design, and legacy. *00:00-00:12* **Max Roberts**: My name is Max Roberts, and I am joined as always by Logan Moore. *00:12-00:17* **Max Roberts**: Hey, Logan *00:17-00:24* **Logan Moore**: Max, remember when we announced this season in a blog like two years ago? *00:18-00:24* **Max Roberts**: Oh, yeah, we did. *00:23-00:25* **Max Roberts**: I think we said here are the next three seasons of Chapter Select Pokemon, Metroid and Castlevania. *00:26-00:33* **Logan Moore**: Pokemon's out there. *00:34-00:35* **Logan Moore**: You can go listen to that right now. *00:35-00:36* **Max Roberts**: Pokemon is out there. *00:36-00:38* **Logan Moore**: We did good on that. *00:37-00:38* **Max Roberts**: Complete. *00:38-00:40* **Logan Moore**: Metroid will be soon to follow now. *00:38-00:41* **Max Roberts**: It will be. *00:41-00:41* **Max Roberts**: Because you know what, everybody? *00:42-00:43* **Max Roberts**: Nintendo decided to tell us when Metroid Prime 4 was coming out, and so we decided to tell you when Season 7 was coming out. *00:44-00:52* **Logan Moore**: Yeah, it's kind of *00:51-00:55* **Logan Moore**: I mean, you and I were just talking about this. *00:53-00:55* **Logan Moore**: We did not intend for this season to, you know, be as long in production as it has turned out to be, but. *00:55-01:02* **Logan Moore**: Once we kind of got here, it's sort of worked out well. *01:03-01:07* **Logan Moore**: I'm happy with how we will be releasing this season. *01:07-01:10* **Logan Moore**: We'll give you the details here on when every episode's going to come out. *01:10-01:14* **Logan Moore**: But this is going to lead right up to MetRed Prime 4 releasing at the end of 2025 here in early December. *01:14-01:22* **Logan Moore**: So this will be a great *01:22-01:27* **Logan Moore**: Play-along podcast if you're trying to catch up on all the Metroid games before Metroid Prime 4. *01:25-01:30* **Max Roberts**: I think I wrote somewhere on my blog along the lines of like, it surely won't take us a year to play five Metroid Prime games. *01:30-01:41* **Max Roberts**: In fact, it took us two. *01:42-01:44* **Max Roberts**: Funny enough, ironically, when I was looking at the dates to like button up the schedule *01:44-01:52* **Max Roberts**: I realized that it is almost two years to the day from when we recorded our Metroid Prime remastered episode back in October. *01:50-02:00* **Max Roberts**: of 2023, and uh I think that's pretty exciting. *02:00-02:06* **Max Roberts**: It's it's serendipitous, obviously, and far from intentional, but *02:06-02:13* **Max Roberts**: As someone who's been editing these episod I also hadn't edited them until the last couple of months. *02:11-02:16* **Max Roberts**: So I'm like reliving our conversations and our experience. *02:17-02:21* **Max Roberts**: building up to the release of the game and the release of this season. *02:21-02:25* **Max Roberts**: And it's I mean, I know I'm on the show and I'm biased, but *02:25-02:33* **Max Roberts**: It's a good season. *02:31-02:32* **Max Roberts**: I'm just it's a good season, guys. *02:32-02:34* **Logan Moore**: I I enjoy our seasons that are that are a little bit tighter, which is funny because again, this one's taken so long for us to come out with here, but like *02:35-02:46* **Logan Moore**: The Pokemon and the Paper Mario and the God of Wars, like those seasons, God of War wasn't too bad because each game wasn't that long on its own. *02:45-02:52* **Logan Moore**: But like the ones where we end up playing almost *02:52-02:57* **Logan Moore**: 10 games can feel pretty lengthy. *02:55-02:58* **Logan Moore**: Like this was five that we have played up until now. *02:58-03:01* **Logan Moore**: We're gonna play Metroid Prime 4 here and do an episode for that that'll go up after launch, which we'll again talk about in detail here. *03:01-03:08* **Logan Moore**: Um but five is a nice little it it's a good little concise season. *03:08-03:13* **Max Roberts**: It's the same as our Banjo and Kazooie season if you include our Conquer episode. *03:13-03:19* **Max Roberts**: So it's all buttoned up. *03:20-03:21* **Max Roberts**: And