Back of Box

Developer: Game Freak
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Nintendo DS
Release: March 14, 2010
Summary
The pinnacle of Pokémon design, story, and gameplay. A honest RPG with the grind to prove it with ties and lore so perfectly seeded over the years. A masterful remake and an unforgettable experience.
Acquisition
Bought loose from a local shop in May 2022, using $20 off on their punch card. Later, Grant would give me the box and manual as a Christmas gift.
Memories
A real grind and battle of whits. I love the world being so interconnected and evolving over the course of the game. The way random trainers you fight call back and want rematches as they are stronger is such a perfect encapsulation of the core of Pokémon.
Having the world be tied together with Pokémon Blue Version and its generation is an all-timer. You really felt like the world was alive and the series respected you as the player. I think the franchise has been chasing this high point ever since.
I do remember my friends getting this game in high school, but I have no clue why I never snagged it.
Forever glad I recorded my battle against Red.
