Kingdom is that, you know, even though it looks so, so similar and plays so, so similar *00:01* Um and like this is a game that I am I'm not waiting for Switch 2 to play this. *00:01* They're like, oh, this is like Breath of the Wild. *00:01* Yeah, it it looks way more dang and rampa than the last thing or two. *00:01* I'm not familiar with that one. *00:01* So I I I want to see Square Enix do more uh uh more games *00:01* Uh so it's just you know trials of mana was 30 frames per second on switch. *00:01* I gotta be honest, I didn't think it'd show up. *00:01* Yes, I like the purple and I like the vibe of it. *00:01* Donkey Kong looks immaculate. *00:01* Of course they acknowledge. *00:01* I mean my goodness, you know, I I I I thought we were like man, we were like going down the list. *00:01* We've got Dragon Quest here. *00:01* Yes. *00:01* I love Sakaguchi. *00:01* That apparel according to Wikipedia is a 2020 psychological horror visual novel developed by a Russian game developer. *00:01* Um, you know, my my my favorites are um eight, eleven, three, and four. *00:01* I like those Nintendo Switch Online controllers. *00:01* Um that involves involves maybe a cat or something. *00:01* It was good to see that just for the I know there are a lot of fans of that particular series. *00:01* It it like once I played that, like that increased my hype for Metroid Prime 4 significantly. *00:01* I got one of those um cartridge readers. *00:01* Thr one three input HDMI two point one switcher. *00:01* And that took like six hours. *00:01* And of course, you know, they brought on Yokoshima Mura for all of the soundtracks, just like she did uh Super Mario RPG. *00:01* Then uh we got this like little chunk of like some Disney DLC for Illusion Island, Hello Kitty Animal Crossing, I mean Island Adventure. *00:01* That was that was something. *00:01* I remember doing that for the Prime trilogy, which in hindsight was a great investment. *00:01* It's totally fine. *00:01* You know, we've known this has been in the works for a very long time. *00:01* Yeah, they're not. *00:01* Like whoever came up with HD2D, give that person a raise. *00:01* Leading up to the direct, there was a rumor that Dragon Quest III was actually going to be the whole trilogy. *00:01* I mean, may I'm sure there's some depth if you you get into them, but I I just I was kind of like, ugh, the the presentation was really turning me off. *00:01* So maybe that could be made from the ground up to be a HD2D thing. *00:01* So it makes sense there, but you're absolutely right. *00:01* Are you you familiar with this? *00:01* Yeah, okay. *00:01* I even joked, so my daughter's birthday is the twenty-seventh and she'll be two. *00:01* Um, because I I forget what it was. *00:01* I'm curious if when you turn on the pixel art mode if that will also give you pixel art of the larger portrait. *00:01* So, you know. *00:01* Like th this like Metroid Prime 4 doesn't really need to be anything above and beyond what they've already done here with Metroid Prime remastered. *00:01* Oh, I would love to. *00:01* It's I'm just I was actually just trying to do that for Castlevania Symphony of the Night. *00:01* So I grabbed those two and then the third game I grabbed was Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade for the PS5 because the North American version is like $140 or something. *00:01* So there I know I know like what's stuff was in these low print runs. *00:01* I mean, let me put it this way, when you're showing a Zelda game that no one saw coming two-thirds into the presentation, it's not the one more thing? *00:01* Um you and me both. *00:01* I'd never heard of it before, but Mio, memories in orbit. *00:01* Yeah. *00:01* They also announce Dragon Quest 1 and 2 are getting the HD2D remake out next year, completing this little trilogy of *00:01* I don't I I I people would probably prefer HD2D, but I would be happy with either approach uh for those games. *00:01* But similar to what we were talking about with Dragon Quest, Hades did not click for me on Nintendo Switch. *00:01* Probably not that long. *00:01* That's true. *00:01* It's fun for a little bit, but like I don't know. *00:01* And so you you can you you can you are essentially, you know, this agent of chaos dropped into this world, and you can *00:01* Ooh. *00:01* Alright. *00:01* But after your retro tink video, you have this beautiful diagram of your entire layout and flow. *00:01* It was actually the day I ordered the tink. *00:01* It's it's a lot of HDMI cables. *00:01* It can it can take some it can take some doing. *00:01* I'm I'm just so thrilled that this game is coming to console for other people and for myself to actually dig into it. *00:01* Yeah, Rune Factory's uh yeah, that's that's all. *00:01* I knew I was missing one. *00:01* You know, I I'm a physical media guy, and a lot of these HD2D games in the past have only gotten physical copies on Nintendo. *00:01* Um you know I I would love to see something similar to Live Alive that you know never got a Western release. *00:01* It was the goofiest looking thing though. *00:01* And what's cool about four swords is you can play online together with your friends. *00:01* That's true. *00:01* Oh my gosh, that's so good. *00:01* It it oh well. *00:01* But yeah, this is this is a big deal apparently. *00:01* Six on the GameCube. *00:01* I haven't bought a Mario Party game in a very long time and mostly because my friends buy it. *00:01* And it seems to, I saw a picture um perusing the internet a little bit. *00:01* Well, but you know what? *00:01* So I I I I'm I'm not sold on this at all, but like I could I could definitely see myself getting it someday, but uh for PS5. *00:01* Oh my gosh. *00:01* Like there that it's a weird art style. *00:01* I'll I I'm giving it another chance. *00:01* Then uh everyone's favorite sports video game, Nintendo Switch Sports, got basketball. *00:01* It was like this weird monster kind of summoning game on the DS, and I think eventually it got like a Wii or something port. *00:01* Yes. *00:01* But that is well they're they're move they're clearly moving up in the world even if it's not my uh not my favorite game. *00:01* Yeah, I actually don't know what the CIB price is for that. *00:01* Like the way that that gold is like rusted on it, like it just starts flaking off and the top is still fine, but I ended up g I Nintendo's online store used to sell *00:01* I have actually been wondering for a while how or if they could do HD versions of these games because that the the the way that they're presented, I mean for people who don't know, you know, most ace attorney games *00:01* So yeah, I agree. *00:01* Like we just need to left. *00:01* I to be honest, I haven't played it yet I haven't played it yet. *00:01* Yeah, I yeah, there's like it there's something down to earth about it, right? *00:01* Now is it is it appropriate for a Final Fantasy VI or a Chrono trigger? *00:01* I mean, now, since that wasn't announced here, like that's almost a shoe in the next 3D. *00:01* Oh my goodness. *00:01* No. *00:01* So so I haven't played it yet either. *00:01* I got it on Switch, but then I bought obvious then obviously uh Symphony of the Night Rondo the Requiem only on PlayStation because of presumably *00:01* And then so and then I got the advanced ones on PlayStation because I wanted the higher *00:01* Um well this blew my mind. *00:01* Yeah, they might those might actually be different. *00:01* Yeah, now yeah, I'm thinking like, yeah, they even brought back the toes, but now I'm thinking, yeah, I think I misremembered. *00:01* So and Mario Party Jamboree, really quick, it's out later this year again. *00:01* I I yeah, this this was I was not into that. *00:01* Oh, I oh gosh, I'm I'm excited. *00:01* Like I feel like it's just it's a very clu it it sure, this is not like, you know, Final Fantasy VII remake. *00:01* I'm I'm excited about this. *00:01* We're getting ready to record that sweet, sweet Federation Force episode actually next week. *00:01* I'm sure we'll see games like Mario and Luigi and and games that are already out, like uh, you know, some of the most popular Switch games. *00:01* And I was like, I I want it so bad I was just I was so worried for years, like, oh man, this game looks like, you know *00:01* Uh like my I I like I I I say this kind of jokingly, but like it it almost feels like when they like made the *00:01* Oh the first mission remakes. *00:01* You get it. *00:01* That has kind of recently resurfaced. *00:01* I didn't I didn't really think think that through, but yeah, that that's pretty interesting. *00:01* But it is they just put the logo right over Cyclops and Ryu's face, like just smack dab in the middle. *00:01* Well, I mean I I probably would get the Switch version in this case, assuming that the input lag uh you know comparable across versions, just because like this strikes me as a game that I would *00:01* We're finally playing as Princess Zelda. *00:01* So there are three more games in the direct. *00:01* It it's a bit hit or miss for me, but I did think the game looked potentially cool. *00:01* I I think this was kind of just like a bit of a action set piece similar to the beginning of almost any Metroid game, right? *00:01* Well, if you do listener, skip ahead a little bit. *00:01* Nintendo acting going for it. *00:01* That would be a good one because I mean that's that might be that there's an argument to be made that's the best Kirby game. *00:01* I I think that'll be like a fun game to like stream with friends. *00:01* I don't think yeah, I don't think Triangle has made the jump to PS5 or Xbox yet. *00:01* Also just foreshadow some stuff later in the direct. *00:01* Really? *00:01* Um and this year actually I have been getting into Mortal Kombat. *00:01* I mean, it's it's very much in the spirit of Tears of the Kingdom, I would say, in the sense that Tears of the Kingdom is a very, you know, what people will call a systems-driven game. *00:01* It's been a been a little while since I played through the whole game. *00:01* Folks can find you over on YouTube at My Life in Gaming, one of my favorite channels online. *00:01* E3 season. *00:02* Okay. *00:02* I have it pre-ordered already because pre-orders went up uh I think the day of the Nintendo Direct. *00:02* So I I think all the Dragon Quest games are in need of uh, you know little touch-up. *00:02* I need it. *00:02* Now, if I if I'm remembering right, and I I don't know if this is something you know about, there's it's kind of infamous. *00:02* It's a crazy looking sprite. *00:02* I'm happy, like this is something I want to pick up purely because I feel like it will be d *00:02* So I I rarely get takers to play it, but it's really well done. *00:02* I mean, that is that I mean just such a a beautiful playground kind of concept of I I *00:02* It was just it was just perfect. *00:02* Yeah. *00:02* It's just like what's your age? *00:02* Um, Xbox, real good. *00:02* So that that real good show. *00:02* So they seem to have done a a few of this type. *00:02* Uh that's all I'm gonna say about it. *00:02* Returnal. *00:02* Yeah, I I'm just I'm just surprised because like that's that it strikes me as