I may give Phil a lot of [[I'll Have Two Servings of Claim Chowder Please|grief]] here, but the messaging does seem to *finally* be consistent with (most) of the company's actions. I appreciate Phil going on shows and doing interviews like this. He is one of the last faces on the Big Three and he is certainly the most active in the community and in the press circuit. I enjoyed Phil's stance on keeping the Series S parity clause. It *has* benefitted them in regard to weaker, portable hardware. The low baseline has given their teams the knowledge and resources to adapt, which I don't think was foreseen 5+ years ago when the box was made. Switch and Steam Deck have changed the conversation about dedicated gaming hardware. Xbox seems to be ready for this new frontier. I also appreciated Phil's talk on hardware differentiation. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are very similar pieces of kit. The best differentiating factor is what makes them each unique; Xbox's backward compatibility and library access capabilities versus the DualSense controller and a buttload of accessories, including VR. I hope this comes to pass with the next generation, which probably isn't all that far away.
