# Nintendo Switch 2 is All But Here
The [leaks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEe8obh3Wzo) are a bit insane, aren't they? I don't even think I could link to them all if I tried, but here are a few. Everything from [the motherboard](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoN1ZdnreNM) to [a logo](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/images-of-alleged-switch-2-joy-cons-have-appeared-online/). We have [renders](https://www.genkithings.com/pages/ns2_accessories) and [renders](https://youtube.com/watch?v=KAbXItlrUnQ) and [renders](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/a-nintendo-switch-2-replica-is-being-showcased-behind-closed-doors-at-ces/). The [release date/window](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/case-maker-reportedly-reveals-switch-2-release-date-to-ces-atendees/) may have leaked. Even [SD card specs](https://x.com/Wario64/status/1877187836949971277) have leaked.
It's...a lot. Basically the entire console is out in the wild. I wouldn't be surprised if we see off-screen boot footage of the console next week.
Nintendo has been nearly silent on the whole affair, only [commenting](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/nintendo-responds-to-switch-2-ces-leaks/) on the Genkai renders, by saying "These images and videos are not official."
I am impressed by two bits though. First, the whole optical mouse support in the Joy-Con. Genius and it will open the doors for cursor support in games. Could you imagine *Animal Crossing* or *Splatoon* with cursor support? Bring back *[Mario Paint](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_NES_Mouse)*!
More impressive though is that *the games* haven't leaked. Perhaps the word is not "impressive," but rather that it is more exciting. If the Switch 2 is really due out in April (which feels shockingly soon and overdue at the same time), then the console is being manufactured right now. Of course the leaks are going to burst forth. Since all the first-party games are made, you know, in Nintendo, the control around the conversation is much more tight lipped. And why do we buy the hardware? To play the games!
I find it funny how long it is taking Nintendo to officially announce the thing. At this rate, I want it to keep leaking and leaking. I find this funny. What I can't wait for are the games announced alongside the console when it is finally time. That's the real exciting bit. I hope those don't leak at all.