a game that like they would definitely want maybe it does target 60 on all *00:02* And I'm like, I'll be seventeen in August. *00:02* Running on Switch. *00:02* Right. *00:02* It's been I d I don't know why I never like picked up the next, you know, two or collections or anything like that. *00:02* Um, I I think it was on the DF Direct that they did a bonus DF Direct on this Nintendo Direct. *00:02* This is almost certainly Unreal because the Trial Trials of Mana was unreal and the visual style looks very similar to me. *00:02* Like I feel like it's doing the cross thing. *00:02* Sometimes those have like weird audio and for some reason going through the audio extractor normalizes it. *00:02* Like like just do Mies. *00:02* Like take out the aspect of playing with your friend and I'm just like everything about these controls feels so wrong. *00:02* It's not Octopath, which is a bit more stout to me Super Nintendo. *00:02* Yeah, like that it's always been separate in Japan, is my understanding, and they started separating them with Persona 4 Golden on the Vita. *00:02* So it's uh that's the switch box. *00:02* And that was the first one I bought since Mario Party 6. *00:02* Yep. *00:02* Like what what happened to like l being able to like literally change and blow up the environment and do all these crazy physics driven things? *00:02* Like, um, you know, I mean many, many times, in fact, I would say most of the times I've played through Link to the Past, I did some of the uh Dark World dungeons in a different *00:02* Yes. *00:02* It'll be great for research. *00:02* That's well they haven't had reason to because like Mario Kart 8 is somehow still like regularly one of the top selling games. *00:02* It's oh my gosh, like it's it's it's pretty darn polished. *00:02* The frame drops aren't everywhere, but it because the TV it's now just a VRR signal, and so if it *00:02* So uh, you know, when when we're going over like uh things that I've purchased, um he's just like in disbelief every time I buy *00:02* I think we we should dive right in with a game that I did not a franchise I did not think would be returning in any capacity. *00:02* Like the closest thing would be Astrobot, I guess, but like like is Astrobot big enough to do something like that? *00:02* I mean I'm not looking at any screenshots right now or anything, but yeah now that you see but I I I agree off the pixel the *00:02* And it's I'm obviously excited. *00:02* I mean look at retro uh uh Metroid Prime remastered that was incredibly well done like yeah I like at first like you know that was coming out like *00:02* And if you do that, you get a secret cutscene at the end. *00:02* Oh wow. *00:02* I did not I skipped paper jam and I did not play the remakes. *00:02* Uh, but I never sat through and played it because I didn't, you know, controller. *00:02* You know, he plays Final Fantasy XIV. *00:02* Okay. *00:02* So I cut my Donkey Kong teeth on Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Color. *00:02* But yeah, this is, you know, this is clearly a pretty big contract for them to be doing that. *00:02* So it's so confusing. *00:02* Yeah, yeah, yeah. *00:02* It's just a commercial for PS5 in secret. *00:02* I mean, uh, you know, the most recent remakes we've got of those is the DS, and they go for the Dragon Quest VII style, which is not *00:02* Fairly certain Conquer Conquer came. *00:02* Although the minigames come from a wider array. *00:02* Yes. *00:02* It's a unique way to introduce kids at an earlier age to uh, you know, *00:02* Um which which actually it is a little weird that you know this is um this is a weird situation because similar to Dragon Quest uh one, two, and three, uh *00:02* I just watched the trailer again. *00:02* Which that's not to say that, you know, Switch, you know, the next game is also 60 frames per second and it looks a lot more impressive. *00:02* Retro Studios does 60 frames per second. *00:02* But the thing is, the reason people don't think it it it goes for what I would call a as you remember it. *00:02* I know, right? *00:02* 0 switcher, which is going through an audio extractor because it like kind of corrects some audio issues like some of the mods I have, like uh PS1 digital, um *00:02* There's a lot of ways you can call it. *00:02* Yeah, you can see this gradient like on their hats. *00:02* And I don't I remember feeling frustrated with the controls, but not knowing quite why. *00:02* Yeah, I can't I I I I think it might have been on the uh the the DF Direct special on this Nintendo Direct where they mention *00:02* Most people would put five in there, but I I really like five, but it's like falls just behind those, I would say. *00:02* Uh he the the the the quality of of kind of some of the side games and remakes uh has been highly variable over the years, I would say *00:02* It's just called Mortal Kombat, but it's the one that's on PS3, Xbox 360. *00:02* I mean, I I you know I probably should get it just because like who who knows, you know, I got into Mortal Kombat this year. *00:02* Is there pictures of that somewhere? *00:02* So that was great. *00:02* Now, then Tears of the Kingdom comes out and basically does uh Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts, but in a Zelda environment. *00:02* But I I will not be picking up the Switch version of this. *00:02* And, you know, I would take this style for, you know, almost any Super Famicom RPG. *00:02* It's just kind of felt like a little bit of a homecoming for Prime because the last game was Federation Force, technically. *00:02* It it it kinda went out on a whimper, right? *00:02* And just wait till you get fiber. *00:02* Uh so yes, this is d don't don't be like me kids. *00:02* Yes. *00:02* I saw this today. *00:02* And and I think it's it's the best uh the best implementation of it thus far. *00:02* It looks so good. *00:02* Like they just they don't feel good like moving your character about in the world and they just they just *00:02* Someone's buying 'em? *00:02* So hopefully Hades 2 doesn't have that type of RNG, at least trophy related, but I digress. *00:02* Maybe they didn't put it out on the shelf, you know, since it's Conquer's Bad Fur Day. *00:02* Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus, God of War 2. *00:02* Blew my mind. *00:02* So I think this is like kind of a similar thing, maybe. *00:02* Is nine nine was the one where Kratos was a DLC character, right? *00:02* Like I I've always, I've never fully forgiven Nintendo for kicking Kimic out of Super *00:02* Abby and I actually the other night uh other night, maybe a month or two ago, uh we put Eloise down to bed and then we came *00:02* I so I had predicted beforehand with my buddy every year we do E3 predictions. *00:02* Um and it's like This is true. *00:02* Um so if you think about it like okay uh *00:02* I've uh I in particular am drawn just by the prospect or idea of playing with Eloise someday when she's *00:02* I am so excited for this. *00:02* They are sprite-based games where you, you know, actually move him about the scene. *00:02* And retro retro is ma they're masters of of optimizing for hardware. *00:02* I mean it's been a very long time. *00:02* Uh I was telling you before the show, you were first on my mind to come talk about the Nintendo Direct. *00:02* I mean he did a video I don't know if you've seen, but he did a video on this. *00:02* End of life, quotes around that. *00:02* Yeah. *00:02* And I was like, well, you know. *00:02* So like I never I never played the Super Nintendo ones growing up. *00:02* This is gonna look like a big thing. *00:02* Phantom Brave the Lost Hero. *00:02* But they do have the option to toggle on the pixel art for the character models. *00:02* His his head does look weirdly big there, doesn't it? *00:02* I I understand it's pretty short, so um I should have continued with it. *00:02* Yeah, and Federation Force was twenty sixteen, so by the time Prime Four comes out it'll been *00:02* The Switch is presumably on its way out the door with its accessor like looming. *00:02* Oh yeah, I was in the movie theater for that. *00:02* Uh but the Lapras and the Gengar like totally made it. *00:02* And it seems to work to my eye. *00:02* God Eater 3. *00:02* They're like, oh, those games were just about the graphics. *00:02* So Well, I mean just like you talking about that Phoenix Wright uh one, two, three, four, five, six, there there there is there is that little bit of a pull of like well *00:02* I love Metal Slug and I am super excited for the Metal Slug Tactics game. *00:02* Um, but yeah, I I would say I'm not I I'm not paying attention until or if that happens. *00:02* I was surprised it looked this good on a Switch. *00:02* Nice. *00:02* It's just a pure gold switch light with the Triforce, you know, around. *00:02* Yes. *00:02* Another megaton from from the this Nintendo Direct. *00:02* No, so this is romancing saga to Revenge of the Seven. *00:02* And so that's what I got it on. *00:02* It's so good. *00:02* It did feel wrong and it definitely looked wrong. *00:02* Yeah. *00:02* I love it. *00:02* Yes. *00:02* You made it. *00:02* I hope so. *00:02* And I look it up and it it absolutely is the same studio. *00:02* And there's like these Metroids like hovering, like seemingly like pets. *00:02* Truly. *00:02* But thank you so much, Try, for coming back and talking about all this with me. *00:02* Was it uh I think. *00:02* I love those games. *00:02* Like to me, like the like the roll jump mechanic is like so core to those games. *00:02* Um, I don't really know a lot about I don't even know really anything about the Punisher character. *00:02* Yeah, I I well, you know, the the name actually see I I don't really know what to expect of this because so I stopped buying Mario Party games after *00:02* Like we've gone full circle from 2D to 3D reInvent and now back to 2D. *00:02* You know what? *00:02* Uh I started to get a lot more a lot more interested. *00:02* That one, it was on some Nintendo Directs. *00:02* There was a Chica game. *00:02* But I had it. *00:02* And so I did this whole journey using the open source save. *00:02* More and more save file discussions. *00:02* And then there's one more thing I wanted, well the two more, I guess. *00:02* I don't know. *00:02* I've I've not finished Lost Odyssey. *00:02* And when this popped up, I was like, oh no, we're going backwards. *00:02* So yes, this I see this as like the best writing of a wrong that that you could ever have on on Switch. *00:02* Yeah, tower defense with beginner for the case. *00:02* So we'll see. *00:02* But actually, I think in a surprising number of cases, I think the graphics *00:02* You know, but I you know, I as a big fan of the developer rare, uh, I just feel like I I should have known this somehow. *00:02* Uh but like Mario Party one and two were huge for you know me and my friends and *00:02* Well, no. *00:02* So I understand and they had to stick with those proportions. *00:02* Um but I I think it'll be a I I I I think it will almost certainly be better than you know the sort of cheapy uh uh version that's already on *00:02* The only major games that year were uh I think Paper Mario was that year, Conquerors