Developer: Nintendo EAD
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Wii
Release: October 20, 2008
Summary
Nintendo's attempt to tap into both the music game craze and their own casual, massive Wii market. While air guitar, air drumming, and air orchestrating are cool to do on your own, they don't seem to make for a compelling game. One of the most iconic (or infamous) game reveals ever though.
Acquisition
Stopped after church at a local mom and pop. I was doing some therapy shopping. Was buying Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus when I saw this too. Other CiB copies were marked for $9.99, but this one must of had an older sticker marked at $6.99. I like physical "price errors."
Memories
While I have never played Wii Music, I will never forget the revel at E3 2008, which I have embedded below. So that feels like a core memory.
Miscellaneous
- Iwata Asks - Super Mario Galaxy, Volume 3: The Sound Team, Part 1: Why Use an Orchestra?
- This mentions a moment where Miyamotot was captivated by an orchestra recording for Super Mario Galaxy and that helped bring Wii Music to life.

- Who would have thought that there was a speedrun of this game?
