# The Sad Backstory of Limited Run Games [Limited Run Games and The Problems Within (Josh)](https://web.archive.org/web/20240827232636/https://medium.com/@douglas.bizdev/limited-run-games-and-the-problems-within-josh-490e7e836761) by Douglas Bogart Two months ago, co-founder of Limited Run Games posted a lengthy post on Medium about the broken dynamics behind the scenes at Limited Run Games. Douglas claims the post going public was an accident, but the Web Archive sealed it away. This story is picking up steam now because of a quote about using CD-R's for 3DO titles, which came to pass all in the interest of saving a few bucks, which has now cost LRG more than it would have to just produce the games correctly the first time. My pull quote of choice is Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia buying SNK. > “I remember when SNK was purchased by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia I advised we shouldn’t work with them anymore because he was accused of numerous human rights violations including murder of a US citizen, and I was told that money is money.” The real story is the one of a broken friendship and abuse. We are only getting one side of the story here, which I believe matters, but the tale is gut-wrenching nonetheless. I'm glad I didn't cave with *Animal Well* or *Castlevania* or *Penny's Big Breakaway*. Let *[[Limited Run Got Me|Humanity]]* show up on my doorstep and I shall say goodbye.