Bad for a Day was that year, uh, and then like, I don't know. *00:02* I'm your host, Max Roberts, and I am joined this time by returning guest, Mark Triforce Duddleson. *00:02* And uh yeah, that was August 30th was when that went up. *00:02* So but anyway, yeah, yeah. *00:02* Maybe we will. *00:02* I mean this was this is one of the all-time greats. *00:02* You know, it's kind of got this sort of there's like this weird glow kind of behind them, like doesn't seem to obviously come from anywhere. *00:02* Like you don't you don't announce stuff for the next year generally. *00:02* Same. *00:02* Um for this game specifically because I I I I'd like to do some research into whether that actually fixes *00:02* So That makes some sense. *00:02* Like the the now that we're at the end of Switch's life, all I want to know is how many more years of just dance does Switch one have? *00:02* Like it's uh it's it's always enjoyable year after year to see what dead system still gets just dance. *00:02* Saddle up. *00:02* Woof man. *00:02* If I if I may, uh do you care about narrative spoilers from Federation Force? *00:02* But I absolutely love this. *00:02* Right there as I walk in by the door. *00:03* Yeah, you know, every once in a while every once in a while I'll buy a game like that. *00:03* Well, you can get this for Switch, PS4, and PS5, but not Xbox. *00:03* Like I don't I don't know how meaty of a game it is. *00:03* Uh but yeah, so like there were some weird toads in like the the options menu and the store and stuff like that. *00:03* I don't I don't know how you feel. *00:03* Uh Oh really? *00:03* I I pre-ordered it on PS5. *00:03* No, no, no. *00:03* Um Yeah, I did not play that much of it. *00:03* Like that's the level of demand. *00:03* I was like, oh yeah, that sounds like a really fun thing to do. *00:03* So I can only imagine. *00:03* Uh the the art style was absolutely gorgeous. *00:03* This can I just I think this is my favorite art style like that has come up over the last *00:03* So it's like, well, this makes some sense there. *00:03* I mean I remember uh I I remember buying Conker's Bad Fur Day at Best Buy when I was like *00:03* And that's the problem. *00:03* I'm not sure. *00:03* That halfway point with uh a link between worlds, but like this is this is really um bringing some Tears of the Kingdom style *00:03* Okay. *00:03* Like I thought like the I mean I wouldn't really call them chi chibi, but I the only reason I say chibi is because the website described it. *00:03* Here I'll I'll share this screenshot with you from the video. *00:03* The pixel the I I 100% agree now. *00:03* Yes. *00:03* Yeah, I mean that was like I mean I was like, okay, this is cool. *00:03* I don't I don't know if this is quite that, but like remember that one. *00:03* You'd thought it was an MCU, you know, finale. *00:03* Uh and we've never but yeah, I you know, like I said, I I have not played any of these newer than Bowser's inside story, which is like *00:03* You and me both. *00:03* You know? *00:03* Anyway, yeah. *00:03* Separate app. *00:03* Um, Conquer's a very interesting game. *00:03* It's even got like the weird, you know how how everyone was always *00:03* You know, we have to meet our minimum quota of two farming games. *00:03* I just finished that. *00:03* Whereas this one is just like, okay, yep, we're in an academy again. *00:03* Um it's a very simple style of remake. *00:03* All these wild Zelda games that were pitched is so cool. *00:03* It was a blast to have both of you on. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* I was nervous this was never going to come to consoles. *00:03* Yes, Returnal is is one of those that's got it gets your hooks it gets its hooks in you pretty good. *00:03* It's finally free from the prison of whatever marketing deals are it's been stuck in *00:03* So uh but I am s I am still nervous. *00:03* Uh and it should be easy to to pick up again for sure. *00:03* And I thought there would be a Kirby game, but I guess we got that uh return or which one just was remade? *00:03* I mean you've got to get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Plus ready for Super Switch long. *00:03* And I think what's even more nutty about it is the fact that this is most likely the last *00:03* It'll be co it will be I feel bad for the kid who's *00:03* But then we get uh we get Donkey Kong *00:03* I feel like the the levels just have a flow to them that's just masterfully crafted. *00:03* That was my it was most hyped game for me at the time. *00:03* I think it looks good. *00:03* This is not that. *00:03* Blew my mind. *00:03* That's the black cart. *00:03* And I mean it would work. *00:03* Oh, you know, now that I'm thinking about it, I think I'm misremembering. *00:03* He's on the box. *00:03* Um, the more I think about this game, the more I'm cool with it. *00:03* Yeah, and now that I look at actually they do not to the same extent, but they slightly pixelate the backgrounds. *00:03* I've got uh this is kind of a *00:03* Like sh so again, we're operating with a a Metroid assumption. *00:03* Mario Luigi Brothership. *00:03* I love the sort of uh the the Viking enemy design *00:03* Like that's as far out as we know from Nintendo, because everything else that they talk about is out before then. *00:03* Just all out. *00:03* I I remember buying my first rated M games. *00:03* Yeah, I mean I think for a lot of people this is this is the megaton of the show. *00:03* Um this I'm a little less sure about. *00:03* I think I think that was actually a great generation of Nintendo. *00:03* Very superficially like Breath of the Wild. *00:03* I mean, you know, you look at, you know, you have a moblin to someone or you have a fish enemy to someone. *00:03* It's so locked down. *00:03* I know where you're at. *00:03* I thought. *00:03* But the anything with save preservation, I'm there. *00:03* I hadn't even ordered it yet, so I was really banking on how to get one. *00:03* And so that's actually why one of the reasons I'm interested. *00:03* Then uh they just reminded everyone that Nintendo World Championships NES edition is out in a month. *00:03* Because, you know, yes, he has not made all that much stuff uh in the years since, but um *00:03* They got those characters in it that like are kinda like Mi's, but they're not Miis, and I I don't I don't like it. *00:03* But like it's it's very much like a a you know pretty hardcore old school style of of of game where you know you're focused on *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* Like it's you know on a TV. *00:03* It they've joysticks have always like really wore out my wrist. *00:03* And now we face the same problem with the switch light, which is even less something I need because I only play docked. *00:03* At least at least it's not streaming. *00:03* Um uh it was uh it was good. *00:03* The entire series is here, including investigations to finally translate it officially into English. *00:03* I think that was something that was really they really struggled with on the 3DS, probably largely in part just to the due to the resolution of the screen. *00:03* Okay, so I didn't realize that they that they had done that. *00:03* Maybe I'm wrong. *00:03* Um but yeah, I mean you look at the three DS. *00:03* Uh and so it's like I just like the fact that like the age that I played through well, the first time I didn't finish it, the second *00:03* So that I can have the one, two, three, four, five, six on the spines. *00:03* Like he just I'm like, well, the problem is like it's not always the right kind. *00:03* I've not played any of these since Bowser's Inside story. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* Like it feels like you're shot out of a cannon. *00:03* An Xbox got digital version of Octopath 2. *00:03* Now my understanding is that the problem with Link's Awakening is is like a I think it's a memory *00:03* I think it was like the um the dungeon with the moth boss. *00:03* Exactly. *00:03* Like it what I loved about it was it kind of a lot of people have this perception that it's like actually not that much *00:03* They they I mean it's very faithful to the original, but they they *00:03* I got major aliens vibes. *00:03* Like what do you have to show us next time? *00:03* So now I have two copies of Final Fantasy VII. *00:03* Like this is this is different enough. *00:03* It looks like they're hopping around different islands that may or may not be *00:03* Like Miis are classic. *00:03* He's got this incredible David Wise soundtrack. *00:03* I love Luigi's Mansion 3. *00:03* I was I couldn't could not believe it. *00:03* They called it a tower defense game. *00:03* But yeah, it did look really good. *00:03* Um, you know, I bought them probably not a bad spot to stop. *00:03* So everyone get together for a hoot and annie. *00:03* I I I I I dressed up as Kamuk the year that Yoshi's Island came out for how *00:03* And we quickly remembered how hard the computer is on normal. *00:03* Um, I would love to see this type of puzzle-solving freedom in a dungeon setting and what that does to that. *00:03* I just kind of thought it would be part of Super Switch crossover type title, a la Breath of the Wild, a la Twilight. *00:03* Metroid Prime 4 beyond. *00:03* So it is kind of like Tri just said about their own work, not as fast as they used to be. *00:03* Oh yeah, okay. *00:03* Because I want to capture that in 4K. *00:03* And that is a very beloved game. *00:03* And I uh they did something else that was kind of a a mixed reception, uh, and I'm drawing a blank on what it was. *00:03* Was it the House of the Dead remake? *00:03* But yeah, you know, the uh the the Live Alive producer did drop like a mention at some point, like, hey, if if this does well, I'd really like to make a sequel to Live *00:03* It's free. *00:03* Neither am I. *00:03* Um so even though it looks like those old like Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, stuff like that, which those were kind of the last ones I played. *00:03* That was um next level game or whoever did Luigi's Mansion 2 and stuff. *00:03* Fake E3. *00:03* Yes, um Marvelous. *00:03* And then Dragon Quest VI comes out, and then Dragon Quest III remake looks very it looks gorgeous on Super Famicom. *00:03* But I play a lot of games with that Super Nintendo controller regardless. *00:03* Someone. *00:03* Well, I mean, I I I'm not rich because I bought it expensive. *00:03* We'll obviously find out in three months. *00:03* It just seemed overly complicated. *00:03* I'm the same. *00:03* Like I can't Yeah it something ab something about like some of the character designs that these guys do, like I like and some of them I'm just like, what *00:03* Um I I I I think it looks uh *00:03* And that's how they close the show, man. *00:03* And then doing the thing where you're like converting it and using it on a wee wear, you know, bringing it digitally or *00:03* And I've wanted the original one since it came out because it was only physical in Japan for um and then the new ones just came out not terribly long ago. *00:03* Uh uh, you know, Jeff Fest or whatever you want to call it. *00:03* Yeah. *00:03* And so I'm torn on what