# Apple Has a Vampire Weekend (and Others) Problem
Call me an old man, but I still manage my music library pretty regularly and like I use an iPod. I'm in tune with what gets added, sorted, etc. Another musical trait of mine is that I listen to albums front to back. Shuffle is for the radio, instrumental playlists, and sickos. So you better believe I was alarmed when I saw two instances of *Vampire Weekend* by Vampire Weekend in my library.[^1]

A quick reading of the titles and you'll see that the hit track *A-Punk* has been isolated as an [iTunes Single of the Week](https://musicbrainz.org/series/2a06d6f4-870c-497e-886a-9592c001a91c). The only problem is that I never redeemed it as a Single of the Week. In fact, I never added *Vampire Weekend* through Apple Music. It was originally brought into my library from a ripped CD a friend in college gave me. But now, somewhere on Apple's servers, these two must be separated and no longer listed as one album. This is detrimental to me and my music listening.

Even when you click the "Show Complete Album" button at the bottom, Apple incorrectly numbers the tracks. It's broken. Full stop.

I've tried all the workarounds I know short of buying the CD and ripping it again. I modified the album info for both to have the same album, album artist, sort settings. Nothing sticks and the two shall never meet. My workaround now is I made a playlist, added the album art to said playlist, and just pretend.
I've seen this on other albums in my library too, but this one hits too close to my regular rotation. Please fix this Apple. I'm sure Apple Music's code is high on your list of priorities these days.
[^1]: Don't worry about the double cover for *Only God Was Above*; that's just what they decided to use for a live single.