yeah, nothing like a little tight six episode season right before an eighteen episode season. *03:22-03:30* **Max Roberts**: You know, nothing. *03:30-03:31* **Max Roberts**: This would be great. *03:31-03:33* **Logan Moore**: Yes, it is still at the time of recording this our plan to do Castlevania. *03:33-03:38* **Logan Moore**: We'll see if that season comes to light. *03:39-03:40* **Logan Moore**: I really want it to. *03:41-03:42* **Max Roberts**: I we bought all the games. *03:43-03:45* **Max Roberts**: I certainly spent enough money. *03:45-03:47* **Logan Moore**: I mean, it might not come to your ears until 2027 or 28, but we'll do it. *03:47-03:53* **Logan Moore**: We'll focus on it. *03:53-03:54* **Logan Moore**: We'll knock it out at some point. *03:54-03:55* **Logan Moore**: As far as this season goes, so let's get into the rundown of how the season's gonna flow. *03:57-04:02* **Logan Moore**: First episode *04:03-04:06* **Logan Moore**: Will drop on October 1st, 2025, and that's going to be Metroid Prime. *04:04-04:09* **Logan Moore**: We will be playing the first game. *04:09-04:10* **Logan Moore**: Technically, Metroid Prime Remastered is the version we played. *04:11-04:14* **Logan Moore**: On Nintendo Switch. *04:14-04:16* **Logan Moore**: And then from there, we're going to go in right into the peak of the series. *04:16-04:21* **Logan Moore**: Federation Force. *04:22-04:23* **Logan Moore**: Metroid Prime Federation Force. *04:23-04:25* **Logan Moore**: Will be episode two that will launch on October 15th. *04:25-04:29* **Logan Moore**: We did end up playing the most hated game in the series. *04:30-04:35* **Logan Moore**: So, if you thought that we weren't going to cover Federation Force *04:35-04:40* **Logan Moore**: You're wrong. *04:38-04:39* **Logan Moore**: Episode 3 will then be Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. *04:39-04:42* **Logan Moore**: That will launch on October 29th, 2025. *04:42-04:45* **Logan Moore**: Episode 4 will be Metroid Prime Hunters, the other DS game. *04:45-04:49* **Logan Moore**: That will be on November 12th, 2025. *04:49-04:52* **Logan Moore**: And then Metroid Prime 3 Corruption will launch on Metroid 26. *04:52-04:58* **Logan Moore**: On November 26th, 2025. *04:57-05:01* **Logan Moore**: And then that will be one week, I believe, before Metroid Prime 4 comes out. *05:01-05:06* **Logan Moore**: Is that the week before? *05:06-05:07* **Max Roberts**: Yep. *05:06-05:07* **Max Roberts**: It is the week before Beyond. *05:07-05:10* **Logan Moore**: So, yeah. *05:07-05:08* **Logan Moore**: So yeah, then Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will launch the week after. *05:10-05:14* **Max Roberts**: Beyond Beyond *05:11-05:17* **Logan Moore**: Max and I will dive into playing that. *05:15-05:17* **Logan Moore**: I would imagine. *05:17-05:18* **Max Roberts**: Don't make any promises. *05:18-05:20* **Logan Moore**: Probably, yeah, I don't want to make any promises. *05:19-05:22* **Max Roberts**: Don't make any promises. *05:20-05:22* **Logan Moore**: I would say to give like a hopeful deadline, like early January, maybe something like that. *05:23-05:32* **Max Roberts**: That would be helpful, and you know, when we did this with *05:31-05:37* **Max Roberts**: Resident Evil 4 remake, we were pretty quick on the turnaround there. *05:35-05:39* **Max Roberts**: I just the only reason that one took any longer was I was moving during the edit period. *05:39-05:45* **Logan Moore**: Well, yeah. *05:44-05:45* **Max Roberts**: So *05:46-05:50* **Logan Moore**: We know that this is going to be the holiday period too. *05:46-05:48* **Logan Moore**: So like we don't I don't know what my plans are going to be if *05:48-05:54* **Logan Moore**: There's going to be traveling involved. *05:52-05:53* **Logan Moore**: I mean, we can play it on Switch, so like, that's the nice thing it could take it with us if we both are busy. *05:53-05:59* **Max Roberts**: We can play it on Switch Two. *05:57-05:59* **Logan Moore**: True. *06:00-06:00* **Logan Moore**: Switch two, I should say, which we both have. *06:00-06:03* **Logan Moore**: So