platform to get it. *00:03* Like I'm not I'm not getting the loop here. *00:03* Free I free idea Nintendo in retro. *00:03* I believe the PS4 one is more like correctly portioned in layout. *00:03* I picked it up in a Black Friday sale. *00:03* Oh, the the I mean I don't want to spoil anything. *00:03* I I just I I s I actually started it right before I took my trip to Germany earlier this year. *00:03* I'm interested but like not jumping up and down for it. *00:03* It's like they are masters of this. *00:03* I mean, you know, if you're going for like a pure like consumer CRT look, you know, the way I see it, you know, there's kind of two very valid *00:04* Yes. *00:04* And, you know, usually the writing was very funny, but I I was just I was very tired of how frequently the game was interrupted *00:04* We can Yeah. *00:04* And uh when Don Kong Country Returns was coming out, you know, obviously Retro Studios, I mean, very talented *00:04* I was hoping for the memes that there would be a funky mode added so we can get funky mode slapped on the box again, but that did not happen *00:04* Keep the kids away. *00:04* He b think like Daredevil but he kills. *00:04* Horizon and Lego? *00:04* Um Yeah, it looks should I say meow, I guess. *00:04* The missing translated ace attorney game. *00:04* Um and I think that's okay because I think they've come up with a very clean and simple style that uh *00:04* Like I c that's like kind of ballsy in a way that even though I haven't played it, like I'm not mad about it. *00:04* That was a really good year. *00:04* Um I don't know, man. *00:04* Like I well I think that I might have seen like a reprint of that recently, but a couple of months ago people were like, oh, that game's starting to get hard to find. *00:04* I like when that stuff's not lost. *00:04* Well I so I I I did some digging and I I didn't realize that Phantom Bray like this is like *00:04* It's kinda similar to how like some uh Square Enix games use uh Final Fantasy *00:04* Yeah, it's I've I agree with you in that sense, but I think *00:04* Because there are toads out the wazoo in that game. *00:04* And three three is the one that I always think of as being expensive. *00:04* Yeah, but regardless, um uh I I I am pondering since I've got that OLED and I don't really wanna *00:04* I mean, the game looks incredible. *00:04* And then you you have, you know, Nintendo do something like Breath of the Wild on on the Switch, which is very *00:04* I d it reminds me it gives me some *00:04* We've got Marvel vs. *00:04* And I was like, Oh I'll have to I'll have to experiment with this. *00:04* So I had like sort of positive feelings about then I tried to play the game on Switch on my own. *00:04* I believe Interest. *00:04* Yeah, I mean I I think Luigi's Mansion 3 is one of the best games on Switch. *00:04* And there's a couple of layers here to this. *00:04* I th serious I I was like this th I don't believe anyone's beaten this game. *00:04* I want I I feel like it would match. *00:04* Um I think it's cute. *00:04* But yeah, I mean, I I feel like that there's nothing they could do with this game that would top the quality of *00:04* Detective Code Rain? *00:04* It's almost been a dec it's almost a decade since Federation. *00:04* Like, I mean, I mean, you remember that one year s of Sony E3 that was like *00:04* I don't know. *00:04* You'll be out. *00:04* Um, you know, they have much blurrier output. *00:04* Maybe I'm maybe I'm just uh I'm it's a placebo effect. *00:04* You know, like those keeps on the switch. *00:04* It's very confusing because Octopath 1 got an Xbox. *00:04* But now with Dragon Quest, I'm like, well, what do I do? *00:04* Now I'm regretting not getting the anniversary collection on PlayStation so I could have *00:04* Oh my goodness. *00:04* I saw a picture online of, you know, the the s the mature 17 plus *00:04* But yeah, I mean I'm I'm I'm happy for the people who are into Capcom fighting games, which I think is most people. *00:04* I mean some people were saying like this could never happen and here it is. *00:04* It's kind of a it's it it really goes for the nostalgia play. *00:04* Oh okay for the first time in a long time and I used the Tink with those profiles to like *00:04* Um, but it was really fun. *00:04* I'm not the pickiest person in the world about that, but the way that it manifests in that game in particular is especially infusing *00:04* Yeah. *00:04* And then in the trailer around the 25 second mark, uh they show off pixel and chibi. *00:04* Um something called the Hundred Line, Last Defense Academy. *00:04* I I I think so. *00:04* In the club. *00:04* Yes, yes. *00:04* So I mean, so you've already got like 16 *00:04* Perfect dark. *00:04* So it it makes sense that they're releasing them in *00:04* There was a demo on Steam. *00:04* So it's kind of eased me into being a little bit more interested in that kind of thing. *00:04* And then hopefully that character decides to progress the conversation of their relationship forward. *00:04* I was like, I'll take these please. *00:04* So I'm I am interested, but I'll be looking for a PS4 version. *00:04* Although I think there was maybe a a a reference to something in like an Iwada asks her. *00:04* You know, they're not just like a Goomba. *00:04* I think they might have like replaced them with like a shy guy and kamek or something. *00:04* You know, I'm just gonna wait for for Switch 2. *00:04* And so Zelda can basically copy any item, any, with quotes around that, any item in the environment, and then *00:04* So I guess it like now that I think about it in that context, it's maybe less *00:04* We are here to talk about the Nintendo Direct from E E3. *00:04* Last year? *00:04* I'll tell you what, um fiber fi fiber internet is coming to my neighborhood soon and I am very worried about *00:04* It's just like here. *00:04* It's uh so yeah, it was a good reminder. *00:04* Some Amunus DLC and then Farm Farm. *00:04* Um Tropical Freeze, I think, is like an aesthetically perfect. *00:04* Um but for Final Fantasy VI, like everyone's like, this is, you know, the game. *00:04* Yeah, yep, yep. *00:04* I think it was Manhunt. *00:04* And uh he was like, before he handed it to me, he's like. *00:04* It is shockingly different. *00:04* I'm super casual with it. *00:04* So I I I'm actually thinking about so I I when Tears of the Kingdom came out, I could not resist *00:04* Exactly. *00:04* I'd love to see Leighton vs. *00:04* But yeah, like as soon as this trailer started, though, like you look at that main character and the way his eyes look, and it's like, this is 100% the Dangan Rappo guys. *00:04* Those aren't like, yeah, like I mean, like Paper Mario and Conquer were like the big ones. *00:04* Sorry to sorry to interrupt, but I I I I just got excited because I'd actually been using it recently myself. *00:04* I have I have such thoughts as well. *00:04* If you have this stuff, either the f the real physical versions or like a rare replay in the sense of perfect dark or uh a flash cart, like there's a *00:04* I can't believe I never knew this. *00:04* But they're good. *00:04* I I have tried to find pictures of it and uh and failed, but *00:04* Oh. *00:04* I'm sure there will be I'm sure there will be some sort of like s *00:04* I've never played Federation Force. *00:04* I mean, I I do think Metroid Prime 4 and *00:04* Oh my gosh. *00:04* Yes. *00:04* It's like, no, no, no, no. *00:04* It was the one I was just like, I don't know how to do this, so I'm just gonna do it type thing. *00:04* Yeah. *00:04* Looking, going down, looking at the list. *00:04* Wow, you know, I I feel like seeing those characters in *00:04* No, no. *00:04* Like some Kirby game. *00:04* It like it. *00:04* He's on the box. *00:04* movie and the and in the game and the movie itself was was Kimic. *00:04* But yeah, like I'll I like, you know, so you had that flexibility in a lot of the older games *00:04* When you're in the courtroom, you know, you've got like, you know, characters that fill up most of the screen and they're you know highly detailed and animated. *00:04* It's 60 frames per second here. *00:04* I I've only played through Corruption one time and it was back when it came out in 2007. *00:04* You remember when they did those movie theaters you go watch E3 at the movie theater? *00:04* You teased a little bit, some black. *00:04* Who could say? *00:04* You know, I can barely remember what even happened in it. *00:04* Yeah, oh I I mean the the artwork was immediately recognizable. *00:04* So I could have played this game, but still it's just like that's *00:04* Cooking simulator. *00:04* But I did I did this exact thing we're talking about, which is I got Octopath on Switch when it came out. *00:04* If I can use the Super Nintendo controller, if I can use one of the Sega controllers for a game where it would be like appropriate to do so. *00:04* I think Conquer was last. *00:04* I'm a D-pad man. *00:04* And uh I was like, yes, Camek, I freaking love Kamek. *00:04* Oh, the first time. *00:04* Yeah. *00:04* Like some of the characters like have this weird like *00:04* We see it and I won't lie, try. *00:04* There's just really cool history and I'm glad that it's been able to be brought to light, especially since *00:04* So whatever the successor is here is close and assumptions are flying around, you know, that it could be a spring release like the switch was *00:04* Maybe it's not happening anymore. *00:04* And I got a carby for that as well, the new carbies. *00:04* I think the highlight of summer video game news for sure for me. *00:04* It's it's it's been just so core to everything I like and uh *00:04* I'm planning to get a PS5 copy. *00:04* You know, I I bought that uh that Square Enix uh like farming and combat game. *00:04* And I think it also goes to just show kind of the in a lot of ways the blandness of of the design of that game. *00:04* But uh Hades on PS5, that game was like that turned into that *00:04* I'm pretty sure I'm I'm positive. *00:04* Well hey hey I'll g I'll give you I'll give you a little spoiler for my next episode. *00:04* Every object, every enemy in the game is going to have like these *00:04* Same. *00:04* Leighton versus ride is a non-switch. *00:04* Ah. *00:04* For sure. *00:04* That's how close we are. *00:04* That came out in 2017, so like it's right right there with the switch. *00:04* Yeah, there's a lot of like uh elect electricity sort of themed enemies. *00:04* And, you know, later I got like the Switch version for, you know, a *00:04* Yeah, yeah. *00:04* It's definitely the highest detail HD2 they've done and not just in terms of the characters, but also *00:04* Someone justifies it. *00:04* Like I I couldn't multiplayer thing. *00:04* But also it was kind of like, oh, here's our Zelda and Metroid moments. *00:04* She'll get a switch light and echoes of wisdom and I'll leave them in a glass box until her little grubby hands know how to handle it. *00:04* Like Zelda is go here, collect three things, unlock more temples, get the th build the sword, beat the *00:04* I I always waited to do that one until I got some other *00:04* But the the Ace Attorney investigations games where you