Set on race courses throughout the galaxy, players can pick racers and their pod from a diverse lineup. The game does a pretty good job of conveying speed, which I think is vital for a racer like this. # Acquisition I *think* I bought this at a GameStop in Indiana while visiting a friend along with *Glover*. There was a bin with N64 carts strewn about in the middle of this particularly skinny GameStop. They were cheap enough for me and my velcro wallet to afford. I no longer own *Glover*. # Memories While I did not get this even close to its launch, I was and have always been the target demographic for this game. Jar Jar is just as much my fault as the Ewoks are of the six-year-olds of 1983. Besides being targeted, the N64 was perfect for a two-player racer for my brother and me. There are many sessions at the foot of a tiny 16'' tube TV in our nook of the basement. --- I remember discovering there was a dual-analog cheat in high school. You could put one controller in port 1 and the second in port 3. Make a new file, hold down Z, and use L to select the following letters `RRDUAL` then select `END`, also with the L button. Then type your name and continue as normal. This blew me and my friend's minds. Each stick controls one engine, so you can use "differential thrust" to drive. It is a magical mode that feels even more like podracing. --- We can't forget the arcade cabinet version, which I have always loved. ![podcade](https://i.redd.it/kyfjwrvzeatz.jpg) # Miscellaneous - [Star Wars Episode I: Racer | 1 Player 2 Controllers](https://youtube.com/watch?v=T64zWlUTYwo) by Blam Cat!