like, I think we can probably get through that in a decent amount of time because of that. *06:04-06:10* **Logan Moore**: So, I mean, I've played all these games on the go. *06:12-06:15* **Logan Moore**: You can talk about how to play these games. *06:15-06:17* **Logan Moore**: So, we're releasing them in this manner. *06:17-06:19* **Logan Moore**: I know we've talked about this in the past seasons. *06:19-06:21* **Logan Moore**: If you want to play along with us, we've done these in a two-week *06:21-06:26* **Logan Moore**: Release cadence, we feel like that's a good enough period of time to, you know, if you want to play alongside each play each of these games alongside us as the episodes come out, you should have ample time to do so before we release new episodes. *06:24-06:38* **Max Roberts**: Says the guys that took two years to play them. *06:38-06:41* **Logan Moore**: You know, there's just a lot going on. *06:43-06:45* **Logan Moore**: If there's not as much going on in your life, two weeks is a good enough period of time. *06:45-06:51* **Max Roberts**: If you're not getting married or moving or wanting to play Elden Ring, you know. *06:48-06:54* **Logan Moore**: Yeah. *06:52-06:53* **Logan Moore**: True. *06:55-06:55* **Logan Moore**: That is the thing that happened. *06:56-06:58* **Max Roberts**: You should be able to play all of these games. *06:56-06:59* **Max Roberts**: The accessibility of this franchise is a bit mixed. *07:00-07:05* **Max Roberts**: To say the least, these days by official means, Metroid Prime 1, Metroid Prime Remastered, still accessible on the Switch and Switch 2, so that's great. *07:06-07:16* **Max Roberts**: Beyond obviously will be accessible at the end of the year. *07:17-07:20* **Max Roberts**: But then the rest of this stuff falls into uh some old hardware and some pricey variations. *07:20-07:28* **Max Roberts**: The long rumored, generationally rumored *07:28-07:32* **Max Roberts**: Remakes or remasters of Prime Two and Three are nowhere to be found, so your options there are GameCube or the Wii or Wii U if you have the trilogy digitally there. *07:32-07:44* **Logan Moore**: Or as you'll find in this throughout the season, Steam Deck is a great option too. *07:44-07:50* **Max Roberts**: Hunters and *07:44-07:46* **Max Roberts**: Well, yes, I was g I was trying to do official means first, uh and then the DS and three DS for *07:49-07:57* **Max Roberts**: Federation Force and Hunters, but um with the three D S E shop being shut down, good old Fetty Force is quite expensive these days. *07:56-08:04* **Max Roberts**: So *08:04-08:07* **Max Roberts**: If you are of a different persuasion, you may be able to find versions of those games on your 3DS and DS as needed. *08:06-08:13* **Max Roberts**: And then the Steam Deck offers a pretty compelling package with the *08:13-08:20* **Max Roberts**: It's called Prime Hack, right? *08:19-08:21* **Max Roberts**: Is the package. *08:21-08:23* **Logan Moore**: Yep. *08:22-08:22* **Logan Moore**: Yep. *08:23-08:23* **Max Roberts**: So you can play you can play all three of those on your Steam Deck. *08:23-08:28* **Logan Moore**: Highly recommend. *08:24-08:25* **Max Roberts**: I think even just on your computer, too. *08:28-08:30* **Max Roberts**: You don't need a Steam Deck for this, but. *08:30-08:32* **Max Roberts**: Um you could play them that way if you would like. *08:33-08:35* **Max Roberts**: And then uh yeah, that's really those are the best ways. *08:36-08:40* **Max Roberts**: You could technically, I guess, if you had a Wii U and you bought Prime Hunters before *08:40-08:47* **Max Roberts**: The Wii U Shutdown. *08:45-08:47* **Max Roberts**: I think that was one of the DSE shop games. *08:47-08:49* **Max Roberts**: I forget. *08:49-08:50* **Logan Moore**: Yeah, yeah, I believe it was. *08:49-08:51* **Max Roberts**: So, official means you're going to be going to your retro stores or eBay. *08:51-08:56* **Max Roberts**: Unofficial means, good luck, everybody. *08:57-09:00* **Max Roberts**: The um, you know, we've played them all. *09:01-09:04* **Max Roberts**: It's been a fun journey. *09:05-09:06* **Max Roberts**: