Nearly two years after its [announcement](https://x.com/meet_epilogue/status/1767166127497453992), the [SN Operator](https://epilogue.co/product/sn-operator) is going up for sale today. I [[GB Operator Thoughts and Impressions|reviewed]] the GB Operator back in 2021. Here was my closing;
> "Epilogue has struck that balance beautifully. There is power in its elegance. The GB Operator truly is a 'cartridge slot for your computer.'"
The SN Operator looks to strike that same balance for the SNES. At $60, you'd be hard pressed to find a comparable alternative. If you want both the Game Boy and SNES, you *can* find alternatives that support more devices, but is not as elegant and sleek. If you want to play just your SNES games on your computer, this is the adapter for you.
Personally, I bought an [Open Source Cartridge Reader](https://savethehero.builders) a few years ago and it does it all. Mine cost a smidge more than $150 and it supports SNES, Genesis, N64, and the Game Boy family out of the box. This is the Swiss Army knife of cart dumpers and makes more sense for my authentic hardware first mindset. I never emulate off my computer.
