Developer: Nintendo R&D1
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Game Boy Advance
Release: November 18, 2002
Summary
A return to 2D Metroid after an eight-year gap from Super Metroid. Fusion takes incorporates a healthy dose of horror into the mix with great effect. You gotta love the bold, neon blue suit design.
Acquisition
I don't know why, but I bought this in-store at a GameStop, but using their online service. Perhaps I had a return/credit and expressed a desire for Fusion and they just ordered it for me on their portal. I do know that it never crossed my mind to check for a repro cartridge until many years later—don't worry, we good.
Memories
Fusion came out the same exact day as Metroid Prime. While I don't specifically remember this, I wish I did. What a day that would have been to celebrate Metroid.
I do recall getting this on the Wii U Virtual Console since I never did buy this game as a lad. But I never played it on Wii U. It wouldn't be until getting the GBA cartridge that I'd finally dive in. Probably a lesson in the power/allure of physical games over digital ones. Although, I never finished it. I don't know why.