play *00:04* Was it last year? *00:04* So we gotta talk like a little bit. *00:04* Sure. *00:04* You know, it's okay if a game feels a little different from one to the other, but for some reason these Retro Studios Donkey Kong Country games, I cannot adapt. *00:04* This was something I have no idea about. *00:04* I'm not familiar now. *00:04* Oh my gosh. *00:04* I started that one, but I never finished it. *00:04* Okay. *00:04* It just it looks like it's for people who know the characters, you know? *00:04* So if I can if I can get that uh on PlayStation *00:04* One and two are much smaller games, much uh simpler in terms of your your party makeup and and and the flexibility *00:04* Like those feel like the the ones, right? *00:04* Mietopia. *00:04* But uh Yeah, so like I I kind of gotten into that. *00:04* After Breath of the Wild was Link's Awakening, so like a 3D to a two D. *00:04* I'm absolutely thrilled. *00:04* Like songs. *00:04* Um I think PS3, I can't remember. *00:04* Um I I I do think what we saw was switch. *00:04* But prime prime for beyond, they gave us a date of 2025. *00:04* It's all E3 in my heart forever. *00:05* Oh yeah. *00:05* Like it kind of gets like a little bluer towards the back and it's just *00:05* You know, I I always felt bad about not really liking these games because Alpha Dream was *00:05* Yeah, I didn't I didn't really pay that much attention to it because it's like, well, I mean I'm *00:05* I think that's cool. *00:05* Pokes its head up. *00:05* Oh, they did Masamura's rebirth on the Vita. *00:05* Are you I didn't play the first one, but I hear good things. *00:05* I mean it was not there was there's a game later that looks pretty *00:05* It's finally free. *00:05* Um the thing that appeals to me about this though is it seems like Camek hosts the games and Camek *00:05* I just this made sense to me. *00:05* I want to keep it stock ideally. *00:05* Like it's a wholly unique system, and I can't wait to dig into it. *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* But this um to me this is the whole deal. *00:05* Alright, we're here, baby. *00:05* And then I so I learned uh how to convert them to the open the open the open so the open source save file thing. *00:05* Um, but you know, my heart is with Nintendo, you know. *00:05* It was on a Christmas list, and so I have the PS5 version back there. *00:05* Why not? *00:05* The Legend of Zelda! *00:05* Like, just let me hit a moblin, you know, not just a rock. *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* Yeah, I'm absolutely thrilled. *00:05* So there's a mission in Federation Force that where you are sent to go get a Metroid Egg. *00:05* Which is a game no one played. *00:05* Oh my goodness. *00:05* So that so that feeds uh you know that is fed by a five input switcher and then goes into one of the other switch *00:05* I mean I it it looked like a a um *00:05* Right. *00:05* I think the, you know, the just the purity of mechanics and the *00:05* Tropical Freeze, I played in co-op. *00:05* Yes, yes. *00:05* That I just learned that the other day when I was on the Nintendo website and it was there and it's like. *00:05* Goodness to goodness. *00:05* Mm-hmm, I mean the industry has had so much trouble with, you know, all these, you know *00:05* I mean I've thought that for a long time. *00:05* It's that Sash kind of moment. *00:05* Like the craziest part about it. *00:05* I thought they just handed it to people like uh they have a kid. *00:05* Totally like a Metroidvania sci-fi looking thing. *00:05* Yeah, they fit. *00:05* And then it comes out and I'm like, this plays nothing like the Super Nintendo *00:05* Right. *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* And we had never played Conquer, so we played on the Xbox. *00:05* It appears to be each player uses a single Joy-Con in the horizontal. *00:05* And I was very happy that the first character to have a line *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* It has issues. *00:05* But as I've thought about it more and more *00:05* Absolutely the same. *00:05* Like, trust us, we'll do good research with a Metroid Egg. *00:05* But stylus for sure. *00:05* Like I kinda thought I could see the switch going out. *00:05* I mean there's there there there's like so much to talk about with like *00:05* So that was this whole web of connecting things. *00:05* Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade for the PS5 for $60. *00:05* Bondobu Sakaguchi. *00:05* I don't know. *00:05* And can you is it just me? *00:05* Who knows? *00:05* It looks like it uses the sprites from the original Neo Geo. *00:05* Like I just bought a bunch of God of War. *00:05* The the one game on here that would be of interest to me personally might be The Punisher, because that's *00:05* Like it's really good. *00:05* I could not like I was like I I got a switch at launch and I'm like, look, I mostly play docked. *00:05* That's actually really funny. *00:05* It's not full-blown pixel art. *00:05* Uh hold hold on a second. *00:05* People would probably be spec expecting something a little more out of that or like *00:05* I mean you've got Mario. *00:05* Um, you know, so 'cause I was having some frustration you know, it's it's it's funny, you know, my uh my my dad helps me keep track of *00:05* Who could say? *00:05* I love partners. *00:05* I hate this game. *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* Oh my gosh, that uh oof. *00:05* It looked like it played great on Switch. *00:05* I especially love how Zelda finally gets her own game and she doesn't, she's not just Link. *00:05* Like who who ever dreamed up that combination? *00:05* It did. *00:05* Talented studio, but but kind of a game founded on a *00:05* I mean, yeah, I I cannot think of any system that has wine been wound down in this way. *00:05* I can't remember if it was last year or it was because you were your Tink video hadn't come out. *00:05* I got part of that second wave was when I could afford one. *00:05* So we did uh I'm actually so I've been using I use the 4K all the time. *00:05* But Octopath just did to PlayStation. *00:05* So um I I I think it's a great game. *00:05* I think it could be so. *00:05* Yeah, it yeah, yeah. *00:05* And then I've expanded that to give it access to *00:05* That's nuts. *00:05* It's definitely kind of stayed with me. *00:05* I wanted to just give them the nod of they do change the art style and they give these chibi characters *00:05* Um like a sampling. *00:05* Like truly high. *00:05* Um This is I it makes me also wonder *00:05* So hopefully you will enjoy that. *00:05* Oh. *00:05* Like there's no ch there's no change in the game if they just want to know *00:05* Uh I'm quite interested. *00:05* It's unbelievable. *00:05* I was watching the trailer, you know, here off to the side, and it is *00:05* Every time a Mortal Kombat comes out, I'm like, that looks awesome. *00:05* I'm a D-pad man. *00:05* But it is look it does look nice. *00:05* I just haven't played it yet. *00:05* Yeah. *00:05* Ace Attorney come back. *00:05* I don't but then there was also um what was it? *00:05* I mean this is I mean this is I mean maybe not of the level of like the crazy uh *00:05* Like Metro Prime 4, I think, had uh you know just twenty twenty twenty twenty-five, yeah. *00:05* They'll at least look very good. *00:05* Next up, everyone's favorite game from the direct. *00:05* Like everyone talks about how much they hate them. *00:05* So like tower defense, like I don't hate tower defense, but it's like not *00:05* If it did get a physical copy, I probably couldn't resist. *00:05* Scoop. *00:05* I've not actually played any of these games. *00:05* Why why am I buying these? *00:05* So that was that was my thought. *00:05* Diz you buckle up, dude. *00:05* It's it's definitely like it's it's *00:05* You know, I I I I think that they they deserve something, you know, really flashy. *00:05* You'd think everyone it's kinda like the it's like Mar it's like Nintendo's Grand Theft Auto Five. *00:05* And so I'm happy to have you back. *00:05* That's what that two-chip mod does. *00:05* I mean it you know, sometimes it takes me days or like I'll work on it for like two days and then uh *00:05* It's out this year. *00:05* Seems to be good buds with Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida. *00:05* And it's just like I get so angry every time I do that because I'm like, I am overshooting where I am *00:05* It's it's pretty smart. *00:05* I prefer my Luigi's Mansion games on the TV. *00:05* Game Boy to Game Boy color completely different. *00:05* But uh but anyway, um *00:05* And guess what? *00:05* It looks very similar, at least, for sure. *00:05* So I'm I'm curious just from a exploration perspective, what that'll be like. *00:05* So they let you have a little more freedom with your exploration. *00:05* And then just dance to them. *00:05* It just it feels like it feels like a a a love letter and just one of the best. *00:05* I think this might be the longest episode in the history of my show. *00:05* So evidently they have been banking software for Switch 2. *00:05* And then then, you know, it happened. *00:05* I just started it like a couple weeks ago. *00:05* Um my heart will always belong to it. *00:05* I mean I wasn't there but you know everyone you felt like you were there because of *00:05* Um Yeah, so I don't know. *00:05* There's there's enough potential for this to uh do something different that I I'm I'm I'm ready to believe again. *00:05* Like I feel like we're in a really good *00:05* Those games are so freaking good. *00:05* You know? *00:05* I th I really do because I just did for our my other ship chapter select, we did a banjo Kazooie season that *00:05* Like it it the broad strokes are the same, but the *00:05* I have that box. *00:05* So Mario Party is like super casual in my house. *00:05* Like I don't have a problem with it, but who was asking for it? *00:05* Yeah, at least two farming games. *00:05* It does translate so well. *00:05* And they did the same thing with Switch, aka NX. *00:05* It was awesome. *00:05* And you know that that that's kind of how I treat *00:05* Yeah the S and E S uh you know so called two chip bypass *00:05* They shot photographs of them. *00:05* I need to uh restart it. *00:05* And I think the last story on the week. *00:05* Did they replace those they may have replaced those toads with other characters now that *00:05* Yeah, something like that. *00:05* So she's too young, like, to play any of this. *00:05* It's like what Sony property do you turn into Lego at this point? *00:05* Oh my gosh. *00:05* I've got on PS5 and I'm happy with that. *00:05* I just finished it right before Tears of the Kingdom. *00:05* But now yeah, now that you're showing me I'm not a fan. *00:05* The pixel version is the way to go. *00:05* Yeah, but then there's also World's End Club, which I'm pretty sure is connected to those people. *00:05* Which I like a lot. *00:05* I'd I I would be okay with that. *00:05* It's gonna be 60 frames per second on it, which it might not be 100%. *00:05* So I think we said it at the top that this direct really is one of the greats. *00:05* Capcom. *00:05* Oh my oh my gosh. *00:05* I think it might have been the House of Dead. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* They did mention that there's going to be some throwback levels. *00:06* Well Yeah, it it started f the signs of my Majors Matter *00:06* That that one, like, it's got a you know, it's got a similar art style. *00:06* I like Danganronpa one a lot. *00:06* But uh, you know, and NES had had you know some of the NES's best games. *00:06* And you know, but I haven't. *00:06* It's like, oh, this just I get all the Mario Kart tracks and whatever I can play N61 *00:06* Yeah th there's one where like the juggernaut has like *00:06* So maybe I should just get it. *00:06* Alright, and then next is I think the biggest surprise. *00:06* Initially, I was upset with this, not in the radical like *00:06* But I I under I understand why though, because why they design why they designed the original character *00:06* They she scanned uh she scanned a dead space pirate, she shot a few of 'em, morph ball going into that third person. *00:06* You guys did this really cool multi-game compilation video. *00:06* It is uh I love I loved how they said uh you know *00:06* I I I believed, but I was nervous. *00:06* I find that extremely ironic. *00:06* Uh I think they do at least one of those Ruin. *00:06* Um but I just remember being so pumped for Donkey Kong. *00:06* Jungle Beat 2 uh *00:06* It look and oh man, I'm so glad there's gonna be a PS5 version. *00:06* If it just feels better using, you know, the real thing or the official the officially stamped thing. *00:06* So, you know, friendly reminder. *00:06* Like it it has like the vibe of those games, but I th I'm pretty sure it's a different developer. *00:06* So it makes playing that game the intended way much, much easier. *00:06* It does. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* And speaking of which that's the trend of the show *00:06* And then we get the uh the closer, the one more thing. *00:06* And I'm fine with that. *00:06* I definitely want to pre-order a physical copy of this, but uh *00:06* Um And then these guys go and then like Dragon Quest Zelda a new Zelda game Mario and Luigi like *00:06* It's coming soon. *00:06* And you I had to go from the N64 to the Game Boy. *00:06* And then the last thing, I don't I don't think you saw this. *00:06* Yeah, so uh y y y you know, go we when you go into the year thinking like, oh, what's Nintendo even got? *00:06* And uh you know it is I I love Mario games in general. *00:06* Partners in Time is my favorite, so I was a little hurt. *00:06* Yeah, it reminds me, I mean it's clearly in the vein of NES Remix one and two. *00:06* You know, I I've I've not played I mean I I'm pretty sure I've heard it's a good game, but I've not played it on the game. *00:06* Yes. *00:06* And then I I've not played much of that one. *00:06* Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk. *00:06* It is so good. *00:06* I think in July. *00:06* Okay. *00:06* And then for some reason I got it on PS5. *00:06* I can't remember what it was. *00:06* Bring them back. *00:06* And then all of a sudden Link falls into a dark portal, shoots an arrow, Zelda's crystal cracks. *00:06* And like she like I think she like sends out like another fish to like attack *00:06* Yep. *00:06* I mean the three D S I feel like kind of I think the three D S went on too long. *00:06* Um. *00:06* I remember like saving up and buying, because it was kind of around that time where I *00:06* Yes. *00:06* I mean, you know, I I will say the the th when there's a multi-platform choice, the thing that draws me to switch is the controller *00:06* It was very silly. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* It looks like Breath of the Wild, but it's it's not Breath of the Wild. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* And uh, you know, I I've not played a lot of the saga games. *00:06* I in fact I might I I it might even be based on some movie *00:06* So I feel like to have this caliber of games *00:06* And then, you know, Metroid Prime 4, I mean, obviously we knew it was coming, but it just *00:06* And then I had uh *00:06* Uh but I am I am partial to that game. *00:06* That would be cool. *00:06* I've like I haven't met him. *00:06* Because yeah. *00:06* With a very interesting history. *00:06* I mean Cory's Corey's kids *00:06* It's it it's interesting. *00:06* So I'm not just gonna throw her into the PS5, but um, you know, let's cut our teeth on some A-bit stuff. *00:06* Let me turn around and look at my shelf here, because I'm pretty sure I have it. *00:06* But I was like, well, if we're going to use the cartridge, you know, that that game only has two saves on it, and I don't want to delete my save *00:06* Or a couple of videos actually. *00:06* And so in doing that, I noticed on my Pokemon Stadium cartridge. *00:06* But then when Donkey Kong Country Returns was announced for the Wii, I was *00:06* This should just be either a new Donkey Kong country, which isn't realistic, at least from retro, because they are *00:06* So I did of course get Octopath 2. *00:06* Um I'm the same way. *00:06* Like uh some friends of mine convinced me to start streaming the Mortal Kombat games begin *00:06* So that this is a big, big deal for some people if *00:06* I mean that that might be that might be my favorite Mario Party level *00:06* I love that. *00:06* It makes me think like, oh, there there could be something interesting going on uh going on here. *00:06* So there is a there is a physical copy in English of every ace attorney game once this comes out. *00:06* Oh my gosh, that last case. *00:06* Let's go. *00:06* And it it it holds. *00:06* Yeah, okay. *00:06* You know, some people like it, but you know, I think if you're upscaling it, it's not *00:06* Oh wow. *00:06* Oh, it's so much fun. *00:06* Oh, this is this is a megaton for me. *00:06* Then uh this game looked *00:06* But I love it. *00:06* Yeah, I mean j it's it's in my top three to four of the series for sure. *00:06* It's kind of interesting because there's like Super Famicom remakes of one and two that were made uh after Dragon Quest V *00:06* They just like spawn inside GameStops and buy them. *00:06* But then they announce Nintendo 64 Nintendo Switch Online. *00:06* It's like, but dude, it's an English and there's a physical con *00:06* So well that was something I was super worried about because I didn't think they looked all that great on 3DS. *00:06* You know, for many years Nintendo has has been *00:06* I don't know. *00:06* You know, I I'm pretty sure I did that too. *00:06* I'm uh I'm I'm looking at uh Black Cart Game Boy games and comparing the *00:06* Speaking of commercial for PlayStation. *00:06* I just, you know, for like a game of Pac-Man. *00:06* And I'm like, I'm like, wait. *00:06* The minigames come from. *00:06* Because I did the same thing when 3DS came out. *00:06* Unfortunately, Majora's Mask was not one of them. *00:06* I'm so excited. *00:06* Apparently Abby, she's a she's a middle school teacher. *00:06* The the last one I was on was there was there was a pretty major reveal. *00:06* It's like, this would be a kind of a cool idea for a game. *00:06* I think that's most video stuff. *00:06* Um because I have like Cory could Cory could talk to you a whole stream about or a whole whole podcast about this subject, by the way. *00:06* So it kind of is like I have not yeah, I've not experimented with that. *00:06* Like, you know, I might need to capture from *00:06* Yes, creator of Final Fantasy, producer *00:06* I mean, I I've actually not played too far into it, but *00:06* That's why we've never met anyone who likes them. *00:06* It looked like some right garbage though, I'll say that. *00:06* Regardless, though, they really go hard for that nostalgia. *00:06* Yep. *00:06* I like I they've never done like a original Zone *00:06* Now you're not building a car or whatever, but you're summoning and connecting objects from all over the world. *00:06* They haven't it hasn't happened. *00:06* It was good. *00:06* Uh this is oh my gosh, this is right up there. *00:06* I mean, has any system gone out on this? *00:06* Everyone is here. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* Uh you know, s just sort of really sketchy lines and uh limited use of color. *00:06* I have I have the first one on PS5, but I *00:06* So it's cool that the whole trilogy is gonna be on there and it is cool that, you know, three does come first. *00:06* Yeah I sold really well. *00:06* Yes. *00:06* Marvel vs. *00:06* Um the greatest thing about this particular *00:06* Um and so when I you know the GameCube years were kind of my college years *00:06* But I I still don't know if this is a game for me. *00:06* So this pops up, and I'm like, ooh, maybe this is the Oracle game. *00:06* However, because you did record you did have to have this dungeon item *00:06* It was 60 or at least targeted 60 on PS4, didn't hit it, but I played on PS5 and it's totally fine. *00:06* I think this is either going to be a *00:06* I mean Super Nintendo did have a a pretty pretty pretty darn good last year. *00:06* I'm like, oh we're only we're like really far down and we're only like an hour and fifteen minutes in. *00:06* It's a good holiday chunk. *00:06* Um I don't know if I'd say uh Oh live alive. *00:06* Um, and uh it looks great, it sounds great. *00:06* What's going on there, man? *00:06* The Legend of Zelda. *00:06* And so she uses this to fight and do things. *00:06* Like they don't even game about. *00:06* So I am so the website does describe it as chibi. *00:06* Uh and they like they finally like followed up on it. *00:06* That was Shenmu, Final Fantasy VII. *00:06* I I *00:06* But I took everything out and completely rewired everything and optimized it. *00:06* What a name. *00:06* It is for Marvelous Games. *00:06* So they follow up a game that you are *00:06* The system that got the first game, PlayStation never got Octopath 1. *00:06* But also I bought Animal Crossing City. *00:06* Uh and I I actually especially nine like in terms of gameplay I I actually like kind of *00:06* You know, there's there's some things that have never existed before. *00:06* It's one of those later this year, uh, October, October 17th. *00:06* Um it's not but you know, maybe the last *00:06* This seems to be *00:06* It doesn't seem that bad to me. *00:06* Yeah. *00:06* So they they do good stuff. *00:06* And that secret cutscene at the end is *00:06* You're not missing much. *00:06* So I'm I'm happy about that. *00:06* I mean, assuming assuming they make a sequel to Forgotten Land in that same gameplay style, like that's gonna be a Switch 2 title and *00:06* So yeah. *00:07* Like it's just I don't know. *00:07* Um there's Fairy Tale 2 from Koei Tecmo. *00:07* The mechanics still felt kind of off to me. *00:07* So this is I I always thought this was a Nintendo property, but it apparently is not. *00:07* Like what a great idea, I think. *00:07* What? *00:07* I'm I love Metroid Prime. *00:07* So, you know, I love Prime. *00:07* Like, seriously. *00:07* Yeah, I I agree with that. *00:07* Ace Aturney! *00:07* I can't uncall it that. *00:07* It's so I gotta say. *00:07* It I'm I'm stoked. *00:07* So I'm not sure if you think PS5's the way to go? *00:07* Uh *00:07* I just was like, who how did Funko Pops get so *00:07* They were um *00:07* And I loved it. