# September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - 2024 Notice [No Mo’ Chemo](https://512pixels.net/2024/09/no-mo-chemo/) by Stephen Hackett > For Josiah’s party, the room was full of the medical staff that had been with us on his journey. Together, we got to celebrate how far our son had come in his short life. In May 2009 when Josiah was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, we knew none of the people in the room. > > By June 25, 2010, they were family. They had worked day and night, for months, to help save our son’s life. They had seen us at our lowest moments, always ready to point us toward hope. Every year, the fine folks at Relay and their community rally together to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. And every year, I do my part to raise awareness and donate. This year is much more subdued than the last. Last year, we raised over $500 through my [[Streaming Every Single Mario Kart for St. Jude and Relay FM|Mario Kart streams]]. This year is just a blog post. It's been a heck of a year and summer. I may not have the bandwidth to fundraise weekly and live, but I definitely have the bandwidth to write and spread information. The Podcastathon, Relay's huge fundraising live event, is fast approaching on September 20, 2024. > "Join Myke Hurley, Stephen Hackett, Kathy Campbell, Jason Snell, and Casey Liss as they spend 12 hours together in chaos, all to raise support for the lifesaving work of St. Jude!"