We've played them in a variety of ways. *09:06-09:07* **Max Roberts**: I think you're gonna get a pretty good picture of *09:08-09:12* **Max Roberts**: All of these options throughout the course of our season. *09:10-09:14* **Max Roberts**: I'm very excited about that. *09:14-09:16* **Max Roberts**: But one thing that also is different or wasn't really planned, I don't know. *09:17-09:22* **Max Roberts**: This season is that we have no guests with us. *09:23-09:25* **Max Roberts**: This is a Max and Logan solo joint or duo joint this season in part because it took us so long. *09:26-09:34* **Max Roberts**: In other parts, we put out feelers and requests and asked people and had a hard time finding people to say yes to Prime. *09:35-09:44* **Max Roberts**: And uh to be fair, most of that was two years ago when I think people maybe weren't as amped. *09:44-09:49* **Max Roberts**: Um the desire for Beyo uh Metroid Prime 4 wasn't like as prevalent since it didn't feel real. *09:49-09:56* **Max Roberts**: But this is just a solo joint, and I think it's I think it's for the best in these tighter seasons. *09:57-10:03* **Logan Moore**: I do too. *10:03-10:04* **Logan Moore**: Yeah, I I'm I'm gla I'm happy with how this turned out, not only with just every episode in the can and how each of them turned out individually, but I I like that it was just *10:05-10:16* **Logan Moore**: You and I. *10:15-10:16* **Logan Moore**: I enjoy our guests on this, but there's something to be said about it just being you and I on this, and I hope that sentiment is felt by *10:16-10:26* **Logan Moore**: You, the listeners. *10:24-10:24* **Logan Moore**: Yeah, I think we had had maybe one or two people like tentatively lined up for some of the episodes, and it just, yeah, as we continued to *10:24-10:36* **Logan Moore**: lengthen the production period or a which is aka just put off playing the games and doing all of this. *10:34-10:41* **Logan Moore**: Like, it felt weird to reach back out to some people, you know, like *10:41-10:47* **Logan Moore**: 18 months after we had contacted them about playing certain games, so we just decided to, you know, keep it in-house this time around. *10:45-10:53* **Max Roberts**: It's going to be a good time, everybody. *10:53-10:55* **Max Roberts**: So in two weeks, roughly if you're listening to this at launch *10:56-11:03* **Max Roberts**: Season seven will begin in earnest. *11:01-11:03* **Max Roberts**: The episodes, almost all of them, they are all recorded. *11:03-11:07* **Max Roberts**: They just need to be. *11:07-11:08* **Max Roberts**: Two of them need to be edited. *11:08-11:09* **Max Roberts**: Three of them are done and banked this season. *11:10-11:12* **Max Roberts**: will be releasing on time, on schedule. *11:13-11:15* **Max Roberts**: There's not going to be any snafus in that regard. *11:15-11:19* **Max Roberts**: So thank you all so much for your patience. *11:20-11:22* **Max Roberts**: Staying subscribed. *11:22-11:23* **Max Roberts**: Share it with your friends as we get closer here, as we creep closer to Metroid Prime 4 Beyond's release date. *11:24-11:30* **Max Roberts**: Share it with your friends. *11:30-11:32* **Max Roberts**: Get excited with us. *11:32-11:33* **Max Roberts**: You know, technically over a two year journey here. *11:33-11:36* **Max Roberts**: Not an what, by the time it comes out, an eight year journey for Metroid Prime 4 from its official announcement. *11:37-11:43* **Logan Moore**: Eight and a half, I think. *11:43-11:44* **Max Roberts**: Eight, eight and a half to almost nine years. *11:43-11:46* **Max Roberts**: This is going to be a great culmination for both Prime and for Chapter Select as we launch season seven here. *11:46-11:55* **Max Roberts**: And I think that'll do it for this introductory episode. *11:55-11:59* **Max Roberts**: Thank you all so much. *11:59-12:00* **Max Roberts**: Stay subscribed, share it with your friends. *12:01-12:03* **Max Roberts**: We look forward to sharing season seven Metroid Prime with you all here soon in your podcast feeds. *12:03-12:09* **Max Roberts**: And until next time, adios. *12:10-12:13*