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* I would hope that they've been able to polish it out though. *00:07* Like like almost not at all the same. *00:07* Um But please don't play it on the Switch, whatever you do. *00:07* And I'm just like, thank you. *00:07* But then playing Great Ace Attorney on Switch on my TV. *00:07* I I looked up the platforms for this and all I could find was switch and *00:07* And clearly you just look at Tropical Freeze on Switch, Metroid Prime Remaster *00:07* You know, I mentioned earlier I bought Conquerors Bad Furday. *00:07* So that was episode 30, born to test this stuff. *00:07* That save data is gone. *00:07* And th this is, you know, in terms of the directs, I mean *00:07* It it felt like the game was constantly being interrupted by *00:07* Oh, really? *00:07* I I truly did love it. *00:07* Yeah, I uh I did that with Castle *00:07* Um Yeah. *00:07* You know, unfortunately, my local friends, Mario Party. *00:07* And then I just play their copy. *00:07* That's a great tradition. *00:07* It took a little while to grow on me actually. *00:07* It's it's got it's got a cool a cool vibe to it. *00:07* I the one thing besides the fact that they actually translated the sequel. *00:07* You've seen series. *00:07* Yeah, I mean, you know, I obviously these like some of these might be games like, you know, there were games like *00:07* I think this direct crack. *00:07* So who needs the PS4, PS5 version? *00:07* First of all, just the setup of Legend of Zelda, Link to the Past, Four Swords for Game Boy Advance, and then Zero *00:07* But like I asked the guy like, hey, do you do you have I don't see Conquer's Bad Fur Day on the shelf? *00:07* Maybe *00:07* I believe that's a thing that has happened on occasion. *00:07* I mean they they kind of intimidate me because I think like *00:07* Um *00:07* But then that Tears of the Kingdom OLED comes about, and I'm like, I need *00:07* This is *00:07* Yeah, what was I have it? *00:07* I I like the uh I kind of like the the logo like that kind of like black hole *00:07* Exactly. *00:07* And and really who played Hunters if you I mean a lot of people did, but like that's and *00:07* I mean it's so much so that Nintendo even said when they announced the direct, there will be no news on the Switch success. *00:07* That will Finally. *00:07* I don't get it. *00:07* Uh they they tend to be pretty good keeping stuff under their under their hat. *00:07* Yeah, so I mean you're for the first time like you're playing this series with and I like the art I like that art style that *00:07* Uh I think most people did because Alpha Dream went bankrupt in 2019, uh, which is unfortunate. *00:07* Maybe like later on the three DS games, like the artwork kinda got the in-game art maybe got a little more aligned. *00:07* It's unbelievable. *00:07* So so so yeah, I mean this was you know even though this is a series that I kind of wrote *00:07* I think this one was the one that reminded me of Spectrobes. *00:07* It's Forever Entertainment. *00:07* I mean, *00:07* Yeah, it's I I I wrote in my notes I said Octopath Traveler walked so this *00:07* Uh Perfect Dark was my first *00:07* Um I you know I I didn't actually own uh Conquer Pocket Tales. *00:07* So like I I I you know I just thought the cowboy outfits were *00:07* And it it is that it's out in three months that I just cannot *00:07* Pets like loyal to him, yes. *00:07* Like like almost like *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* Um *00:07* But *00:07* But yeah, I used that episode to kind of learn more about the analog side. *00:07* Oh no. *00:07* And I'm like, well that that's just a Friday night. *00:07* I I could have had a controller and played it on the screen. *00:07* Like it though those games are very well made in my opinion. *00:07* Yes. *00:07* Um, PlayStation didn't get it. *00:07* Um Metal Slug Attack reloaded *00:07* So I'm happy to see all that. *00:07* I mean I bought that game when it was new. *00:07* Because it that one I don't think ever was cheap. *00:07* Um *00:07* But I am contemplating overclocking uh hacking and overclocking the *00:07* So they probably were like, get rid of the Wii U cruft here. *00:07* And I'm thr I'm now thrilled with this. *00:07* I I think that the the 3D games that *00:07* But it doesn't matter because I'm buying it on PS5. *00:07* I thought the switch would go out with that. *00:07* So uh I was like I would like to eventually move that upstairs. *00:07* Oh, they did Damon X Mocina to it. *00:07* Yeah, they're pretty lucky to have gotten a Nintendo game. *00:07* So I've never played a Dragon Quest game, but kind of like a Final Fantasy VI or something, you or *00:07* I a little little touch-up. *00:07* Although uh you know Digital Foundry pointed out some skeptics *00:07* Yeah, I I definitely did something like that. *00:07* I *00:07* Yeah, I mean I bought them year after year. *00:07* Why am I buying these? *00:07* And and no one saw this coming. *00:07* Like I have to play this right now *00:07* And it doesn't look poorly scaled pixel art, but it is like it's got a little crunch to it. *00:07* I like it. *00:07* I I like this style of *00:07* Yeah! *00:07* Yeah, so please go check all of that stuff out. *00:07* But until next time, thank you all so much for listening and adios. *00:07* Uh I say earlier, but it's it's most Super Nintendo systems out there, most that were released before *00:07* Because it has Pokemon Bank integration. *00:07* Yes. *00:07* And it just I felt let down in just a tremendous way. *00:07* What do you think gets the next HD2D? *00:07* I could actually couldn't tell. *00:07* And like back then they like didn't actually like really enforce like, you know, you have to be this age. *00:07* Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Class. *00:07* One of these Marvel vs. *00:07* Uh you know, the um the the main menu area is modeled *00:07* So I end up going for the Super Nintendo one. *00:07* I'm still nervous about the performance of this game more so than any other game *00:07* Capcom loves us. *00:07* I y I agree. *00:07* Like I said earlier. *00:07* So the spines match. *00:07* I got to disc two and then I hit like a difficulty spike. *00:07* I've seen him in *00:07* And I think it I especially think the assets are going to look s *00:07* You're a big hater. *00:07* Yeah, I I get that, but like I feel like *00:07* Because yeah, Live Alive has gotten a remake. *00:07* Absolutely wild. *00:07* Like what happens if I put this mushroom with a a spear? *00:07* Um gosh, it looks really rough. *00:07* Finally. *00:07* This game *00:07* You Yeah. *00:07* Was Corey and I on the episode at the same time or did we do it separately? *00:07* And I don't th you don't have to count it and but my calculations were at least 45. *00:07* So Dream was the last one I played. *00:07* More like Final Fantasy VI. *00:07* Um so uh like when you mentioned the Castlevania collection, I'm like, well *00:07* It's July, right? *00:07* It was excellent. *00:07* Um it I guess it's some sort of like roguelike *00:07* For for me, like I'm *00:07* I I do not like arcade sticks. *00:07* And then if for some reason switch two doesn't have backwards compatibility or the backwards compatibility *00:07* It's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. *00:07* This is uh for me the most exciting thing from the direct. *00:07* Like th this caught me totally off guard on the state of play because I was like *00:07* Uh, you know. *00:07* I mean they're you know, at the time they were coming out, you know, they served as a you know *00:07* I'm like, I swear to the thing. *00:07* Yeah. *00:07* Nice yeah yep. *00:07* And even though I don't actually extract the audio, it's just passing the HDMI. *00:07* Uh I I like how they're *00:07* They're some of the best platformers ever made. *00:07* It it it it it is maybe a little a little bit weird at first. *00:07* And he's like he's like, they won't say anything at all *00:07* So you just see their chest like they're from their neck down. *00:07* And I certainly can't play like platformers with them. *00:07* Generally. *00:07* Um and I would love the the thing, I think you have the same three D *00:07* So it's all very fresh, and I'm just shocked, just stunned. *00:07* It's really good. *00:07* So but the Pokemon made it. *00:07* Oh, I mean, I'm excited to hear about that then. *00:07* It is. *00:07* But what are you gonna do? *00:07* Because like, well, it's gonna be a new developer. *00:07* I can tell you that it's not it's not good. *00:07* Oh, interesting. *00:07* Like, where are these people coming from that are buying them? *00:07* Finally, in quotes. *00:07* I don't think it I'll pick it up, but right away at least *00:07* I don't think I've played one since *00:07* I could see that. *00:07* Look at what they did with Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on the Wii U. *00:07* No more a decade because uh um Prime 3 was 2007. *00:07* Um but uh oh gosh, I can't *00:07* It's uh it's kind of a cool snapshot. *00:08* And I always hear Dragon Quest III is the game. *00:08* Um, but there's also a strong PlayStation association, I would say, with the series as *00:08* Yeah, you're right. *00:08* Okay. *00:08* I'm completely unfortunate *00:08* Yes. *00:08* And I *00:08* Um so it was AI the the Sominum Files *00:08* It's kinda homey. *00:08* And I'm sure that's much more representative of kind of the more wide open areas. *00:08* Oh yes. *00:08* Oh I forgot about that. *00:08* I want to learn more about it, and the *00:08* And I'm actually so I'm using the tink to just not only upscale to four *00:08* And it's a work of art. *00:08* But uh, and then you have to track it down and *00:08* Like it used to be, like when we were dealing with nothing more than 1080p sixty. *00:08* I did want to say two things about it specifically *00:08* Funko Funky. *00:08* I mean the PS2 and PS3 version are like regularly over $200 when I *00:08* Um, but yeah, uh anyway, so I say all this to say the previous Mario Party. *00:08* I was very impressed. *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* Because I'm like, man. *00:08* Everyone's here! *00:08* I love it all. *00:08* Like um there are more and more Funko Pops in these retro game stores. *00:08* Oh man. *00:08* Now I'm thinking like, oh you know this Lego games could actually maybe be kind of *00:08* Um and so that I started it um you know played a little bit here and there on my trip and then *00:08* It's just got banger after banger. *00:08* And so the game's beautiful. *00:08* Farm Farmag. *00:08* Um I mean w you know I I know that Nintendo is pretty strict about uh *00:08* I had beaten *00:08* Almost completely different. *00:08* Blue mind. *00:08* It's one of those licensing games that just seems like *00:08* You don't even need the you don't even need the game. *00:08* So yeah, I I thought the art style was *00:08* So Ace Eternity got sidelined, but at least I was in a good stopping point. *00:08* They say H and I thought