# A Couple of Movie Trailers for 2025
I saw a couple movie trailers yesterday and today that have me looking forward to the theater once again.

If you had told me that the 2018 YouTube *Red* exclusive series *Cobra Kai* would not only be great, but would relaunch the *Karate Kid* franchise into the zeitgeist, I don't think I could have believed you. If you told me that it's lead to a "cinematic universe" where Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio would unite on the silver screen, I'd have called you a liar.
Two branches. One tree. Let's go.
And don't forget that the new Karate Kid is the result of a [worldwide casting call](https://youtube.com/watch?v=1MR1HPas-VA) from last November. I am eager to see Ben Wang in action. Plenty of shots in the trailer remind me of Every Frame a Painting's essay *[Jackie Chan - How to Do Action Comedy](https://youtube.com/watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ)*, particularly number three: [Jackie likes clarity](https://youtube.com/watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ&t=117).

I mean, after [[Civil War is a Certifiable Banger|gushing]] about *[[Civil War's Environmental Storytelling|Civil War]]* earlier this [[What Civil War said to Me|year]], how could I *not* be anticipating more A24 teaming up with Alex Garland.