they looked good. *00:08* That's super cool. *00:08* I mean Ace Aturney! *00:08* But they were on there and I was like, oh my goodness. *00:08* Okay. *00:08* I cannot get used to them. *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* I can't I can't say it interests. *00:08* That are unique. *00:08* It was a banger. *00:08* Like the the the animations just look *00:08* Holy crap. *00:08* I was not offended by the HD look *00:08* I think it was I do agree with that. *00:08* You fe I personally feel like the next *00:08* I'm like, okay, like Friday night's gonna be *00:08* When it went up. *00:08* So like when you pull up the ultra hand and it kind of So that does that does it actually work? *00:08* I walked into a GameStop though after I they had shipped finally like a month *00:08* For for for me too. *00:08* Uh the Jeff the key threes. *00:08* And it's really, you know, the in-game artwork on like uh *00:08* You know, th those games are m are much more than like, you know *00:08* Visually, yes, yeah. *00:08* Is it my unfamiliarity with Dragon Quest? *00:08* And maybe maybe they're okay if you play th them, but th they *00:08* And I can't tell you how many times. *00:08* It's a different game. *00:08* Um personally. *00:08* Try is actually a wizard or a fairy that you mean. *00:08* Like I would play I would play these with the pick *00:08* Not not because I wasn't generally enjoying it, but I just I just *00:08* Yeah, get get some 120 FPS Mario Kart, why not? *00:08* I'm just mesmerized by the tink. *00:08* So like it felt like those games should be made for me, but I *00:08* It's w *00:08* Like they kind of like fake you out a little bit and also tease you a smid. *00:08* I mean it's it gets really crazy, I think, with the numbers and levels. *00:08* Yep, same boat there. *00:08* And doing Bowser's Inside Story instead, which is considered the best of the bunch. *00:08* I don't I don't know, but like I I I did like the the *00:08* I do want to finish it someday. *00:08* Is it it's pre-screen? *00:08* Uh you know some of Square Square Song *00:08* So I'd give it a chance. *00:08* And *00:08* I think I bought like *00:08* It's kind of the energy. *00:08* I mean like a lot of Mario Party games are actually pretty expensive unfortunately *00:08* So what case are you in? *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* It's it's dangarampa folks making a danger rapa *00:08* But that said, like, I I don't foresee them getting 60 frames per second. *00:08* That'll that'll be a moment. *00:08* Season seven, which is next, is Metroid Prime. *00:08* But I had long gone, yeah. *00:08* Yeah, I'd I I'm not familiar with it at all, but the art style I thought was totally awesome in this. *00:08* Because I mean I've got a mil I've got a million other ways to play these *00:08* It's it's a it's kind of a reboot game because like it it like uh *00:08* Looks looks *00:08* Structure, I mean, asset-wise, yeah, it looks *00:08* Um but yeah oh my gosh it's gonna be I mean there has been a fan translation *00:08* There the the other uh World's End Club *00:08* Yeah, I think it just sets the tone and pace and gets you hooked in early. *00:08* So I just found that. *00:08* It's like I just did a video actually on *00:08* It just makes you feel good. *00:08* November 7th. *00:08* They're they're much higher resolution, uh, much more detail. *00:08* Like they just gotta move it down. *00:08* Like I feel like yes *00:08* And *00:08* That's awesome. *00:08* And I was like really thinking about from like a well there's not much depth to the game *00:08* Like it's not Lego trees. *00:08* I'm excited. *00:08* New video comes up, immediate click. *00:08* But like when I first got it, I was just so obsessed with seeing what I could do with *00:08* Yeah. *00:08* Uh so uh or actually did I now that now I'm second guessing *00:08* So you know Hades was the game for me. *00:08* And then me and my wife play like five rounds. *00:08* Capcom games has like a version on PS1. *00:08* Echoes of wisdom. *00:08* Uh but the thing that I actually think is the most interesting about this *00:08* You know, we finally got Ace great Ace Attorney over here. *00:08* I I it I mean I I'm I I *00:08* Oh my gosh, chills. *00:08* So you get to the end of the level and then everything starts blowing up and the *00:08* And it makes me feel even better about, you know, super switch. *00:08* I've been dying for this. *00:08* That just felt like such a *00:08* You know what? *00:08* Yeah, it's it's very soon. *00:08* So *00:08* Yes, if the PS3 version only, of course. *00:08* That are unique. *00:08* So you know, I'm saying no no no I'm saying because you have in the collection. *00:08* And uh *00:08* Because I'm not playing it by myself. *00:08* Finally. *00:08* Sure. *00:08* I'm doing a season on that for chapter select. *00:08* And I would love for it to be on any system other than the three D *00:08* And *00:08* Sounds *00:08* I really like *00:08* Like, I think the Ape like it it *00:08* I mean, there's the wand of uh Gameleon. *00:08* G. *00:08* And probably people people gonna be murdered, you know. *00:08* So I I *00:08* I'm a I'm a big hater. *00:09* I haven't played it yet. *00:09* I guess. *00:09* Yeah, so Conquer, the the the depth of history on Conquer goes even deeper. *00:09* Yes, specifically the I think there were at least two they mentioned. *00:09* Oh yeah, holy crap indeed. *00:09* The Switch is not going to be playing this game at 60 frames per second. *00:09* Plus we've got Hiro Nobu Sak. *00:09* I mean I I can play a a farming adjacent game *00:09* So that's where I was exposed. *00:09* And alm kind of in the vein of what you were just talking about there with the Super Fama com *00:09* I uh little little more recent uh accessibility to them. *00:09* Everyone's favorite game from the direct. *00:09* . *00:09* And I thought, and I think some other people thought this too. *00:09* Who knows? *00:09* So they they are, you know, and the characters are much smaller rather than *00:09* Rain something rain. *00:09* It's first click. *00:09* And then uh this is besides Prime 4, which we will get to *00:09* They are garbage. *00:09* Did it, did it. *00:09* It's like a you know N64 era *00:09* Phantom Aurga Spirit Trap. *00:09* Ano kind of *00:09* And it's interest i again to kinda remind myself *00:09* And so you just *00:09* No one saw this quality of show coming for, you know, *00:09* Uh but it was very cool to see it on the Switch. *00:09* Uh *00:09* Maybe, but I could also see either of those getting a remake in the style of *00:09* I'm like, yeah, I probably played Mario Party 6 like once and I'm like *00:09* So I think this is going to be the first time that we've seen this overhead perspective Zelda *00:09* But I mean I you know, I've always been very interested and the thing that is especially *00:09* I like that a lot. *00:09* Now Hunters, I played the crap out of as a kid. *00:09* I'm sure we'll see some updates where they, you know *00:09* And Play Asia was having a sale where it was like three games for a hundred bucks. *00:09* I don't think I I *00:09* Fantasian Neo Dimension. *00:09* Interesting. *00:09* This I mean so Dragon Quest looks phenomenal *00:09* It looked pretty rough. *00:09* And I had like three more layers of that conversation to get through. *00:09* Apparently a thing that the students do with like free time or or whatever like *00:09* Like that's just so strange and surprising. *00:09* Like I wasn't I wasn't really feeling it at first, but then when you start getting in *00:09* What if we attach one of our IP to it? *00:09* I mean, you know, uh the the PlayStation showcase was *00:09* It would be a pretty big pop-off kind of moment. *00:09* Yeah. *00:09* And then that led to me working with IGN in a freelance capacity. *00:09* You don't even think mature with the N64. *00:09* Yeah, I I I can resist that. *00:09* Uh so I yeah, I I you know they've *00:09* Um you know, so it's it's a very simple *00:09* Uh not to totally allude to the episode that we will be recording now. *00:09* Um Did you use the stylus or did you use the little thumb thing? *00:09* I'm pretty sure that was *00:09* Yeah. *00:09* What would Side tangent? *00:09* But this, I just *00:09* I mean, the you know, I mean think back through Nintendo's history. *00:09* So I was like, well, I wanna I wanna ensure that I don't *00:09* This is the first time it's been a you know a console game. *00:09* So I'll I'll get it on PS5. *00:09* Yeah, that Dave. *00:09* And the trajectory just feels so wrong. *00:09* They they you know it it they have not *00:09* Unique toads, yeah, yeah, yeah. *00:09* For the listener, if you haven't seen the trailer or *00:09* Uh what's not a banger was just another just dance video game. *00:09* I'm like like that's that's kinda cool that they're going for it *00:09* It was really cool. *00:09* Yeah, pre-scale up fix it up. *00:09* May maybe like this is like proof of like *00:09* Like the the event structure is. *00:09* Clearly the same assets and engine and style and things. *00:09* You know, there's like one shot of where *00:09* Federation Force is um *00:09* They were like, it won't be NX at this time. *00:09* It is immediately immediately I recognized it as Mario. *00:09* I don't know. *00:09* And thank good, thank goodness it's happening. *00:09* I actually I'm not sure. *00:09* It it it it strikes the right balance of like design. *00:09* Yeah. *00:09* So I've got like this like *00:09* So excited. *00:09* So that is a very interesting concept to me. *00:09* They're there. *00:09* I *00:09* There's more to it. *00:09* It *00:09* Uh very very excited. *00:09* I mean it really is I think this *00:09* So I had a good little uh *00:09* But then Octopath Traveler 2, I was like damn *00:09* That's *00:09* Uh and *00:09* So like and Predator 2 is like not that great of a movie *00:09* Uh and you know that that I I think that's that's actually a good approach. *00:10* Like there's like a *00:10* So *00:10* It it makes me think of uh *00:10* Like there was like no leaks, no rumors, like this *00:10* Uh *00:10* There you go. *00:10* It's very weird that I would just like *00:10* The game itself, the gameplay, it looks kind of like *00:10* My brother was super into it. *00:10* Like I'm usually very open-minded about *00:10* I mean, maybe it could have a multiplayer mode, but I'm sure it's mostly a *00:10* I mean if *00:10* Yeah, some somewhere else. *00:10* Mar Mario Mario Party uh one and two back in the *00:10* Yep, I'm in the same camp there with that. *00:10* And then from Bank *00:10* It does. *00:10* So when this pops up I wish I was I wish I was *00:10* I don't Nintendo would not mislead *00:10* Hello, Try. *00:10* I I did a thing where I took like a Saturday afternoon *00:10* There's just a disconnect in my brain. *00:10* It could be. *00:10* House of the Dead, yes. *00:10* I of course I I don't know if the remake could possibly like *00:10* I truly don't know. *00:10* It's not possible. *00:10* It could have a completely different uh *00:10* Like how how do people not just already own it? *00:10* I don't know. *00:10* I mean the all you know, I am not an Apple guy. *00:10* Do you
